Wen Shu stood up abruptly, "Mr. Li!"
Li Duo, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, lit it with a "pop" as a flame leaped out.
Wen Shu stared at the broken chain in his hand, but he showed no intention of returning it to her.
Wen Shu continued to wait patiently.
Li Duo gathered the dangling chain in his palm. "Is this thing so important that you're worth waiting here so early in the morning?"
Wen Shu pursed her lips. He hadn't shown the slightest remorse for what he had done last night!
"Mr. Wen, may I have it now?"
Wen Shu reached out her hand to him.
Li Duo opened the pendant's cover and looked at the photo inside: "Is your ex-boyfriend that important?"
Wen Shu stretched her hand forward again: "Give it back to me!"
Li Duo reached out and grasped her hand, avoiding hers.
Wen Shu pursed her lips and stared at him.
"If you're so hung up on your ex-boyfriend, why did you break up with him? Ah, I guess he dumped you? Or is the child you have his?"
Seeing that he had no intention of returning it, Wen Shu became a little anxious and stepped forward to snatch it, saying, "It's none of your business, give it back to me!"
The panic in her eyes ignited anger in Li Duo's heart. She was still protecting something left behind by a man who had abandoned her.
He dodged her attempt to snatch it, gave a mocking laugh, and suddenly raised his hand, throwing the item into the river with a "plop".
"Let me see what you're willing to do for him. Go ahead and pick it up."
Wen Shu felt her chest filled with anger, and her limbs were on fire, as if it was about to overwhelm her reason.
She stared at him, then jumped into the river!
