Josh looked at the empty room in a daze and touched his chest.
She originally wanted to stay in Bourne City to practice, and now that her wish had come true, she was too happy to express it, but for some reason her chest felt stuffy and swollen, as if a huge rock was pressing on it.
Josh put it all down to being unaccustomed to it.
She took a deep breath, turned into the bathroom with her clean pajamas, took a good shower, washed her hair, and changed into pajamas that smelled of sunshine.
After doing all this, she sat cross-legged on the balcony, but she couldn't calm down to practice.
"What's going on?"
Qiao Xi puffed his lips, stared at his hands with bated breath, and went downstairs to the kitchen to find something to eat.
There was nothing edible in the empty refrigerator and kitchen.
She was silent for a moment, then turned and went upstairs to her room.
It’s the New Year, but her master is not around, so how can she celebrate it?
Josh leaned on the balcony railing, staring at the sky outside in a daze.
In the past, it was so lively when we celebrated the New Year together.
The master and senior sisters loved to buy her new clothes, braid her hair, and dress her up beautifully.
The senior brother liked to take her to the back mountain to catch magical pigs, and they would kill one every year.
The pigs in the back mountain are the hardest to catch!
Every time she made a mess, her beautiful clothes and braids were all dirty.
But it doesn’t matter, because it’s always the senior who gets scolded.
During the New Year’s Eve dinner, the entire sect eats together.
At noon, the entire sect had a grand banquet together. In the evening, the outer disciples had a bonfire party and enjoyed themselves, while the inner disciples accompanied their master and their sect to have dinner on their respective peaks.
This is Josh’s favorite part because he can get lucky money!
The senior brothers and sisters would perform a show every year, which was called "the high-end version of the Spring Festival Gala in the world of immortal cultivation", and the only two people in the audience were the master and her.
It wasn't until the second half of the night that the noise slowly died down.
Qiao Xi looked blankly at the sky which had turned dark without her knowing when, and she could not find a reason to stay.
The sect is her home, and she always has to go back home.
The Federation world is where she came from, but it is not her home. She does not feel a sense of belonging here...
You see, on a holiday like this, everyone has somewhere to go and no one can take her in.
That home wasn't her home either, it was Susanna's home.
Qiao Xi sighed quietly. It was obviously his own choice to stay in Bourne City secretly. Why should he be so hypocritical...
She stared at the starry sky and thought so.
"Qiao Xi? Why haven't you gone home yet?" Yu Ze's voice suddenly sounded.
Qiao Xi suddenly straightened her back. Was she hallucinating?
A mighty General dropped from the sky and hovered in front of her balcony.
Yu Ze's familiar handsome face stretched out from the car window, and his dark eyes stared at her without blinking.
