Chapter 3: The Fight between the Two Tigers
After a long time, the door opened a crack.
The old lady with gray spots on half of her face stuck her head out and looked at Li Zhou timidly with her clear eyes.
Just as he was about to say something, a young boy with a pigtail hairpin squeezed out from the crack of the door. He looked Li Zhou up and down, with an indescribable sense of maturity.
"Who are you?" The crisp voice was quite pleasant to the ear.
But with this look, it feels so incongruous.
Li Zhou looked at the old man and the young man and said, "I am your great aunt."
The child's face turned green and he was about to speak.
Li Zhou carelessly pushed the two people aside and forced his way through the door, saying, "Back then, your great grandfather decided to sell me to that 300-jin stupid landlord for three taels of silver. I finally managed to survive, but was robbed by his bald-headed son. A packet of rat poison gave that beast away. I worked diligently to support his family. Sixty years have passed in a blink of an eye. I think going back to my hometown to take a look will make my life worthwhile."
The old lady and the young child opened their mouths slightly, stunned by what they heard.
While he was speaking, Li Zhou had already taken in the entire scene in the yard.
There were seven or eight huge baskets placed on the open space on both sides, filled with round red dumplings, emitting a faint fresh fragrance.
There is a row of bamboo baskets in the corner, and the baskets are filled with gold and silver ingots, exquisite jewelry, and colorful robes.
Li Zhou was surprised, and then his nose was sore: "When did you save up such a large family fortune? I am a married daughter. Even if you tell me, will I come back to seize this family fortune?"
Li Zhou was so immersed in the role that he couldn't help sobbing twice.
Old lady: "You mean those papers..."
"Auntie, you must be thirsty after all this travel, right?" The child rushed to speak, with an innocent smile on his face, which seemed a bit deliberate. "I'll go get you some water."
As he said this, he glanced at the old lady.
The old lady quickly shut up.
Li Zhou nodded with satisfaction: "Good boy, you are so filial."
She walked into the main room without any hesitation and sat down on the chair beside the incense table.
The young child took the old lady to the kitchen.
“That person…”
"Hush." The old lady was about to speak, but the child glared at her, quietly closed the door, and whispered, "Who can mistake paper money and paper clothes for real things?"
The old lady squatted on the ground, looking at the serious expression of the child, her heart beating very fast: "Is it difficult, is it possible..."
"That's a dead man!"
"ah……"
The young child covered the old woman's mouth with his hand and waited until she recovered before removing his hand.
The old lady opened her eyes wide and asked: "Could it be that he is deliberately deceiving us?"
"What does she want?" The child sneered, "Besides, nowadays, can any normal person enter the village? The officials sent by the court were all killed in the mountains. Who knows what kind of monsters and demons dare to come here."
"What should we do?" The old lady's eyes were filled with tears. "Grandma, are we all going to die here?"
"Coward! Why are you crying?" the child scolded. After the old woman held back her tears, she smiled. "I thought our village was really doomed. Now that this damned guy shows up, there is always a way out."
She had heard storytelling in the town that when two tigers fight, one of them will be injured.
I'm not afraid of this damn ghost coming, I'm just afraid that this damn ghost is not powerful enough.
The child narrowed his eyes, his mind turned, and he already had an idea.
…
"Strange, there were a lot of people in the room when I knocked on the door just now."
Li Zhou walked around the empty hall and saw no one, so he fell into deep thought.
Behind her, on the dark incense table, there was an animal-head incense burner, and it seemed that there were seven or eight small snakes entangled together, unable to be distinguished from each other.
Behind the incense burner is a picture of a deity with a red background. It shows a Bodhisattva with a peaceful face sitting on a lotus platform, surrounded by many children and babies lying on the ground. Each child has an innocent smile on his or her face, and they seem to be extremely happy because of the Bodhisattva's enlightenment.
Seeing Li Zhou's door wide open and looking outside without any precautions, the Bodhisattva's expression changed, and a hint of resentment flashed in his lowered eyes.
Beneath His seat, the smiling faces of the children and babies also became distorted, and their lower bodies began to stretch and stick together, forming a thin, smooth tail.
They used their tails to crawl out of the wall and along the bricks and stones towards Li Zhou's heels. They stretched out their forked tongues and opened their mouths eagerly, revealing their sharp fangs.
Li Zhou clapped his hands and said, "Could this be an underground gambling den? No wonder there's no fear of thieves even though there's a pile of gold and silver in the room. Hey, you're so arrogant. Are you going to kill me to silence me later?"
Her heart sank, and she paced back and forth in thought, have you never been to a casino or watched a movie? These gamblers dare to do anything.
She took off the ancient sword from her back. Alas, she didn't know if the female swordsman had any muscle memory. She didn't know how to fight.
Li Zhou performed a sword show with difficulty. He started by lifting, stabbing, poking, chopping and hanging. Wow, he looked pretty good.
The sword wind swept across her feet, cutting the twisted snake boys in half.
The sword intent wrapped around their flesh and blood, causing the monsters that were struggling to recover to scream silently. They broke into pieces and reassembled again and again, eventually exhausting all their vitality and turning into a pool of dead meat that could not be recognized.
It's still good to have a system, the characters have their own skills. Li Zhou breathed a sigh of relief and sheathed his sword.
She planned to use courtesy first and then force.
She wasn't here to sweep away the evildoers. She was not here to find out the news about the immortal and then leave.
Thinking of this, Li Zhou prepared to go back and sit down.
As soon as I lifted my foot, I felt something sticky on the sole.
I looked down and saw, oh!
Did it just rain? Where do so many earthworms come from?
Li Zhou jumped back to the chair on one foot, holding the chair with one hand, and used the scabbard of his sword with the other hand to poke off the earthworm ball that was stuck to the sole of his shoe.
"Auntie, the water is here."
A clear child's voice sounded at the door. Li Zhou turned to look at the child. The child was holding a teacup and looking at the soles of her shoes with a pale face, as if he had seen something extremely terrifying.
After all, he is a child, even earthworms are afraid of him.
Li Zhou shook the earthworm ball on the scabbard and said considerately: "Do you have a broom? Let me sweep it."
A cool breeze suddenly blew into the main room.
A corner of the statue hanging on the wall was blown up, and the Bodhisattva in the painting stared at Li Zhou with resentment. If that look could kill, she would have skinned her several times already.
Li Zhou was completely unaware.
The child's hands holding the teacup began to tremble wildly and uncontrollably.
Although he wanted to drive the tiger to devour the wolf, he never thought that this damn devil... no, this lord... would be so... so brave.
The tangled hair and flesh gave off a strong smell of blood. One could vaguely see a pale and broken face, revealing despair and horror. It was unknown what cruel means had been used to create this weird and deformed appearance.
This is a monster more cruel than the Viper God!
The young child thought weakly, if these two monsters fought each other, could they really survive?
