Perhaps it's due to his advanced age, but the Dragon King has been a bit paranoid lately.
He first suspected that his beautiful queen had another man in her heart, otherwise why would she always be absent-minded when she was with him?
Occasionally, she would smile sweetly for no apparent reason, as if recalling the time spent with her lover.
He had never seen such a deep and affectionate look in their eyes before, when they first fell in love.
Whenever this happens, a raging fire ignites in his heart.
He longed to chop off his lover's head with a knife, but the queen had said that a male dragon should not be jealous, but rather gentle, virtuous, generous, and sensible.
He secretly asked many of his people, and they all said that the queen's favorite thing was still his dragon.
The Dragon King had not yet found a way to resolve the crisis between his wife and son, and then he discovered that his son and youngest daughter also had something on their minds.
The eldest son is a dragon, born brave but brainless; the youngest daughter is a little octopus, cute but cunning.
They had always disliked each other, and their daily fights gave their father a headache. But in the last two days, the siblings' relationship had improved by leaps and bounds, and they spent all their time together whispering to each other.
He asked, but Zhen'er and Zhu'er remained silent.
They had their own little secret.
That day, after finishing his official duties, the Dragon King saw the brother and sister talking to each other, both wearing the same smile.
He decided to assert his authority as a father and quietly approached, wanting to hear what they were saying.
But his children grew up, became capable, and soon discovered him.
Then the Dragon King saw the two of them looking at him with frightened eyes, as if they had been startled.
Being looked at like that, the Dragon King, as an old father, felt a chill in his heart.
They don't want to see him.
Realizing this, and considering the Queen's absent-mindedness these past few days, the Dragon King knew that he had finally encountered what the human world calls a midlife crisis.
But the Dragon King refused to admit defeat.
He loved the Queen deeply, and he also loved the children.
Now that his youngest son is working tirelessly for the sake of the sea tribe's great cause, he must stay here and protect their home.
After a sleepless night, the Dragon King finally made a decision.
He wanted to win back his wife and children.
He recalled the storybooks he had read that came from the shore, in which virtuous husbands would wash their hands and cook soup for their wives.
The Dragon King decided to emulate that virtuous husband.
The sea creatures eat seafood from the ocean, and the queen's favorite food is the big crab.
He got up early and caught a few crabs, separated the meat and put it on a plate, arranging it into a flower shape.
The Dragon King, quite pleased with his cooking skills, carried the food into the house.
He saw the queen, dressed and made up, so beautiful and charming.
"Madam, it's time for your meal."
He placed the snow-white crab meat in front of the queen. This food, which used to bring the queen the most joy, now made her cover her nose and frown.
His eyes and brows were full of disdain.
I didn't think these foods were strong-smelling before.
After eating Mr. Lu's crab burger yesterday, she felt that the original crab flavor was too fishy.
She found the smell somewhat unpleasant.
"No need, I'm not hungry."
After Zhang Hou refused the Dragon King's flattery, she calculated that it wouldn't be long before Boss Lu set up his stall.
Boss Lu's business is good, and there are many customers, so she has to go early so she can eat sooner.
Thinking about the incredibly delicious crab roe burger and the fiery hot snail rice noodles she would be eating later, a smile appeared on the Queen's face.
Lost in thought, Zhang Hou didn't notice the Dragon King's sorrowful expression.
The Dragon King looked at the untouched breakfast and his heart sank to the bottom.
That look again!
Is that lover someone she longs for day and night?
"Ahem, my husband, I'm going to check on our daughter. You can have these."
Finding an excuse, Zhang Hou left impatiently.
In his palace, the Dragon King knocked over a plate.
He knew the queen was deceiving him; his two children had left home long ago, so how could the queen possibly look for her daughter?
She must be trying to get rid of him so she can have a tryst with her lover!
"You adulterer, don't let me find you!"
After venting his anger, the Dragon King lost heart again.
If the queen has truly changed her mind, how can this old dragon possibly win back his wife's heart?
Regardless, he had to take action.
At the very least, he had to find out the details about his lover.
Thinking of this, the Dragon King cheered himself up and finally followed behind the Queen, feeling resentful.
This isn't surveillance; it's for the sake of family harmony.
As expected, the Queen did not go to her daughter's residence at all, but left the palace directly. However, as the Dragon King followed, he felt that the route was a bit wrong.
It looks like they're about to go ashore.
The Dragon King was completely baffled until he surfaced and finally understood.
Humans!
It must have been that despicable human beings who seduced his wife, causing her to despise him.
He had heard that there are many cunning men among humans who will stop at nothing to please women, especially those who are rich and beautiful, who will be shamelessly pursued by such men.
No, he couldn't let his wife be deceived by those shallow men. In this world, he was the only one who would unconditionally treat her well.
With this in mind, the Dragon King went ashore.
As far as the eye can see, there are countless people.
"Selling candied hawthorns! Sweet candied hawthorns!"
"Sharpening scissors and knives!"
"Cotton doll, the same cotton doll as Tianjiao, is being sold cheaply, a clearance sale!"
The crowd was hawking their wares, and many vendors moved their stalls over here after learning that Lu Wu was setting up a stall on the beach.
There's no way around it; Boss Lu has a huge customer base, and there's never a shortage of customers wherever she is.
Some vendors also came here with their food stalls, trying to get a share of the profits from Lu Wu.
