Chapter Five: Plant Spirits, Skills

The sound of trees being chopped echoed through the woods, creating a unique atmosphere when combined with the sound of raindrops.

With the axe, Yan Zi could chop down trees much more easily. What used to take ten minutes to fell a tree could now be done in just five minutes, making her much more efficient.

Yan Zi started cutting down trees at 10 o'clock and didn't stop until after 12 o'clock. She cut down a total of 24 trees and harvested 144 pieces of wood.

These pieces of wood were damp after being rained on, so after putting them in my backpack, I put them directly into the wet woods section.

During the trip, they also found five white treasure chests, one of which was emitting a white light, indicating that it contained valuable items.

Yan Zi put them all into her backpack without intending to open them outside.

She plans to turn it on again after returning to the shelter.

After two hours of continuous tree felling, I'm a bit tired. It's time to go back, eat something, and rest.

Yan Zi walked quickly towards the shelter. The drizzle was so heavy that she was soaked to the bone because she didn't have a raincoat.

Fortunately, the location of the shelter was not far, and she quickly returned to her grape shelter after a few quick steps.

But as soon as she went inside, Yan Zi stopped again.

She was covered in water stains, and if she went in now, she would definitely make the house dirty, but after only a moment's hesitation, she decisively barged in.

"I almost forgot, I stayed up all night last night, and the rain won't dry out."

Yan Zi went straight into the shelter and immediately opened several white treasure chests.

The four treasure chests contained simple items: four bottles of mineral water, two 500g bags of bread, two iron ores, five pieces of wood, and a fur ball...

It's still just enough to fill your stomach.

Yan Zi sighed softly, then turned to look at the only treasure chest emitting white light.

She found the treasure chest inside a tree stump after she cut it down.

It was rather small in size. Yan Zi gently touched it with her hand, and the lid slowly opened.

A white light appeared before Yan Zi's eyes. She hesitated for a moment, then raised her hand to touch it. The next moment, the white light flowed into her body through her fingertips.

A surging power swirled within her, and when she tried to communicate with it, she instantly grasped its existence.

"Is this a plant spirit? With special abilities?"

Yan Zi pondered for a moment, then opened her personal panel and found the skills section.

[Skill: Plant Spirit (F)]

[Special Effect: After acquiring this skill, there is a high probability of reducing various negative effects, and one also possesses a certain amount of self-healing ability.]

When Yan Zi saw the special effect, she couldn't help but smile. She was really lucky.

She even gained the ability to heal; it's an incredibly lucky start!

It seems she can now farm experience points without any limit!

Without hesitation, Yan Zi ate both loaves of bread that had been opened and also drank a bottle of mineral water.

After barely managing to stave off hunger, she opened the world chat to check what was happening, only to find that the regional chat had also been opened.

She was immediately delighted and opened the regional channel for their Blue Star Zone 1.

The channel was still bustling with activity, but the purchase requests on it made her a little uneasy.

[Official Dragon Kingdom website: A wooden chest that can store 10L of water can be exchanged for 10 pieces of wood (quantity: 99+)]

[Official Dragon Kingdom 2: 1 charcoal can be exchanged for 3 pieces of wood (Quantity: 99+)]

[Dragon Kingdom Official 3: Exchange Crystals for Any Shelter Blueprint (Quantity: 99+)]

[Dragon Kingdom Official 4: One animal hide can be exchanged for an Energy Fruit (Quantity: 99+)]

[Dragon Kingdom Official 5: ...]

The trading area was filled with official accounts from the Dragon Kingdom, and Yan Zi couldn't tell whether they were real or fake for a moment.

She directly chose to view the other person's name. Fortunately, the system did not virtualize everyone's name, which greatly made it easier for her to find people.

Seeing that her name was among the names on the official organization's list, Yan Zi finally breathed a sigh of relief. With them leading the way, she felt somewhat more at ease.

Actually, when she saw the official personnel sending these transaction requests, she could guess something was going on.

This is probably a disguised way of telling them how to collect resources...

As for why they didn't say it directly outside, it's probably because there wasn't enough time. With only ten minutes, they could only remember the general outline and couldn't possibly go into great detail.

Fortunately, her memory wasn't bad, and she recognized one or two names on the official personnel list, thus avoiding a misunderstanding.

Seeing the demand for shelter blueprints they posted, she decided to trade some.

She needed a wooden box that could store water, and she also wanted animal hides.

Fortunately, she also had the goods that needed to be traded for these items.

And so, Yan Zi began her large-scale shopping spree.

However, he quickly redeemed four shelter blueprints, locking the crystal types onto the Wild Bear, Gray Wolf, and Rabbit.

Crystals also have special effects. For example, rabbit crystals can be used directly as materials to make items, making them a great item that can enhance strength and increase attribute points.

She exchanged a wooden box that could hold ten liters of water and a piece of animal hide.

What she really needed was a raincoat. But she didn't have one.

Neither the world channel nor the regional channel had anyone selling raincoats. I don't know if they just hadn't opened up the market yet. It really was a case of "the truth being revealed at the last minute".

Fortunately, there were still animal hides.

In return for the supplies was a very thick wolf pelt, long enough to be used as shelter from the rain.

Looking at the misty rain outside, she realized that there was some standing water in the place that was originally full of weeds. Although it was only a shallow layer, if the rain continued, it would be more troublesome to clear the weeds by tomorrow.

Yan Zi took out several large leaves from her backpack and began the complicated process of rubbing them.

Although it's not very practical to make a raincoat out of large leaves, the leaves are big enough that she can also try weaving the weeds she collected.

It took Yan Zi an hour to successfully assemble a garment made of animal hide and large leaves using pom-poms and weed vines.

The leaves covered the animal hide with several layers, tightly sealing it off. Even in the rain, there was no need to worry about rainwater sliding down the leaves and into the hide, greatly reducing the rate of the hide being scrapped.

She felt a sense of novelty and excitement after successfully completing a handmade piece, though her neck was a little sore.

This is the disadvantage of not having chairs and tables.

"Looks like I'll have to set aside some time tonight to get some tables and chairs."

Yan Zi only thought about it for a moment before a cool sensation entered the base of her neck, bringing her a feeling of comfort.

"The plant spirits are showing their power again?" That's really a great skill.

Yan Zi straightened her back, adjusted her raincoat, put it on, and then opened the door of the shelter and walked out...
