Chapter 13 Going to the County (2)

The next day, at daybreak, Han Wanying packed up and went out. When she reached the village entrance, she saw Liu Guixiang and Wang Cui already there.

When Liu Guixiang saw Han Wanying, she quickly waved to her, signaling her to come over.

Han Wanying saw it and hurried over. When she got there, she found that there was an additional seat next to Liu Guixiang.

Liu Guixiang said to her, "Come quickly, girl. This is a seat reserved for you. Come up quickly."

When Han Wanying heard this, she didn't hesitate any longer and quickly climbed up and sat next to Liu Guixiang.

After a while, the ox cart started to move. This was Han Wanying's first time riding in an ox cart. In her previous world, she mostly rode on swords and flying boats, or chose a horse carriage.

Han Wanying thought that an oxcart and a horsecart should be similar, after all, they only used different tools to pull the carts. However, along the way, Han Wanying was so shaken that she began to doubt her life and almost vomited the breakfast she had this morning.

By the time Han Wanying's butt started to protest, they finally arrived at the county town.

Han Wanying quickly jumped out of the car.

Liu Guixiang looked at Han Wanying and said with a smile: "Look at you, girl, this is how it is for your first time riding in a car. You will get used to it later."

After hearing this, Han Wanying was so confused that her head and butt were blown away.

Liu Guixiang continued, "Girl, do you want to come with us or go shopping alone?"

Han Wanying replied, "Auntie, I'll walk around by myself. I'll look around. You guys go buy what you want."

Liu Guixiang heard Han Wanying's words and said, "Okay, then remember to come here on the 11th and then take the oxcart back. If you miss it, you'll have to walk. You have to pay attention to the time."

Han Wanying smiled and said, "Okay, Auntie, I'll be leaving now."

Han Wanying left after she finished speaking.

Han Wanying looked at the county town. The houses were dilapidated and there were red words on the walls: "Go to the mountains, go to the countryside, go to the poor and lower-middle peasants."

Han Wanying looked at the atmosphere in the county and complained in her heart: It's not even half as prosperous as it used to be down the mountain.

Han Wanying looked around, trying to find the place where private transactions took place in the county. Then she saw many people coming in and out of a small alley, and she knew it must be there.

Han Wanying first went into the public restroom to change her clothes, then took out a disguise pill from her space, and then took out the wild boar meat that she had processed last night, put a small half of it in her backpack, covered it with a cloth, and then carried it out.

Han Wanying entered the alley and saw two people guarding the door.

Han Wanying walked forward, and two people stopped her and asked, "Buy or sell?"

Han Wanying thought for a moment and said, "Sell."

Then the person at the door said, "10 cents for protection."

Han Wanying took out a dime from her bag and handed it to him. Then she let her in.

Han Wanying went in and saw many people selling things. She found a place and put down her basket.

My mind wandered and I thought of a very serious problem.

I quickly asked myself, "Xiaoyi, what's the current market price of pork?"

Xiao Yi replied, "The price at the supply and marketing cooperative is 50 cents per pound, and you need a meat ticket. If you do it privately, the price will be double. Master, your wild boar meat can be sold for 1 yuan."

Han Wanying thought about it and said, "Okay."

Han Wanying hadn't sat down for a moment when someone came over. She looked to be in her 40s, and judging by the clothes she was wearing, she must have come from a relatively wealthy family. She came over and whispered, "Girl, what are you selling?"

Han Wanying also lowered her voice and said, "Pork, wild boar meat."

The woman was delighted to hear this. She had two sons, and she, her husband, and their sons all had jobs, so they were not short of money. However, they had no meat to sell, and they didn't have much cash. They hadn't eaten meat in a long time. When they heard there was meat, they quickly asked, "How much is a pound?"

Han Wanying replied, "One yuan per pound, no bargaining."

The woman thought about it and decided that although the price was a bit high, there was no meat for sale at the moment, and she could accept one yuan per pound.

The woman said, "I want 10 jin (1000g) of meat. Please cut some meat that is a little oily for me."

Han Wanying lifted the cloth covering it and said, "Don't worry, this is all top-quality pork belly."

Then he took out a knife and borrowed a scale from the person next to him. He cut 10 kilograms of pork and gave it to the woman. The woman looked at the white pork belly in her hand, gave Han Wanying 10 yuan, and left happily.

When people saw Han Wanying selling meat, they quickly gathered around. An old lady squeezed forward and asked, "How much is a pound?"

Han Wanying said, "One yuan per catty, no bargaining."

The old lady exclaimed, "So expensive? Make it cheaper so I can buy more."

Han Wanying glanced at the old lady and knew from her appearance that she must like to take advantage of others, so she ignored her.

The old lady wanted to speak, but the person behind her yelled, "Are you going to buy it or not? If you don't, we will. Girl, give me 10 kilograms."

"I want five pounds."

"Leave 10 pounds for me."

The old lady was about to speak. After all, it was not expensive to eat at one yuan per pound, and this thing was hard to come by, so one yuan was not expensive. But she just wanted to take advantage of it.

Han Wanying ignored her and passed the charge to the person behind her, and then the old lady was squeezed out.
