Chapter 318 A Taoist Nun Visits

When Hua Changjue heard the news from Cuiwei, he knew that something bad was going to happen. He did not dare to delay and asked Hua Lingyi to continue to watch over the Pan family. He followed Cuiwei to the place where An Yi was staying.

As soon as he arrived at the place, he couldn't wait to ask An Yi, "How is it? Are they still there?"

He nodded, pointed directly under the roof, and then mouthed to Hua Changjue.

"Proclaiming in the daytime."

Hua Changjue understood immediately and said to Cuiwei behind him, "It's enough for us two to be here. You go to Yier and keep an eye on him. If anything happens, come and report to me immediately."

Cuiwei didn't think much about it, and quickly took the order and turned to leave.

Hua Changjue lowered his head and looked down through the hole in the roof. He ignored the two people making love.

Just by staring at the woman's face, in just a moment, he recognized who the woman was.

He retracted his gaze, frowned, and whispered to An Yi, "I know this woman!"

"She was the one from the Jiang family back then! She wanted to impersonate Jiang Quanling, but was discovered. In fact, her real identity is the daughter of Jiang Quanling's mother, Lin's sister. She is also Jiang Quanling's cousin."

Hua Changjue was a little suspicious. Weren't the Lin family's sister and her family exiled? Why were they here?

This woman is here, so would Lin’s sister Lin Hong and her husband Zhou Wenbin also be in Huaiqing Mansion?

He felt that things were becoming increasingly complicated.

An Yi was a little confused by what Hua Changjue said, but this did not affect An Yi's knowledge that Jiang Quanling was a fake.

An Yi said it, how could a good daughter of the Jiang family be a concubine of a seventy-year-old man?

"Master, what should we do next?"

"This woman not only knew the master's identity, but also told the whole story to the third son of the Chen family."

"If they let this get out, the consequences will be disastrous."

Hua Changjue narrowed his eyes, "Then don't blame me, cut the grass and eradicate it completely."

He whispered a few words to An Yi. An Yi's eyes lit up, nodded, and left quickly.

Hua Changjue jumped directly from the roof.

The residence of the prefect Chen Zhongyan.

Chen Zhongyan was in his study, admiring several paintings and calligraphy that were presented to him by his subordinates.

He is tall and thin, with a gaunt appearance, and looks like an elegant and dignified scholar.

Just as he was studying the brushwork of the calligraphy he was painting, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

His personal servant Xiao Si whispered, "Master, there is a Taoist nun outside the mansion who wants to see you."

Chen Zhongyan was a little unhappy about being interrupted. Without even raising his head, he said, "Just give him some money to get rid of him."

He thought that the Taoist nun was just like the monk, coming to beg for alms.

Xiao Si hesitated for a moment and then spoke in a low voice.

"Sir, that nun is not here to ask for money, she said she wants to see you."

"And she said that if you looked at her things, you would meet her."

"Said you would regret it if you didn't see her."

Chen Zhongyan frowned, raised his head, looked out the window, looked at Xiao Si and asked, "Who is it?"

He didn't remember any relationship between him and the Taoist temple, nor did he remember any Taoist nuns he knew.

Xiao Si also shook his head in confusion, "I don't know who the other party is either."

"But she gave her subordinate a wooden sign, saying that as long as the master saw it, he would know who she was."

Chen Zhongyan squinted at the black wooden sign in Xiao Si's hand. It was a little hard to see. He waved his hand and said, "Come in."

Xiao Si quickly pushed the door open and respectfully handed the black sign to Chen Zhongyan's desk.

Chen Zhongyan only looked at it for a moment, and his originally disapproving expression immediately became solemn.

He flipped the wooden sign over and placed it upside down on the table. He frowned and looked at Xiao Si and said, "Go and invite the person in."

Xiao Si was startled by his action, and quickly nodded and walked out.

After Xiao Si left, Chen Zhongshi turned the wooden sign over. The pure black wooden sign was engraved with ancient patterns, and in the center, there was a silver traditional Chinese character "丽".

He couldn't help but mutter, "I never thought that I would see this thing again after more than ten years."

The image immediately emerged in my mind: that woman dressed in purple, who was stunningly talented and so beautiful that one could not look directly at her.

So many years have passed, I wonder if she is still the same as she was then.

Xiao Si quickly brought the Taoist nun over.

The Taoist nun was wearing a gray Taoist robe and a bamboo hat on her head. Her appearance could not be seen clearly, but her figure was slender and slim, and she looked very similar to that man.

Chen Zhongyan's heart was beating fast, but he didn't dare to act rashly.

After she slowly walked into the study, Chen Zhongyan waved his hand and asked Xiao Si to leave.

"Go out first and close the door!"

"Also, I have something to discuss. If it's not important, please don't disturb me."

Xiao Si nodded and walked away, closing the study door.

Wait until you can't hear any footsteps.

Chen Zhongyan looked at the Taoist nun, unable to hide his excitement and nervousness. He asked carefully, "Who are you?"

The Taoist nun looked at his expression, raised the corners of her mouth, and without hesitation, took off her hat, revealing the face of a woman in her thirties without any makeup.

She has an oval face and delicate features. She must have been a beauty when she was young.

But Chen Zhongyan frowned and looked at her, obviously disappointed.

A trace of hatred flashed across the woman's eyes, but it quickly disappeared. She then curled her lips and smiled.

"It's been fifteen years since we last met. I hope you are doing well, Mr. Chen."

Chen Zhongyan narrowed his eyes, still holding the wooden token in his hand, and finally couldn't help asking, "What is your relationship with Princess Zijin? How did you get her token?"

The woman gritted her teeth inwardly and raised her eyebrows calmly.
