Li Duo finally stood up and said he was going to find something.
Five minutes later, he returned empty-handed.
Wen Shu's expression changed drastically. "Where are the things?"
Li Duo didn't reply, but picked up his phone. "Jin Chao? Go to my office and see if that chain is in the drawer."
Jin Chao was taken aback on the other end of the phone, "Now?"
"Did I interrupt your date?" Li Duo asked, his gaze fixed on Wen Shu's face.
Jin Chao explained, "No, she suddenly said something came up in the evening and we'd postpone it to another time."
"That's good."
Li Duo hung up the phone. "Jin Chao, go find him now."
Wen Shu's expression softened slightly.
Li Duo asked, "Are you unhappy that your date tonight was canceled?"
Wen Shu was too lazy to talk to him and just wanted to take the things and leave.
"How desperate are you to try and seduce me, that you immediately switched to another man after failing to seduce me? Or is it that any man with a little money will do for you?"
Wen Shu looked at him in disbelief. Could a dog really spout ivory?
"That's true, you need to find a sucker who can help you raise your son."
Wen Shu couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Li, are you alright?"
Li Duo looked up and said, "I'm giving you this advice out of kindness. Jin Chao isn't stupid. It's fine to play around with him, but if you're going to be a sucker for him, you've probably picked the wrong person."
Wen Shu kept her eyes closed, not wanting to turn against him before getting the item.
"You guessed me?" Li Duo chuckled. "You can go to the Golden Summit Club. If it's a mutually beneficial arrangement, the men there are more suitable for you..."
Wen Shu suddenly stood up, but what she finally said was, "Mr. Li, you seem a little tired. I'll go downstairs and wait for Mr. Jin."
Li Duo remained seated, and Wen Shu, unable to open the door, turned to look at him. "Mr. Li, I'm not afraid to admit it, but I won't open your door."
Li Duo slowly stood up and went to open the door.
The door opened, and Wen Shu was about to go out when it was suddenly slammed shut.
Wen Shu was startled. Li Duo had already pressed her against the door. He moved closer to her, greedily inhaling her scent.
From the moment she entered the room, he had been restraining himself, trying not to be swayed by her aura.
Wen Shu's heart raced instantly. She suppressed her trembling voice and asked, "Mr. Li, what do you want to do?"
Li Duo's lips finally touched the skin of her neck. "Wen Shu, are you naive or stupid? Do you really think a man gives you his address for a cake?"
Wen Shu's jaw clenched. "What do you mean?"
"You came to me, so you should know what I mean."
Wen Shu stiffened. "Mr. Li, you're overthinking it. I didn't mean that."
Li Duo chuckled, "A single man's home isn't so easy to enter. It's a matter of mutual consent, what's with the coyness? Playing hard to get?"
Wen Shu was still holding back, trying her best not to break off relations with him: "Mr. Li, you've misunderstood."
Her breath tickled his ear, making his heart itch. "If it's just for fun, I think I'm more suitable than Jin Chao..."
Wen Shu couldn't take it anymore and raised her hand to hit him, but he grabbed it.
He held her limbs firmly, tilted his head, and accurately captured her lips.
Li Duo knew he was out of control; from the moment the door was slammed shut, he had no intention of taking control.
He held her arms tightly with one hand, pressing them against his chest, desperately trying to absorb her scent.
He controlled her however she struggled.
The innate physical differences between men and women made it easy for him to control her.
A passionate affair was about to erupt.
The doorbell rang suddenly.
"Ding-dong!"
Li Duo froze for a moment, then he lowered his head and bit her neck hard.
It left a deeper mark than last time.
He loosened his grip, and she was finally free. She pushed him away.
The flames of anger in his eyes seemed to want to burn him to ashes.
Li Duo took a step back, took out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag before he gradually calmed down.
"Ding-dong!"
The doorbell rang again.
Li Duo took a step forward, while Wen Shu took a step back warily. He reached out and grasped the doorknob, his fingerprint fell, and the door unlocked automatically.
Jin Chao stood outside the door and immediately noticed Wen Shu and the hickeys on her neck before quickly looking away.
"Mr. Li, I just went to the office, but I couldn't find it."
Wen Shu panicked and turned to look at Li Duo, her eyes clearly accusing him of playing her for a fool.
Li Duo countered, "There's no drawer?"
Jin Chao frowned. "President Li, the office you're talking about, it's not the one at Fengxing Plaza, is it?"
Li Duo looked at him. "You went to the Li Group Building?"
Jin Chao immediately said, "I'm sorry, President Li, I was wrong."
Wen Shu didn't say a word, and walked away. She felt a lump in her throat, unable to exhale or shout, and was almost suffocating.
They've gone too far!
Meanwhile, the driver reported, "Hello? Mr. Li, I personally saw Miss Wen enter the community gate."
"Um."
Li Duo held the phone, looking at the cake in front of him that was only half left.
My thoughts drifted a little far away.
Her face flushed red, her eyes blazing with fire, her soft, moist lips…
Li Duo suddenly grabbed the ashtray and smashed it against the door!
When Wen Shu returned home, Wen Rou Rou had already been coaxed to sleep by her grandmother.
The little guy lay on his back with his four paws in the air, like a chubby big frog, fast asleep.
Wen Shu propped her head up and stared at his adorable sleeping face.
After a while, she buried her face in her arms.
Behind the Li's Building is the Linjiang River, which used to be a stinking ditch. Ten years ago, after the Li's Building was built, it was transformed into a small park with flowing water, and now it has become a popular spot for taking photos in the surrounding area.
Wen Shu sat on the riverbank steps in a daze when someone approached from behind. She turned around and saw Li Duo standing behind her, holding her chain in his hand.
