Chapter 106 The So-called Honesty

"Hmm - this is new." Chen Tinghan subconsciously wanted to scratch his head, but he couldn't lift his hand and grimaced in pain.

Wang Jinling placed the towel in the basin at her feet, placed her clean feet on the car mat, clasped them with her arms, and said with a charming smile:

"It takes a hundred days to heal a broken bone. If you go to see someone like Lu Qing with your injuries, you should think not only of yourself but also of your family. He has the connections, so he must have a very tight network from production to transportation to sales. Insects like these have no moral bottom line. Threatening your family is just a basic operation for them."

"You don't have to worry about that." Chen Tinghan said casually.

"Very confident, yes, thanks to the Qin family's connections, right?" Wang Jinling rested her chin on her pale knees and said with a smile, "When it comes to security, the Qin family is truly unmatched. If they didn't go down this path, they might have been able to thrive by opening a security company.

However, security is often not enough to rely on confidentiality; absolute security is based on the premise that your enemy stops breathing."

"However, you are lucky. These people should no longer have the opportunity to retaliate against anyone privately."

Chen Tinghan narrowed his eyes and asked, "Did you kill them?"

"Me? I don't have that ability." Wang Jinling laughed and said, "I've been investigating Lu Qing for much longer than you have. In my eyes, he's no better than a colander. I just passed on everything he leaked to me through various channels to people who can investigate this matter.

It should be said that everyone on this line was completely killed.”

"Miss Wang, you are so arrogant." Chen Tinghan said sarcastically without any pain.

"This can be considered a gift from me to you to commemorate our first collaboration," said Wang Jinling.

Chen Tinghan didn't respond and suddenly said, "You have a very good voice and your singing technique is outstanding, but I always feel that there is something wrong with your singing."

"Please advise."

"I could tell that the lyrics and arrangement of the song played on the radio were somewhat different from the original."

Wang Jinling raised her eyebrows and glanced at the rearview mirror. Shi Zirui understood what she meant, opened the door and got out of the car, then stood by the roadside and smoked a cigarette.

Chen Tinghan rolled down the window and said, "This place is a few hundred meters from the school gate, and there are students coming and going. She's a teacher, so she needs to be careful about the impact."

Wang Jinling couldn't help laughing. She leaned forward, honked the horn, and then put two fingers on her lips. Shi Zirui on the other side understood, rolled her eyes charmingly at Chen Tinghan, and stomped out her cigarette on the ground.

After closing the car window, Wang Jinling finally got down to business. She said meaningfully, "My classmates all praised my talent for composing such a beautiful piece of music."

"You say so too?" Chen Tinghan asked.

"I wouldn't dare be so shameless," Wang Jinling said. "After all, the original song is there, right? You recognize it, too."

The question raised was the most important thing next, an absolutely crucial turning point. Now that she had played the first card, it was Chen Tinghan who was facing the problem. The safest way was to play dumb, but that was too tactless. She had already revealed her cards. If she continued to pretend to know nothing, what she would get in return was her silence and countless backstabbings until he was exposed.

This is Wang Jinling. There is no reason not to confirm her suspicions. If it is the person who came later, it doesn’t matter whether it is true or false, or whether it exists or not. Whichever one she is willing to believe is the fact, then that is the fact.

Living with secrets is too tiring. She can do whatever she wants because she has already made her cards clear, but Chen Tinghan cannot do that, so he is naturally at a disadvantage.

In that case, it would be better to make things clear upfront and hear what she means by cooperation.

It’s so interesting to see Wang Jinling talking about collaboration with Chen Tinghan.

I decided to make it clear, but the more I make it clear, the more obvious it is, or whether it is truly aboveboard. There are some considerations.

At least, in his opinion, Wang Jinling's test was not fair enough. It was only half a song, half true and half false, and it was difficult to distinguish, so Chen Tinghan could not tell the whole truth.

"What's the name of your song?" Chen Tinghan asked.

"It's called, 'A Song Not Written for Anybody.'"

"Although this might confuse you, I actually looked up the song title before coming here and couldn't find anything online. But I somehow feel like I've heard this melody before, and I remember it very clearly. It's pretty much the same as what you sang, except for a few details that I think are a little different."

"It's normal that there's no information available," Wang Jinling said with a smile, "because this is a song that hasn't been released yet."

"To be precise, it should be a song that may not have appeared in the original author's mind yet?" Chen Tinghan suddenly said.

Wang Jinling put her legs on the armrest and suddenly exhaled inexplicably. She said, "Where did you hear that?"

"I, can't tell."

Wang Jinling stared at him, her gaze unwavering, her gaze as sharp as a torch. "You're not at a loss for words, are you?"

"What kind of explanation do you want to hear?" Chen Tinghan threw the question back.

Wang Jinling didn't say anything, just stared at him.

Chen Tinghan also understood that this trick wouldn't fool her, and that fooling her wasn't enough. He had to take the initiative, expose her flaws, and see if she was really Wang Jinling or the future King of Wanghai. He continued, "Not only have I heard of it, I also roughly know the timeframe in which it's supposed to be released: it should be a year or two from now."
