Chapter 39 I Want to Go Home and Find My Mother
The fire poker, still glowing with sparks, struck Wu Lianzhen directly, sending sparks flying everywhere!
"Ah! Xu Qingyi, have you gone mad?!"
The sparks burned right through Wu Lianzhen's prison clothes, startling her into screaming.
"You heartless woman, I'll beat you to death! If anything happens to my daughter, I'll kill you!"
No one expected that the usually elegant Princess Consort of Jin would become so eccentric.
It wasn't until Old Madam Xu rushed up that everyone realized what was happening.
"They've rebelled! Stop it right now!"
Luo Qing stepped forward to snatch the fire poker from Xu Qingyi's hand, but was startled when she turned around.
"what you up to?!"
Xu Qingyi's hair was disheveled, her eyes were bloodshot, and she looked like a madwoman.
"Don't come any closer! I won't leave until my daughter is found!"
Madam Xu turned pale and snatched her beloved grandson from Wu Lianzhen's hands.
"That little bitch is dead, but if you hurt my precious grandson, I will never forgive you!"
Xu Yinan's face was ashen as he looked at Wu Lianzhen and the others, and asked in a cold voice, "Who exactly is being unreasonable? Who threw the stick?"
Xu Qingshi's eyes flickered, and she didn't dare to look at them. Xu Qingyi immediately understood.
"So you're the one who's the slut! You're the one who ruined my daughter! I'll fight you to the death!"
Xu Qingyi rushed forward like a madwoman, scaring Xu Qingshi so much that she turned and ran away.
The entire courtyard was in complete chaos.
Meanwhile, Yun Zhao, who was at the center of the conversation, was being held in the tiger's mouth, his brain working at lightning speed.
She never expected that Wei Jingchen would actually cling to the tiger's neck and run away with it!
He's in the way here, how can she use the things in the space?
The tiger carried Yun Zhao through the mountains and forests, eventually leading the two into a cave.
The tiger placed Yun Zhao next to its den, where there were two cubs, one of which was already hardened.
It nudged Yun Zhao's back with its head and let out a low growl.
Yun Zhao stroked the stiff little tiger and sighed.
"It's already gone. I'll do my best to guard the other one. Can you go out and watch over it?"
"Waaah—"
The tiger whimpered softly and nuzzled the stiff-bodied tiger cub.
Even though Wei Jingchen didn't understand animal language, he could still sense the tiger's sadness.
"Brother Jingchen, could you go out and get me some water? Clean water."
Yun Zhao came up with an excuse to send him away.
Wei Jingchen glanced at the sad tiger, then at Yun Zhao who wanted to drive him away, and concealed the probing look in his eyes.
He asked with some concern, "Are you really okay here by yourself?"
Yun Zhao was overjoyed, and a childlike, innocent smile appeared on his face as he nodded emphatically.
"Yes! Don't worry, Brother Jingchen, Tiger won't hurt Zhaozhao!"
Having received Yun Zhao's assurance, Wei Jingchen turned and left.
Watching Wei Jingchen leave, Yun Zhao breathed a sigh of relief and took out fresh pork from his spatial storage.
"You should eat quickly, so you'll have the strength to protect the baby. Let me heal the baby's wounds first!"
Faced with the pork that appeared out of nowhere, the tiger trembled, took a few steps back, and then cautiously stepped forward to sniff it.
Once it was confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the pork, it began to eat with gusto.
Once he was sure it was willing to eat, Yun Zhao looked away.
The tiger cub's injuries looked like they were caused by tools, and considering the houses down the mountain, it must have been a trap set by hunters.
The mother tiger rescued the cubs, but the cubs were too badly injured and, combined with the cold weather, did not survive.
Yun Zhao took out medicinal powder from his spatial storage and sprinkled it on the wound. The cub immediately groaned in pain.
"Waaah!"
The tigress quickly turned around and bared her teeth at Yun Zhao.
"It's okay, it will hurt a lot when I treat its wound, don't worry."
While comforting the tigress, Yun Zhao didn't stop what he was doing.
To avoid arousing suspicion, Yun Zhao did not dare to use the cloth from his spatial storage directly, but instead used herbs.
After treating the wound, she applied crushed herbs to it and washed the leaves with spring water before bandaging it.
Before long, Wei Jingchen, who had been searching for a water source, also returned.
He didn't appear directly, but instead leaned against the stone wall at the cave entrance, carefully observing Yun Zhao.
Wei Jingchen didn't have the habit of prying into other people's secrets, but Yun Zhao's intention to win him over was too obvious, so he had to be on guard.
But after spending the last few days with her, he realized that Yun Zhao, this young girl, had no ill intentions towards him or his family.
What could possibly cause such a dramatic change in a person?
When Yun Zhao was still in the Dingyuan Marquis's mansion, he could only be considered more intelligent than his peers.
But now, Yun Zhao is sometimes hard to believe; he is actually just a five-year-old child.
After observing for a while, Wei Jingchen pretended to return from a distance.
"I'm back. How are you?"
"Brother Jingchen! I'm fine! The tiger didn't bite me, I'm perfectly alright!"
Seeing Wei Jingchen return with water scooped up in a leaf, Yun Zhao smiled and accepted it.
Wei Jingchen observed for a while and saw that the tigress was licking her paws, looking like she had already eaten her fill, which made him suspicious.
She said she was going to bring food to the tigress, and she actually did bring food?
But where did she get the meat to feed the tiger?
Yun Zhao wet his clothes and wiped the blood off the cub before washing his hands.
She looked intently at the tigress and negotiated with her: "Okay, tiger, tiger..."
I've bandaged up the baby's wound. You promised me you'd take me home and not hurt my family, okay?
"Waaah!"
The tigress nudged her with her head and then nudged her cubs to her side.
"Huh? You want me to raise your cubs? No way! I'm an exiled prisoner right now, it's too dangerous for me to take care of cubs!"
After saying that, Yun Zhao smiled, her eyes crinkling with a sly glint.
"Or, you could come with me, and I'll take care of the cubs for you, how about that?"
Wei Jingchen: ?
She still wants to take this tigress away?
The tigress tilted her head, let out a soft growl, and looked at her, as if considering the feasibility of her words.
"If it doesn't work out, I'm leaving. I want to go home and find my mother!"
After saying that, Yun Zhao scrambled to his feet, clapped his hands, and stretched out his short arms toward Wei Jingchen.
"Brother Jingchen, let's go quickly!"
Wei Jingchen raised his eyebrows slightly, took her hand, and helped her leave.
Realizing she was really going to leave, the tigress rushed forward to stop her.
"Mmm!"
Yun Zhao paused, her little face full of "I knew it" expressions.
"Then you'll come with me? I'll help you bury the baby first!"
Yun Zhao picked up a small stone, found a relatively soft spot, and began to dig a hole, huffing and puffing.
Seeing this, Wei Jingchen joined her in digging.
All I could hear was her muttering to herself.
"Little Tiger, I will help take care of your mother and brothers, so go in peace!"
Wei Jingchen listened attentively for a while, then couldn't help but smile.
It seems to be a kind-hearted cub.
After burying the tiger cubs, Yun Zhao picked some small flowers from the side and placed them on the small grave mound.
Only then did he lead the tigress down the mountain.
After walking only a few steps, the tigress, annoyed by her slow pace, lay down right in front of her.
"Let me go up? Thank you!"
Yun Zhao climbed onto the tiger's back with great excitement and waved to Wei Jingchen.
"Brother Jingchen, come quick, come up here!"
Wei Jingchen nimbly climbed onto the tiger's back, and the tigress carried the two of them down the mountain quickly.
