Chapter 143 Providing Assistance, A Close Call
Mark suddenly appeared in the living room, panting, which surprised all three of them.
Lai and Mark weren't close friends. If you think about it carefully, they only ran into each other a few times during the time they were selling vegetables early in the morning, and they exchanged greetings.
He didn't know why Mark wanted him to save Ivy, or how he was supposed to save her.
"What happened? Mark, don't panic, explain yourself first."
“Ivy went into premature labor, and Grandma Afu asked me to go to town to find a doctor who knows magic. But we haven’t heard from Dr. Black since he went out, and we don’t know where the other doctor went either.”
Mark's voice was choked with emotion.
"Ivy is bleeding a lot, she looks very bad. I know, I know you also know wood magic, please save Ivy!"
Mark pleaded as if he had grasped at a last straw.
Neil glanced at his brother, then at Lamb, who was also looking at Ray.
Theoretically speaking, Ray shouldn't get involved in this kind of thing.

When Mark got home, Maggie brought out another basin of bloody water.
Maggie looked unwell, and her eyes were vacant.
"The baby hasn't been born yet."
It's been almost three hours, and Ivy has been bleeding the whole time, but the baby still hasn't been born. If it drags on any longer, it could result in the death of both mother and child.
"I brought the magician with me. Quickly ask Grandma Afu what to do."
Maggie glanced at Lai, frowned, handed the basin to Mark, and went back to the delivery room to ask Af.
"Grandma Afu said we could give it a try."
Maggie went in and out quickly each time, keeping the door tightly closed.
Mark had no objection to this.
Since they were strangers, Ray asked Anna for a long handkerchief to cover his eyes, and then, with Maggie's help, entered the delivery room.
"Why are you covering your eyes? How can you see people like that?"

In the delivery room, Ivy's condition improved after receiving treatment with the healing technique.

Ivy raised her upper body and saw the hand on her stomach, and the owner of the hand standing to the side.
He was a complete stranger.
Ivy frowned, and Grandma Afu quickly explained to her.
"It was a wood-type mage who used healing magic to assist you during childbirth. Don't worry, he didn't see anything."
Grandma Afu was kneeling at the foot of the bed, helping her give birth. Grandma Afu was someone Ivy knew, and seeing Maggie in the room made her feel much more at ease.
"Feeling better? Can you exert more force now?"
Afu asked Ivy, and Ivy nodded.
"Okay, then follow my rhythm and push. Let's deliver the baby in one go. It won't be good if we drag it out any longer. Lie down first."
Ivy obediently lay down and tried her best to do as Grandma Afu had instructed.
Lei didn't dare to end the healing spell easily, fearing that something else might happen, so he persisted.

Mark's father beamed with joy, and Mark's expression relaxed slightly.

Lai asked Grandma Afu.

Mark carefully took the swaddled baby from his mother's arms.
