Chapter 25: Spiritual Food is Most Important

There are countless birds and beasts in the back mountain of Cang Xuan Sect, all of which are raised by the sect.

After not having the spiritual food from Shiguang Pavilion for two consecutive days, Jiang Zhao set his sights on the spiritual beasts that were raised there.

Jiang Zhao did what he said and went straight to the back mountain of Cang Xuan Sect.

Chi Yuan followed behind and saw Jiang Zhao heading straight for the back mountain as if he was familiar with the route. He suspected that Jiang Zhao had often come to the back mountain of Cang Xuan Sect to have a meal.

Jiang Zhao knew about this doubt, but he would just shrug and say that since she was tired from fighting, couldn't she just find a place to fill her stomach?

The Spirit Beast Garden in the back mountain is very lively. A group of spirit beasts with similar strength gather together and perform a show of fighting each other.

Jiang Zhao stood at the entrance of the Spirit Beast Garden, where the "noobs" were still fighting each other fiercely.

"Hey, dinner's ready!"

There was a stone jar filled with water at the gate of the Spirit Beast Garden. Jiang Zhao gathered his spiritual power into a fist and knocked on the stone jar with a smile.

The water in the stone vat instantly boiled up, like a water dragon rising into the sky, and a loud bang exploded in the void.

The "newbies" who were pecking at each other heard the sound, stopped what they were doing, and turned their heads to look in the direction of the sound.

I saw a familiar smile on a strange face.

The spiritual beasts were not very intelligent, but they were all moved when they saw that familiar smile.

“Ahhh…”

“Roar, roar, roar…”

“Chuckle…”

Immediately, there was a riot in the spirit beast garden, and the spirit beasts roared and ran wildly.

Amid the chaotic roars, Chi Yuan heard panic.

In just a moment, those spirit beasts that were fighting each other as if no one was around had disappeared.

Jiang Zhao touched his nose and laughed, "Hide and seek?"

"Then you better hide well. If I find you, I'll... "

Jiang Zhao smiled and stepped into the Spirit Beast Garden, and began to play hide-and-seek with great interest.

The entire Spirit Beast Garden changed from its previous chaos and noise to silence.

Chi Yuan stood aside with a calm expression on his face, but was shocked by Jiang Zhao's words of hide-and-seek.

Other people's hide-and-seek is playing with people, but your hide-and-seek is playing with your life!

"I found you!"

Jiang Zhao dragged out a wind-walking deer from the bushes. It was a land-walking spirit beast used by the sect for transportation.

The dragged-out Fengxing Deer struggled frantically, but could not escape Jiang Zhao's clutches. It turned its head helplessly, hugged its two front hooves together, and bowed to Jiang Zhao.

Jiang Zhao glanced at Feng Xinglu and said, "I'm hungry."

Feng Xinglu understood immediately, and dug frantically with its two front hooves, and used its hind legs to carry Jiang Zhao to another low bush.

Then, Jiang Zhao picked up a red tapir from the bushes.

The red tapir first bared its teeth at Fengxinglu. If it could speak, it would definitely be greeting Fengxinglu's entire family.

The wind-swept deer ignored the red tapir's cursing and ran away with its hooves swung.

After baring its teeth, the red tapir clasped its front paws together and bowed repeatedly to Jiang Zhao. Then it pointed with its paw to show Jiang Zhao where another spirit beast was hiding.

Chi Yuan looked at Jiang Zhao's hands which never stopped, picking up one and changing it again.

And those spiritual beasts that usually only peck at each other perfectly illustrate the meaning of "I would rather die than let my friend die."

Until Jiang Zhao found a spirit beast that satisfied her, she refused to change it no matter what.

Dragging the struggling spirit beast, Jiang Zhao came back happily.

"Let's go back and have some barbecue."

Chi Yuan lowered his eyes to glance at the fat and strong black-backed pig, nodded, and asked, "What seasoning do you need?"

Jiang Zhao patted the storage bag on his waist and said proudly, "I have it."

Chi Yuan stopped talking. It turned out that everything was prepared long ago, except for the spirit beast meat.

The master and disciple dragged the screaming black-backed pig towards Linyuan Peak.

As soon as he left the Spirit Beast Garden, he was stopped by the disciples guarding the garden who had hurried over.

The disciple guarding the garden had a bitter face and looked humble.

"Master uncle, please show some mercy. This black-backed pig has been fed a lot of spiritual medicines and it's not time to be slaughtered yet."

"Oh," Chi Yuan replied calmly, "You've fed them well. When we're done roasting the meat, we'll ask your master to come and taste it."

When the disciple guarding the garden heard this, he almost cried in anxiety. This black-backed pig is not meant to be eaten.

"Junior Master, if you want to eat barbecue, I am willing to serve you. One-stop service."

The disciple guarding the garden was also very perceptive and began to plead with Jiang Zhao.

The rumor in the sect had long spread that the disciple who advanced five levels in one night was none other than the direct disciple of Master Uncle Chi.

Since he is a direct descendant, he must be extremely favored.

Jiang Zhao looked at the black-backed pig howling like a slaughtered pig, and said with some disdain, "Do you think you are the master of this pig? It howls like this."

"To be honest with you, Junior Master, I really treat him like a master and use him for my own benefit, so I provide for him every day."

The disciple guarding the garden spoke quickly, a light bulb suddenly flashing in his head, and he eagerly said, "Junior Master, the spirit beast meat at Shiguang Pavilion is cooked very well, with fat and lean meat, and it melts in your mouth."

"It tastes much better than this fatty black-back pork." The disciple guarding the garden added.

"Is Shiguang Pavilion open?"

Jiang Zhao's expression relaxed a little. He had heard many years ago that Shiguang Pavilion had seven unique delicacies and had always wanted to try them.

"It's not time to open the gate yet," the garden guard said. Seeing Jiang Zhao tighten his grip on the black-backed pig, he quickly added, "I'm a good friend of the chef at Shiguang Pavilion. Junior Master wants to eat some spiritual food. Just ask, and I'll call my friend to make it right away."

I have to say that the disciple guarding the garden was indeed smart. He rescued the black-backed pig from Jiang Zhao's hands with just a few words.
