Qiao Xi lay back on the bed, and just as he was about to calm down, he suddenly felt an extremely sinister aura approaching.
This is not one of those small-time ghost monsters.
Qiao Xi became alert without making a sound, and his hand under the quilt secretly clenched the long knife at his side.
The faint sighs of an old man came from all directions, as if mixed in the wind, and could not be heard at all if one did not listen carefully.
Outside the door, there was the sound of a woman's high heels stepping on the floor, approaching little by little.
In the group, Rob suddenly sent a message to Josh: [Did you hear any footsteps? ]
Josh: [I heard it.]
Rob: [Wow, wow, wow, I'm scared. Can you come to my room and sleep with me? I'm in room 9.]
Qiao Xi ignored it and just listened attentively to the footsteps outside.
If she remembered correctly, the corridor outside was covered with thick carpet, and even if her high heels stepped hard, it would be impossible to make such a crisp sound on the floor.
"Knock knock knock", there was a knock on the door outside, but it was not Josh's door.
The sound seemed to come from the opposite side of her.
"Who is it?" Mina's dazed voice sounded as the door opposite opened, followed by a woman's soft voice: "Excuse me, have you seen His Highness Ceci? He doesn't seem to be in the bedroom. I can't find him anywhere."
"No, no!" Mina's voice was a little impatient.
"I see..." The woman's voice stretched out slightly: "Then where did he go?"
There was a dull thud of a heavy object falling to the ground. Qiao Xi listened attentively, and suddenly there was no sound outside.
A moment later, the sound of high heels sounded again, this time heading towards the room next to Josh.
The knock on the door sounded again.
Rob: [Wuwuwuwu, what should I do! She knocked on my door and I didn't dare to open it. What should I do? Josh, please open the door and save me! Please open the door and come to my room. Let's deal with her together!]
Josh frowned slightly. Rob just said he was in room 9.
The knock on the door she heard now was clearly from the next room. She was in Room 1, and the next door could not be Room 9.
A woman's long voice came from outside: "Sir, can you open the door? I'm looking for someone."
She knocked on the door again.
There was absolutely no movement inside.
Qiao Xi listened attentively. The knocks on the door outside became increasingly violent, and the woman's voice became sharper: "Why don't you open the door? Could it be that you hid His Highness Ceci?"
There was a loud bang on the door.
You could tell the woman's temper from the sound of the knock on the door.
"Open the door! If you don't open the door, I will have to climb up the chimney~"
The words sounded like a practical joke, but the tone was so dark that it made it seem more like someone was going to cut out a person's intestines.
A moment later, there was the sound of a door opening outside, accompanied by Rob's trembling voice: "Who are you looking for?"
The woman's voice returned to its initial slowness: "Looking for His Highness Ceci. It's so late, he should be sleeping in his bedroom."
Rob sounded scared. “No, I’m alone in my room.”
"Yeah?"
The woman's voice was a little softer, but Josh could still hear the noise outside clearly, as if the noises were deliberately transmitted to her ears.
There was a dull thud of something heavy falling to the ground.
Josh frowned slightly and heard the crisp footsteps of high heels in the corridor again, gradually fading away.
She yawned and closed her eyes.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, there was a knock on the door.
She suddenly opened her eyes and heard the long voice of a woman outside: "Hello, can you open the door? I'm looking for someone."
Josh sat up in bed warily.
A dangerous atmosphere was blowing outside the door.
Her intuition told her not to open the door.
The knocking on the door outside became louder and louder, and the door was shaking loudly.
The woman's voice became louder and louder: "Open the door! Open the door! Is His Highness Ceci in your room? Open the door for me! I want to go in and take a look!"
There was a prompt tone coming from the system.
Qiao Xi opened the panel and saw Yu Ze tagging her in the group chat: [Do you want to go out and take a look? I'm in the room on the other side of yours. If you open the door, I'll come out with you.]
She narrowed her eyes and didn't reply.
The woman outside was about to get angry: "Bitch! Open the door! What are you and His Highness Ceci doing in there?! You don't think this door can keep me out, do you?"
"If you don't open the door, I'm going to break it down and eat your intestines!"
As the door was knocked again and again, the light in the corridor seeped in through the gaps, which showed how hard the knocks were.
The fragile wooden door didn't look very strong. It was deformed by the force of the knocks, as if it would be smashed at any time.
Yuze was messaging her again: [Qiao Xi, are you okay? Do you want to come out? Let's deal with this woman together.]
Josh ignored it and closed the system message.
It gradually became quiet outside.
But Josh knew that the woman was standing at the door.
She seemed to be thinking about how to get in.
Josh's bed was facing the door, and the light from outside was faintly shining through the gaps in the carpet.
A rustling sound was heard.
She looked towards the door and saw something rustling under the crack.
Josh clenched the knife under the quilt.
She remembered what the chef had said and told her not to open the door no matter what noise she heard.
The carpet at the crack of the door was pulled open from the outside, and a beam of light leaked in.
