Chapter 14 Going to the County (3)

By the time the old lady squeezed in, Han Wanying only had two taels of meat left.

The old lady was furious: "How can you run a business like this? I was here first."

Han Wanying said, "Don't you want to buy it?"

The old lady said, "When have I stopped buying it? Now it's all gone. Forget it. Just give me the remaining meat and I won't hold it against you. I tell you, you are also touching me and other people..."

Han Wanying didn't even wait for the old lady to finish her words, and said to the person who had just borrowed the scale: "Thank you for the scale, you can take the meat home and eat it." Then she handed the meat to him.

The person who borrowed the scale looked at the meat in his hand and was very happy. He thought that this person was really good at doing things. He smiled and replied: "Thank you, sister. Come back to borrow my scale next time. I don't want your meat."

Han Wanying smiled after hearing this.

The old lady watched Han Wanying give the meat to the person next to her and cursed, "You bastard, give him my meat. Give me my meat right now."

The person who was using the scale nearby heard the man asking for his meat and quickly said, "Auntie, you need to be reasonable. The girl just said she doesn't bargain, so you bargained and it definitely means you don't want it. Now that you didn't buy it, you still want the girl to give it to you. How can this be reasonable?"

There were a lot of people around pointing and talking, and the old lady saw that she couldn't get any advantage, so she walked away in shame.

Han Wanying looked at the person who borrowed the weight to speak for her, thanked him, then put on her backpack and left.

Han Wanying had just reached the entrance of the alley when the gatekeeper stopped her and said, "Sister, our boss wants to see you."

Han Wanying knew her opportunity had come when she heard it. After all, she had just sold pork so openly that she would definitely be noticed, and she just wanted to catch this big fish.

Han Wanying followed the man and walked around. When she saw the house in front of her, the man who was leading the way knocked on the door. After a while, someone came to open the door.

The two of them talked in low voices for a while, and then the person who came to open the door said to Han Wanying with a smile: "Sister, please come in."

The person who opened the door led Han Wanying into the courtyard and said to her, "Sister, wait here for a moment. I'll go call my boss."

Han Wanying nodded, and then the man went in.

After a while, a burly middle-aged man came out with a gleam in his eyes. He said to Han Wanying, "Sister, I'm sorry for bringing you here without any reason. We don't have any bad intentions. We just want to do business with you."

Han Wanying said, "Oh, I wonder what kind of business you want to start."

The boss said, "Let's be frank. Today, you're selling wild boars, right? They're not easy to hunt. I think there's someone skilled above you. Let's work together. You can sell me the prey you hunt in the future. You don't want to bother with that, do you?"

Han Wanying smiled and said, "I can't hide it from you, Boss. I have a capable person above me, so this business is not impossible. To be honest, I still have two wild boars on hand. But, Boss, how much do you want per pound?"

The middle-aged man also knew that Han Wanying was trying to gauge his sincerity, so he casually said, "Sister, you're straightforward. You don't have to call me Boss. I'm the fifth child, so just call me Fifth Brother from now on. How about we take the pork for 0.90 cents a pound?"

Han Wanying pondered for a moment and felt that the price was reasonable. Her base price was 80 cents, and 90 cents was beyond her expectations. She nodded and said, "Then, Fifth Brother, let's have a pleasant cooperation."

The fifth brother said: "That girl, where is this guy?"

Han Wanying said, "The goods are still with my brother. I'll go get them later. We'll trade them in the small woods on the edge of the county town in half an hour."

The fifth brother said: "Okay, I will ask my brother to get it when the time comes." The fifth brother patted the man who just opened the door.

Han Wanying nodded and said, "Okay."

Han Wanying left after the discussion and went straight to the grove. She had to make some arrangements first.

Han Wanying walked to the grove, disguised her messy footsteps, and then found a more secluded place.

Han Wanying took out the wild boar after she had made all the arrangements, and then, feeling that the time was about right, she waited for her fifth brother to come and pick up the goods.

Sure enough, someone came soon. Han Wanying became alert and heard someone shouting, "Sister, are you in front?"

Han Wanying saw that it was the man who opened the door and said, "It's me."

When the man heard Han Wanying's voice, he hurried forward and saw Han Wanying standing in front of him, with two wild boars, one big and one small, beside her.

The man didn't say much when he saw this. After all, he had to be careful in this private transaction, so he just asked someone to bring a large scale to weigh it.

The two wild boars weighed 328 kilograms, a total of 295.2 yuan. Then the man took out the money from his bag. Han Wanying nodded to them, saying it was okay.

Then when the men saw that there was no problem, they loaded the wild boar onto the cart and left without much communication between the two sides.

Han Wanying counted the money. She spent 63 yuan today. Adding this 295.2 yuan and the system reward, she is considered a rich person in this era. After all, the workers nowadays only make a little over 20 yuan a month at most.

Han Wanying walked out of the grove, took the antidote to the Disguise Pill, and planned to stroll around for a while, then buy some things and go back. She would then say that she had saved someone in the county and that the antidote was given to her by a noble person.

Han Wanying originally just wanted to make up an excuse, but she didn't expect that what she said would become a lesson in the end.
