After all, each cultivator has different spiritual roots, different needs, and different foundations, so their focus will also be different. Naturally, the more cultivation techniques they have, the better, so as to better nurture their disciples.
Once categorized, the number would be far more than a thousand or even hundreds.
However, they can be roughly divided into two or three categories, which is also the general standard for most cultivators to choose cultivation methods.
The two types refer to the cultivation paths of metaphysical cultivation and spiritual cultivation.
As the name suggests, Xuanxiu (玄修) focuses on cultivating the physical body, also known as martial arts, body cultivation, etc., ultimately aiming to achieve physical invincibility and prove the Dao through strength. However, this path is difficult. Although the requirements for aptitude are not high, breaking through realms with the physical body is extremely difficult. To put it another way, among a hundred Xuanxiu practitioners, if someone can match the cultivation speed of a spiritual cultivator with three or even four spiritual roots, it is considered a once-in-a-millennium occurrence.
In this southern land, the most representative sect is the Yin Demon Sect of the demonic path. It is said that they were able to easily embark on this path and establish their own lineage by relying on ancient demonic artifacts. They are basically the only ones of their kind.
Although the ultimate paths may lead to the same destination, at higher realms, to attain enlightenment and ascend to immortality, magical power, physical body, and primordial spirit are all indispensable. However, at lower realms, there isn't enough lifespan to cultivate all three simultaneously.
Therefore, spiritual cultivation remains the mainstream in the cultivation world, with the main focus on cultivating magical power. Only when one reaches a higher realm and has a sufficient lifespan will one begin to cultivate the physical body and primordial spirit.
At that level, one's magical power is already extremely strong and constantly circulates throughout the body. Over the years, both the physical body and the primordial spirit have been strengthened invisibly, gradually transcending the mundane. Thus, cultivating the physical body and primordial spirit becomes much faster and more efficient.
Therefore, this involves higher levels of cultivation and their origins, the path to immortality trodden by ancient Qi cultivators one after another.
Ancient Qi cultivators established four levels of cultivation, which led to the brilliant and prosperous cultivation civilization we have today.
Refining essence into qi (Qi Refining, Foundation Building, Purple Mansion!), Refining qi into spirit (Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Out-of-Body Experience!), Refining spirit into emptiness (Dividing spirit, Merging with the Dao, Transcending Tribulation), Refining emptiness into the Dao (Mahayana!).
It encompasses ten major cultivation realms, with extremely clear divisions between them. If one wants to ascend to the Heavenly Immortal realm, this is basically the only path. Each realm has its main cultivation direction and characteristics. One must progress step by step until one attains enlightenment and ascends to immortality!
This is what cultivators call the Immortal Path, climbing step by step to the top, ultimately reaching the pinnacle of the Immortal Path, thus gaining the qualifications to attain enlightenment and ascend to heaven as a celestial being!
