Chapter 34: Women Dress to Please Themselves

Many students complained about the distance from the playground to the dormitory building, but it was only five minutes away. I guess no one would think that five minutes of walking with her on campus was long.

Boys with ulterior motives will only feel that it is short-lived, and although Chen Tinghan cannot be called a freak, he also feels that the conversation will probably come to an abrupt end, which is not very pleasant.

Fortunately, when she reached the dormitory building, she finally turned her head and said, "Why would you feel offended? This is the game I proposed myself."

"So, am I right?"

Wang Jinling laughed and said, "Actually, I don't even have the qualifications to have a bad relationship with my parents."

Chen Tinghan stopped, his heart trembling. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to have his subordinates enter the school as teachers to monitor his daughter's parents.

"It's not that I didn't want to tell you, but I felt the answer was a bit heavy and would only cause you more unhappiness." Wang Jinling said, "Besides, family is a very complicated proposition. I thought you would guess something happier."

"Something more pleasant?" Chen Tinghan responded with his mind churning.

Wang Jinling suddenly winked playfully and whispered, "For example, my measurements."

“…” Chen Tinghan almost choked.

Then he shook his head. He might have taken the first step to reveal the mystery of her family, but he didn't have the ability, nor would he be so tactless as to interfere in other people's family problems. At least for now, Chen Tinghan had no opportunity to intervene.

But no matter what, unlike Wang Jinling who was destined to go down the wrong path at the end of her senior year of high school, her father Wang Kai was a real villain who had been torturing Wang Hai for decades and was the target of Chen Tinghan's quick elimination.

He had to get involved no matter what.

Chen Tinghan suddenly asked, "Senior, do you have any plans for this Golden Week?"

Wang Jinling looked at him strangely. He smiled and said, "I feel like my grades haven't improved enough. I want to take advantage of the holiday to make up for it. Yeah, make up for it."

Wang Jinling understood. She smiled gently and was about to speak, but fell silent for some reason. Her gaze drifted to the side and saw a figure vaguely appearing from the stairs.

Immediately, as if carried by the breeze, she moved closer to Chen Tinghan, almost to his ear, and whispered softly, "Then I'll wait for your call."

The girl was blown in by the wind and left like smoke, leaving behind only the itchiness of her black hair brushing against her cheeks and a warm, refreshing fragrance.

It’s over. This was the first thought that came to Chen Tinghan’s mind.

As expected, the dormitory building was in an uproar. The noise scared the dormitory manager on the first floor so much that she jumped up from her plastic chair. She thought these students were going to rebel, and when she came out quickly, she saw the people making a fuss, and her face was bewildered.

Chen Tinghan just felt tired, and then he turned sideways and saw Li Zishan blinking constantly and Wu Jiaju who was angry, and he felt even more tired.

Fortunately, he did not face the torture of the two men. Unfortunately, under Wu Jiaju's gaze, the originally scheduled dinner for four people was cancelled. Chen Tinghan didn't think it was a big deal, but Xu Jingwen wanted to tear him apart.

Because he had originally planned to invite Wu Jiaju for a walk alone after dinner today. Of course, it was a "walk" with a purpose. Confessions, holding hands, and kissing were all carried out smoothly according to the plan.

He was even a little nervous and said that he had forgotten to prepare that thing. If things went too smoothly later, there might be problems due to lack of equipment.

Chen Tinghan envied his optimism, and at the same time gained a deeper understanding of Wu Jiaju's words "boys are all monkeys".

His eyes looked like a nagging woman, filled with endless resentment. Chen Tinghan had no choice but to promise Xu Jingwen that he would give him some advice next time.

In short, the four-person game became a private chat between best friends.

They were strolling on Chengmao Street, but were afraid of bumping into the two boys. If they were ordinary girls, they would probably avoid the school and go somewhere farther away, but Wu Jiaju was a little queen. She ordered Xu Jingwen that if he dared to create an "accidental encounter" on the street, Wu Jiaju would ignore him for a week.

So the two girls held hands and went shopping happily.

As they walked, Wu Jiaju suddenly said, "I don't like that woman. She's vicious, pretentious, and has ulterior motives."

Li Zishan was shorter than her best friend, and holding her hand made her look like a younger sister, but she didn't mind. Suddenly she laughed and said, "I didn't know you knew so many idioms."

Wu Jiaju was furious. He pinched the other person's hand and glared at him, saying, "I just strayed from the topic in my essay. I'm not stupid!"

"Okay." Li Zishan chuckled and replied, "You hate her, yet you stayed in the student union for so long?"

"That's because I didn't think it through before." Wu Jiaju frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Wu Jiaju explained, "Although that woman was annoying, I couldn't find any flaws. If you were to say I was jealous, there was definitely some. So later on, I wanted to prove that I was no worse than her, so I kept competing with her. I thought I was competing with Wang Jinling, but later I realized I was actually competing with myself."

"Finding an opponent for yourself is too tiring." Li Zishan said sincerely, "Besides, you are no worse than anyone else."

Wu Jiaju smiled gently and said, "Actually, I admired her a lot at first. She was so outstanding that it seemed as if she was the only standard in the world."

Li Zishan asked, "At the beginning, was it different later?"

Wu Jiaju hummed and said, "Then something happened that made me realize that she actually didn't care about anyone else around her. She knew everything, but she didn't care about anything."
