The assistant store manager was still arguing with Wen Shu when the store manager came out.
The clerk whispered to her, "Manager, a guy came in who tried to steal tickets but then caused trouble and tried to extort money from her!"
Upon hearing this, the store manager immediately said, "Then why don't we call the police right away? If you're upright, you have nothing to fear."
"If a customer asks, explain it to them properly. Offending a customer like last time and having to compensate them is not worth it!"
The police arrived quickly.
The store manager immediately stepped forward. "Officer Lin, this is the second time this month. They picked up other people's receipts and fraudulently claimed clothes. They can't provide anything except the receipts, and they're even causing trouble in the store."
Where is he/she?
When Officer Lin and his colleagues went over, they found Wen Shu sitting in the lobby.
"Wen Shu?"
When Wen Shu saw Officer Lin, she stood up and explained, "I came to pick up clothes for my boss, but they insist that I picked up someone else's receipt and claimed it fraudulently."
When the police arrived, the shop assistants naturally stopped being afraid.
"That's exactly right! Before you came, Miss Lin Jingyu called to ask if she could pick up the items with her card since she had lost the receipts. It just so happens that Miss Lin picked up the clothes she wanted; isn't that fraudulent?"
Officer Lin frowned: "We should still verify that; we can't just conclude that she fraudulently claimed it."
Li's Building.
Li Duo glanced at the time and frowned. Why was it taking so long to get some clothes?
My phone suddenly rang.
"Mr. Li? I'm a police officer from XX Police Station, my surname is Lin. I want to confirm something with you. Did you give your employee a receipt for picking up clothes at Qinghui this afternoon, so she could come and collect two sets of clothes?"
Li Duo was taken aback. "How come asking her to pick up some clothes resulted in her being taken to the police station?"
Fifteen minutes later, Li Duo appeared in Qinghui Hall.
Upon seeing Li Duo appear in person, the store manager immediately came over to greet him. "I'm sorry, Mr. Li, it was a misunderstanding. Our staff were too responsible and mistakenly thought that your employees had fraudulently claimed the clothing, which caused the misunderstanding."
Li Duo looked at her: "How could such a small thing cause a misunderstanding that even involved the police? Qinghui is such a big store, and you can't even handle such a small matter? That's quite surprising."
The store manager's expression froze. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Li..."
Officer Lin comforted Wen Shu, "Don't be angry, it probably wasn't intentional."
Wen Shu lowered her head and didn't speak, only feeling a tightness in her chest. "I'm fine."
She knew they were convinced she had picked up the receipts, tried to claim the clothes, and then tried to extort money from her; they were doing it on purpose.
Li Duo's gaze swept over the two men, and his expression darkened.
They really are a perfect match.
Li Duo glanced coldly at Wen Shu: "Making such a fuss over getting some clothes? Don't you know how to make a phone call? You're only good at bullying your own family, aren't you?"
Wen Shu lowered her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, President Li."
The store manager smiled smugly. After all, Qinghui is a big brand, and everyone has to give it some face.
The next second, Li Duo said, "When something like this happens, shouldn't we just throw things at their heads? Are we giving them face?"
The smiles on the faces of the store manager and his team froze.
Just then, a slender figure walked in from outside. "Whose head are you throwing this at?"
The shop assistant hurriedly brought the phone over, "Ms. Lin, are you here to look for your phone?"
Lin Jingyu walked in, smiling gently, "Thank you."
"Jingyu, what brings you here?"
When Li Duo saw her, the icy expression on his face melted away. He took her hand and held it in his own, showing no hesitation in publicly displaying their affection.
The store manager immediately said, "Ms. Lin took your clothes, which is why your staff didn't get them."
Lin Jingyu gently shook his hand, "Why are you so angry? Let's talk it out. I couldn't find the receipt for your suit, so I got it for you."
Li Duo chuckled, "I never expected you to be so virtuous."
As he spoke, he looked up at Wen Shu and said, "Since the clothes have been taken, let's just let it go. They didn't do it on purpose."
Wen Shu didn't look at him, or even raise her head. "Yes."
Officer Lin glanced at Wen Shu. "Wen Shu? Are you alright?"
"I'm really fine." Wen Shu turned to him and smiled. "Thank you, Officer Lin."
Li Duo stared at her face, narrowed his eyes, and looked away, his Adam's apple bobbing heavily.
Lin Jingyu looked at them curiously, "So your boyfriend is a policeman? That's a great job."
Officer Lin's face flushed red. "I... I didn't..."
"Officer Lin, you still want your salary, right?"
Officer Lin nodded. "I need your cooperation to go to the police station to sign a mediation agreement."
The store manager nodded hurriedly: "We're willing to cooperate!"
Lin Jingyu smiled and turned to look at Li Duo, "See? If we talk things out properly, the matter will be resolved. To be honest, it's all my fault. If I hadn't taken your clothes, none of this would have happened."
Li Duo lowered his head and looked at her tenderly, "What does this have to do with you? She can only blame her bad luck."
The store manager laughed and said, "It really is true. It only took a few minutes, but things went wrong. This lady is really unlucky."
Wen Shu didn't speak to anyone; she just looked up at the rules and regulations on the wall.
After leaving the police station, Wen Shu sat at the bus stop waiting for the bus, holding a tote bag in her hand, lost in thought.
A silver Bentley stopped in front of her, and the driver honked the horn.
Wen Shu looked up and saw Li Duo and Lin Jingyu sitting in the car. Lin Jingyu waved to her past Li Duo, "Going to the company? We'll give you a ride."
Wen Shu stood up and walked over. "No need, the bus has arrived, you can go ahead!"
She took a step back, and Li Duo said coldly, "What's with the pretense? Get in the car now."
Wen paused for a moment.
The bus stopped behind the Bentley, and she turned and boarded the bus.
The driver glanced at Li Duo's ashen face in the rearview mirror and quickly started the vehicle.
Lin Jingyu glanced at Li Duo's expression, then smiled sweetly and said, "You're so fierce! Luckily, your employees are resilient, or they would have been scared by you."
Li Duo didn't speak, but simply reached out and took her hand, gently stroking it in his palm.
"By the way, what's her name? I heard the police officer call her Wen something-or-other?"
"unimportant."
Lin Jingyu tilted her head. "How can it not be important? Women have a physiological aversion to their natural enemies. Just consider it as me being jealous of her."
Li Duo's eyebrows twitched. "You need to be jealous of her?"
"Of course she needs it, she's so beautiful."
"More beautiful than you?" Li Duo chuckled.
“It’s different for men.” Lin Jingyu leaned against him.
Li Duo laughed again, "You're a fairy from heaven, what is she to you?"
Lin Jingyu was amused by his words, "I'm a celestial fairy? She's a mountain demon. Demonesses are much more alluring than fairies. Men all like demons."
Mountain fairies?
This description is so apt. She really is like a fairy from the mountains and forests, born from a spring. She looks pure and clean to the point of being transparent, but in reality, she has a deadly power and allure.
Li Duo chuckled, "Fairies are meant to be admired."
Lin Jingyu smiled and said, "Then what about your vixen? Is she meant to be trampled on?"
