Chapter 24 Aoi and Poetry

If there's one thing Chen Tinghan couldn't understand or figure out from the beginning to the end, it's women, especially girls like Wang Jinling, who are inherently mysterious.

He really couldn't understand why Wang Jinling had such an attitude in the end, and what her final smile meant.

Since he couldn't figure it out, he just stopped thinking about it. He had more important things to do.

That is, go home.

It has been more than half a month since his rebirth, and he has to go home every weekend. Despite this, Chen Tinghan still feels uneasy when he sets foot on the path leading to his community. The more he cares, the more worried he becomes.

The amazing thing was that every time he walked down the path and entered his home, all his doubts would instantly disappear into thin air, and his brain, which had been circulating between the two worlds and being chased by countless tragedies and the souls of the victims in the tragedies, would only stop for a moment and rest.

Today, only his mother Cheng Zhilan is at home.

The glass door serves as a dividing line, separating the living room and kitchen. A gentle breeze drifts in from outside, while the heat of the moment rages inside. A soup pot and a wok simmer simultaneously on the stove, mingled with the unbearable roar of the range hood. Ms. Cheng, wearing headphones, looks down at something.

Most of the time, they are looking at the rankings of karaoke software.

She was once a school beauty, but for some reason, she married the burly, burly Old Man Chen. These were Ms. Cheng's own words: she thought Old Man Chen had been drugged, and had lost half his life in the mundane world of food, clothing, housing, and transportation. But she was no old-fashioned person. Whenever she had free time, she wanted to develop some hobbies and even signed up for singing lessons.

Unfortunately, she has too little personal time. Both of her children are in the stage where they need the most money. Her younger sister is in junior high school and is at her most rebellious. Her older brother is not an easy person to deal with. At the end of last semester, he had a "fight" with someone and was invited to the court to meet the emperor.

Like her brother, her younger sister was originally a good student with above-average grades. However, one's grades plummeted in high school, and the other's grades dropped in junior high school due to excessive pressure, and she also suffered from depression and insomnia.

We two are really a cause of worry, Chen Tinghan thought.

He just stood outside the kitchen, staring at his mother in silence. After a while, she finally turned her head and was startled to see a 5'8" tall man standing at the door. He couldn't hear what his mother was saying because of the door and the noise of the range hood, but judging by her almost throwing gesture and fierce expression, she must have been scolding him harshly.

The wicked man laughed.

The door opened, and Ms. Cheng stood on tiptoe and patted the silly boy on the head: "You scared me to death."

Chen Tinghan poked his head into the kitchen, glanced at the dishes, smacked his lips and said, "My dad and sister will be back today."

Ms. Cheng asked curiously, "How do you know?"

"How about you cook a whole table of dishes like this?" Chen Tinghan grinned and said, "When I'm at home, you just give me boiled pork belly."

"What? Are you saying that I'm biased?" Ms. Cheng raised her brows and looked unfriendly.

"I dare not."

The mother and daughter were having a great time together, and soon, Father Chen also returned home with his daughter. His father was a big, strong man with dark skin. He had had a crew cut for as long as Chen Tinghan could remember, and he often loved to touch his egg-like head. His hair was short and hard, like the quills on a hedgehog.

A father who looked like a bear gave birth to a tall, thin, fair and tender daughter, and named her Shikui, Chen Shikui.

The little girl has just entered junior high school and has not grown up yet. Although she has pretty features, she has not yet gotten rid of the immaturity of her childhood. She has been the apple of her parents' eyes since elementary school. Her somewhat indulgent upbringing and her quick thinking that exceeds that of her peers inevitably make her a little arrogant on the surface.

She is very similar to me. Her student life has been full of twists and turns. Now she is among the top students, but later due to various things, she was forced into a dead end.

But this guy seemed to have never taken his brother seriously since he was a child. When he got home, he took off his shoes, glanced at his brother, and turned back to his room.

As soon as she closed the door, Ms. Cheng poked her head out and called out to the two "idle" men in the house, "What are you standing there for? Come and serve the food! Go get your sister!"

Chen Tinghan shrank his head, walked towards the door, and then walked back to the dining table without doing anything.

He didn't knock on the door. Anyway, there was no response even if he called out. I had to yell at her later. Only after I yelled would this rebellious girl react.

As expected, after a table of delicious dishes was served, Ms. Cheng started to roar like a lion: "Stinky girl, I've called you so many times, why don't you come out to eat? The food is cold!"

The little girl reluctantly moved to her seat in her bear pajamas.

She has been thin since she was a child, doesn't eat much, and always dislikes the food cooked at home. On the other hand, Chen Tinghan usually likes to keep things simple, and he has the nostalgic feelings of a reborn person, so he eats with relish, listening to his mother chatting about family matters at the dinner table, and then asking about Shikui's grades. At this time, she is most impatient and usually responds with a few words, such as "it's just like that".

Then Cheng Zhilan would get angry and complain, saying that now she couldn't even ask. Such conversations were so common that one's ears became callused. This was the only thing Chen Tinghan didn't miss.

He smiled and began to change the subject, saying, "I met Sister Fei today."

"Which Sister Fei?" Cheng Zhilan was puzzled.

"He used to run a bookstore and a jade shop in the old street. He still remembers us." Chen Tinghan mumbled incoherently while chewing on chicken wings.

"Oh, that rich second generation, does she still remember you?"

"I remember, and she even asked about you guys." Chen Tinghan said, "She hasn't changed much compared to before. She's still wearing designer clothes. I guess her business is getting bigger and bigger."
