"Bah, bah, bah! Damn!" Yu Ze was instantly ejected.
Qiao Xi stared at the statue closely, but did not notice any unusual movement.
She touched her nose and muttered softly: "Did I guess wrong?"
“Josh…” A gnashing voice came from the side.
Josh grinned guiltily: "Captain, I know I was wrong."
With a "slap", a slap hit her forehead: "Little bastard, if I don't punish you for three days, you will still go up to the roof and tear down the tiles!"
Qiao Xi touched his head and quickly changed the subject: "This body, the cause of her death is so mysterious."
Yu Ze sat down next to him and ate some fruit from the altar: "I'm hungry, and my brain is not working."
The noisy footsteps outside were approaching rapidly.
The two looked at each other, and Yu Ze quickly took the corpse and hid behind the statue.
This was the scene that Yuexi saw when he opened the door of the ancestral hall and walked in.
Qiao Xi sat obediently at the desk, concentrating on copying a book.
Seeing Yuexi push the door open, Qiao Xi pretended to block the light with his hands: "Aunt, why are you here?"
Yuexi glanced around the ancestral hall and asked, "Are you alone?"
Qiao Xi looked at her in confusion: "Yeah, could there be someone else? You locked the door, who would come in?"
Yue Xi stared at her coldly for a long while, and when he saw that she looked calm and not at all timid, he moved his gaze away and asked the people behind him to look at the side halls on the left and right.
"Aunt Yuexi, there's no one on the left."
"Aunt Yuexi, there's no one on the right either."
Yuexi felt a little relieved then. He turned around and left with his men, locking the door again.
Qiao Xi listened to the footsteps going away outside the door and turned to look at the statue: "Do you think they really believe in you? How come they didn't even notice that the posture and details of your statue have changed so much?"
A gust of wind blew from somewhere and brushed her cheek.
Josh tucked his long hair behind his ears.
Yu Ze carried the corpse out from behind the statue and placed it on the ground.
The two studied the corpse for a long time but still couldn't find anything abnormal.
Apart from the lack of vital signs, the corpse behaved almost identically to a living person sleeping. Even after so long, the corpse was still warm.
The door was pushed open with a bang.
Fortunately, Qiao Xi was quick and pulled the spider silk almost instantly, hiding Yu Ze.
But it was too late for the body.
She didn’t put spider silk on the body.
Yue Xi stood at the door with a cold face. When she saw the corpse on the ground, her face instantly became very ugly.
She was about to blame when Qiao Xi suddenly rushed over and threw herself into Yuexi's arms: "Aunt, it's so scary!"
Yuexi had never been hugged like this before, and her mind was stunned: "How dare you!"
Qiao Xi held her tightly and insisted on getting into her arms: "How horrible! How horrible! There's a dead person!"
Yuexi used all her strength but still couldn't pull Qiao Xi off her body. She looked at the people around her in anger and said, "Are you dead? Why don't you pull her away!"
"Yes!" The people next to him came up hurriedly and barely managed to pull Qiao Xi off Yue Xi.
Several people couldn't help but be shocked.
Who has the courage to embrace the monthly interest?
The priestess was really frightened out of her wits.
Yue Xi looked at her coldly: "What else do you have to say about this corpse?"
Josh looked confused and shocked: "What did I say?"
Yuexi frowned unhappily and took a step closer: "Let me ask you, this corpse wasn't there just now, how come it suddenly appeared?"
Qiao Xi pointed at the statue with trembling hands: "It's the Lord of the Sea. I don't know where a body was thrown down from."
"How dare you!" Yuexi shouted, "Do you think you can slander Lord Poseidon?"
"Really?" Qiao Xi looked at them innocently: "Look carefully, didn't you notice that Lord Poseidon's posture has changed?"
Upon hearing this, several people looked in the direction of the statue.
Upon closer inspection, there does seem to be a difference.
Yuexi's face changed and he knelt down quickly. Several people beside him also knelt down in unison, with looks of panic on their faces.
Qiao Xi even added fuel to the fire: "I really think that it was the Sea God who chose me. Auntie, didn't you notice? Since I was in the ancestral hall, the Sea God seemed to be waking up. Could I be the woman chosen by God?"
Monthly interest: "..."
Others: “…”
It was really Josh's expression of pretending to be surprised but actually secretly showing off that seemed too ridiculous to others.
Even though they saw the changes in the statue and vaguely guessed that what Josh said might be true, they didn't want to agree with her.
Qiao Xi smiled slightly and leaned over: “Aunt~Why don’t you speak?”
Yue Xi looked at her expressionlessly: "Then tell me, what's going on with this corpse? Why did it appear out of nowhere?"
Qiao Xi pointed at the statue and lied, "It seems that the Sea God doesn't like this woman very much, and suddenly a divine light appeared, and this body was left here."
"Is that so?" Yuexi looked at her suspiciously.
Qiao Xi nodded firmly: "Aunt, why would Lord Poseidon hate this corpse? Where did the corpse come from? Did Lord Poseidon kill someone? Is he going to wake up? I saw that many details on his statue have become delicate."
After hearing this, Yuexi’s doubts were completely dispelled.
She ignored Josh's "a hundred thousand whys" and walked quickly to the statue.
Qiao Xi's face remained calm, but he couldn't help but slow down his breathing for a moment.
Yu Ze was hiding behind a statue at a distance.
