Chapter 50 Drink!

Wen Shu was speechless with anger. "So you're saying that all children who experience school bullying should reflect on why they were bullied?"

Li Duo was taken aback, and he immediately thought of Zhong Wanwan.

When Zhong Wanwan lost her mother as a child, her personality changed drastically. She became introverted and had low self-esteem, and soon became the target of bullying by other children.

He wasn't dealing with Zhong Wanwan, who was being bullied, but with the children who were bullying her.

Li Duo suddenly chuckled and glanced at her. "So fierce. You must have never been bullied as a child. You understand how bullies feel?"

Wen Shu asked, "Can I leave now?"

Li Duo glanced at her. "We're all going to the same ward. You got a little red flower because you arrived early?"

Wen Shu didn't want to talk to him at all. After he let go of her hand, she silently followed him to the ward.

Grandma's spirits had clearly improved. Seeing Wen Shu's tightly pursed lips, she couldn't help but smile and say, "Shu Shu, you're off work so early?"

Wen Shu smiled and said, "The new boss is very nice. I've taken the day off."

"It's not easy to find a good boss, so you need to work hard."

Wen Shu nodded, "Yes. Grandma, did you have your porridge for lunch? Was it hot when you ate it?"

Grandma immediately laughed and said, "The lady in the next bed said she couldn't finish it, so I ate hers. It's still warm."

Wen Shu couldn't help but thank Second Grandma Li: "Second Grandma, thank you for taking care of my grandmother."

Li Duo glanced at Second Madam Li. This old lady wasn't that kind; she just liked to put on an act in front of outsiders.

The caregiver smiled and said, "Your husband isn't around, and you have to go to work, take care of the children, and look after the sick elderly. It's not easy."

Li Duo's brow twitched. Husband?

The caregiver explained to him, "Her husband went to Africa to work on railway construction for the locals and is away from home most of the year."

Li Duo looked at Wen Shu with a puzzled expression.

Wen Shu guiltily looked away. This was what she had always told Rou Rou, otherwise the children at school would bully children without fathers.

Li Duo was so angry he laughed. If she really had a husband, he would want to kill her right now.

He asked, "Have you registered your marriage?"

The caregiver was taken aback and looked at Wen Shu.

Wen Shu opened her mouth and whispered, "No."

The fact that they didn't have a marriage certificate means that the little boy was an illegitimate child.

Madam Li's expression immediately changed; she hated lowly maids who lacked self-respect the most.

"Li Duo, go check on this ward. What's going on? It's been several days and there's still no vacant room."

Li Duo said, "The hospital was recently acquired, and the new campus is still under renovation. If you're in a hurry, I'll think of another way for you."

"I just don't like living with people, I find the air smelly!"

Li Duo chuckled, "Then I'll think of another idea for you."

Wen Shu's heart jumped; she was worried that Li Duo would send her grandmother away again.

She felt a little relieved after not hearing Li Duo speak.

Wen Shu calculated the time when Rou Rou would get out of school. "Grandma, I'll go pick up Rou Rou and take him home to eat. I'll bring you some food later."

Grandma also sensed the change in attitude from the woman in the next bed. She patted Wen Shu's hand, looked into her eyes, and said, "I'm fine."

Not long after Wen Shu left the ward, Li Duo also left, and he intercepted Wen Shu downstairs.

Wen Shu stopped and looked at him, asking, "Mr. Li, is there something you need?"

"Make things clear. I'm not so desperate as to sleep with someone else's wife."

Wen Shu lowered her eyes, "He was going abroad, so we broke up. Later, I found out I was pregnant, and I couldn't contact him anymore."

“I didn’t originally plan to have children, but the doctor said I had ovarian cysts that could cause infertility. Getting pregnant at that time actually helped the cysts to be absorbed and heal on their own.”

"Rou Rou is my lucky star, and I have never regretted giving birth to him. I'm sorry if this makes Mr. Li uncomfortable."

Li Duo stared at her delicate forehead. "I'll take you."

Wen Shu was afraid of sitting in the same space as him; she had been nervous ever since she got into the car.

It turned out that this person had probably been too crazy that day and was exhausted. After sitting down, he didn't make any big movements, but instead kept staring at her fingers.

Wen Rou Rou was queuing up with the other children when she looked up and saw Wen Shu. The little guy calmly waved to her.

When Rou Rou's classmates' parents saw Wen Shu, they instinctively avoided her, but Wen Shu didn't care at all.

The apology letter is still posted on the door, meant for the parents who signed it to kick Rou Rou away.

Wen Shu held Rou Rou's little hand, and Rou Rou walked along, saying obediently, "Shu Shu is here to pick up Rou Rou."

Wen Shu smiled and said, "Yes, Shu Shu will come to pick up Rou Rou every day from now on."

Wen Rou Rou was hopping around, and you could tell at a glance that the little guy was in a good mood.

After returning home, Wen Rou Rou rummaged through the lunchbox in her hand, "Shu Shu, what's this?"

Wen Shu took off her coat. "It's for Rou Rou to eat."

Wen Shu put the food in the steamer to heat it up, and reached for her phone to set an alarm, but couldn't find it after looking around.

Wen Shu hurriedly rummaged through her bag; where was her phone?

She recalled the absurd moment in the car when she threw her bag on the ground, and her phone probably fell into the car at that time.

Wen Rou Rou is watching cartoons, while Wen Shu is folding clothes in the bedroom.

Suddenly, a pungent stench wafted from the doorway; the intense stench of an excavated latrine filled the air.

Wen Shu rushed out and closed the door, then carried Rou Rou to the bedroom. "Rou Rou has to count from one to five hundred before she can watch cartoons."

Wen Rou Rou looked up with her innocent little face, her little brows furrowed, ready to count again.

Wen Shu walked out, put on a mask, put on her grandmother's rubber boots and apron, and dragged the hose to spray water at the gate.

He dragged the hose all the way to the front door, opened it, and sure enough, the door was covered in filth.

Three or four thugs were squatting on the road, looking this way.

The two boys who had been sprayed with insecticide earlier didn't dare to come.

Wen Shu first washed the front door, then flushed the dirt on the ground into the green area, thinking that it would only take a few days to dissipate the smell.

When Li Duo arrived, the first thing he smelled was the strong stench, and then he saw her standing on a stool washing the front door from behind.

Several thugs were hurling filthy insults at her, saying, "Beautiful lady, just one night with me, two hundred isn't enough? Aren't you short of money? You're selling yourself to anyone anyway."

For a woman, these words may be the greatest humiliation.

When she was beaten up downstairs at Jiang Yuanchao's company building, mistaken for a mistress, those women hurled these words at her.

The man was uttering the same words in the hospital parking lot.

Even these petty thugs uttered the same curses.

To humiliate a woman, all you need to do is utter these vulgar words in public, satisfying everyone's curiosity, regardless of whether it's true or not.

Wen Shu seemed not to hear, wearing an oversized, ridiculous apron, and vigorously scrubbing the gate with a brush.

"Hey beautiful, why aren't you saying anything? Don't you like me? I'm the famous tough guy in this area, just one night, and I guarantee I'll make you..."

Before he could finish speaking, Xiao Gangpao's hair was suddenly grabbed and he was dragged to the edge of the sewage that had been washed away, next to a piece of mushy toilet paper.

A strong hand controlled the little cannon's head and shoved it hard into the sewage. "Drink!"
