Inside the private room.
Ma Biao ate his food slowly and deliberately. "You really don't want to eat? Then you can't say I'm mistreating you. You chose not to eat."
Wen Shu crossed her arms, trying her best to gather her torn clothes, and huddled in a corner with her head down, not saying a word.
Ma Biao threw down his chopsticks. "I'll make one last call. If Li Duo's phone is still off, don't blame me for not giving you a chance tonight."
Ma Biao placed his phone on the dining table and pressed the call button.
This time, the phone didn't ring with the message "phone switched off," but instead played a waiting tone indicating that the call was connected.
"Hello?"
Li Duo's voice came clearly from the receiver. Wen Shu looked up abruptly; the call had gone through!
"Oh dear. I finally got through to President Li on the phone. Looks like we're on the same wavelength after all. Did you see the photos I sent?"
Li Duo was taken aback. "Ma Biao? What photo?"

Are you disappointed in me? Do you think I'm not as good as you thought?
Seeing Lin Jingyu's heartbroken expression, Li Duo's expression softened. "I didn't mean that."

Li Duo nodded, "Of course."
"Then can you not go?" Lin Jingyu asked again.

"Why can't I go? Aren't you here to protect me?" Lin Jingyu said, looking aggrieved.

Lin Jingyu was stunned. "Is it that serious?"
