Chapter 10: Newlyweds “Xiao Yingzi, look at me.”
The two colleagues were good-looking, but their expressions didn't suggest they were here to wish someone well. The taller one, in particular, held her head high, looking proud and dressed more like a bride than Wang Ying. Upon entering, she first glanced at Wang Ying, then at the bridal chamber. The shorter one beside her seemed worried about something, glancing at the taller one from time to time.
"So you are colleagues from Yunsheng? Please have some candy." Wang Ying was not very warm, but he did not treat them coldly. He grabbed a few candies and gave them to them as usual.
The tall female colleague looked at Wang Ying, took the candy, and said, "Congratulations! You are so lucky to marry Yunsheng."
As soon as she said this, she was hit on the arm by the female colleague next to her.
What was there for Wang Ying not to understand? This tall female colleague probably liked Zhao Yunsheng, and the one next to her was her friend, and she kept looking at her worriedly because she was afraid that she would say something wrong.
"Congratulations, congratulations!" the short colleague said with a smile, and took the candy. "We're leaving first." After saying that, he pulled the tall colleague away. Before leaving, the tall female colleague took another look at the new house, her eyes full of complexities.
Zhao Yunsheng's cousin sat down next to Wang Ying and whispered, "Don't mind, sister-in-law. My third brother has nothing to do with her."
Wang Ying smiled and said, "Why not? We are colleagues."
"Yes, yes, colleagues." Zhao Hongling said with a smile.
More people came to see the bride, and soon the banquet began. The Zhao family had many relatives and friends, so they had more than a dozen tables.
After the banquet started, Zhao Yunsheng brought Wang Ying, served tea, and visited each table to greet everyone.
After the banquet, Wang Ying returned to the bridal chamber. Not long after, Zhao Yunsheng also returned. He had drunk a little, though not much, but his face was a little red. As soon as he entered the bridal chamber, he came over to sit next to Wang Ying, who was sitting on the bed, and asked her, "How are you, Xiaoyingzi? Are you tired? Have you met all your relatives?"
Wang Ying moved aside and said, "I'm not tired. I've recognized most of your relatives. I also recognize a few of your colleagues."
Zhao Yunsheng chuckled softly: "Which colleagues, male or female?"
Wang Ying glanced at him and saw that his face was a little red from drinking, his eyes were slightly narrowed than usual, and his smile was even more affectionate...
"A female." Wang Ying said.
"Oh~~ a woman."
Wang Ying felt that Zhao Yunsheng's tone was a bit provocative and turned around to glare at him. Zhao Yunsheng just smiled at the glare and said, "Xiao Yingzi, I have something to ask you."
"What's the matter?" Wang Ying asked.
Just as he was saying this, the sisters who had accompanied Wang Ying earlier came into the room. As soon as they came in, Wang Ying pushed Zhao Yunsheng away from her and pushed him to stand up.
Zhao Hongling and the others pestered Zhao Yunsheng, "Third brother, take pictures, take pictures! Take out the camera!"
"Okay, let's take pictures." Zhao Yunsheng said with a smile.
He opened the glass case of the chest of drawers and took out a Seagull camera.
"Let's take a picture of the third sister-in-law first." Zhao Hongling said with a smile, and several sisters followed suit and said to take a picture of the third sister-in-law first.
Zhao Yunsheng smiled at Wang Ying and said, "Xiao Yingzi, please sit down and let me take a picture of you."
Wang Ying actually doesn’t like taking photos because she doesn’t like to smile much. Every time she takes photos, she hears people telling her to smile, and then she finds it even harder to smile. As a result, the photos she takes don’t look good.
Zhao Yunsheng raised his camera. He didn't ask Wang Ying to smile, but just said, "Xiao Yingzi, look at me."
When Wang Ying looked at her, he quickly pressed the shutter button and took several more photos without making Wang Ying smile once.
"Third brother, sit next to third sister-in-law, I'll take a picture of you two." Zhao Hongling said as she was about to grab the camera from Zhao Yunsheng.
Zhao Yun raised his hand, but Zhao Hongling missed.
"Here, don't waste the film. I have a tripod," said Zhao Yunsheng.
Zhao Hongling snorted, and Zhao Yunsheng took out a tripod from the high-legged cabinet, adjusted the position, set up the camera, walked a few steps to the bed, and sat down next to Wang Ying.
The two sat shoulder to shoulder, Wang Ying sitting upright while Zhao Yunsheng tilted his body and head slightly toward her. Wang Ying didn't smile, but Zhao Yunsheng's face was filled with a smile. Just as Wang Ying was trying to decide whether to smile, the shutter clicked, and the first photo of her and Zhao Yunsheng was taken.
After taking the photo, Zhao Yunsheng stood up, walked to the tripod and took out the camera.
Zhao Hongling and the others clamored for Zhao Yunsheng to take their picture too. Zhao Yunsheng asked them to stand in front of the chest of drawers, took a picture of each of them, and then took a group photo.
"Let's take a picture with our third sister-in-law as well."
The sisters sat next to Wang Ying again and took photos with her happily. Wang Ying thought Zhao Yunsheng's sisters were quite cute and smiled when taking photos with them.
When relatives heard that Zhao Yunsheng was taking photos in the new house, they flocked to him. Zhao Yunsheng, naturally, happily helped them take photos, first in the new house and then in the yard. Even Zhao Yunsheng's father's colleagues from the food factory came to the factory gate to take photos... They used up several rolls of film.
Wang Ying was also dragged to take many photos with Zhao's aunts and uncles, and her face was a little sore from smiling.
Meanwhile, Wang Hui arrived at the Du family's house, which was not far from the garment factory. It also had its own gate and courtyard, but it was a bungalow, an old house built when Du Jianguo's grandfather was still alive.
Wang Hui doesn't care about this old house because it will be demolished anyway.
Wang Hui and Du Jianguo's new house is on the east side of the main hall. After Wang Hui went in, she was a little disappointed. The furniture was older than she thought, but of course it was still usable.
After entering the new house, Du Jianguo's eldest sister and youngest sister came to accompany them. Wang Hui didn't have a deep impression of them, but she remembered that Wang Ying later replaced Du Jianguo's eldest sister's job at the garment factory.
Du Jianguo's elder sister is Du Wenxiu and his younger sister is Du Wenli. The two of them accompanied Wang Hui to meet guests. They never stopped eating candy and fruits. Later, when guests came to see the bride, they had no candy left to give them.
Wang Hui was unhappy, thinking the two sisters-in-law were ignorant. She also remembered that the first person Du Jianguo saw when he entered the room this morning was Wang Ying. Plus, the furniture in the new house was not very new. All these things combined made Wang Hui feel a little embarrassed.
When Du Wenli saw that Wang Hui looked unhappy, she ran to her mother to complain.
"Mom, my second sister-in-law has a weird temper. She was so cold to me on the first day of our wedding." Du Wenli whispered in Sun Qiaoling's ear.
"Stop stirring up trouble! You ate all the candy in your second sister-in-law's room. Do you think I don't know?" Sun Qiaoling rolled her eyes at her younger daughter and pulled a bunch of keys from her pocket. "Take the keys, unlock the west room and get some candy. Don't take all of it. Return the keys when you're done. Don't eat any more. If you eat one, your teeth will fall out!"
Du Wenli smiled and took the key to her mother's room. She peeled a candy and put it in her mouth. Only a fool would not eat it!
Du Wenli brought the candy back to the bridal chamber. Seeing her bring more candy, Wang Hui felt unhappy instead of happy. She had candy, but she didn't prepare more and even hid it.
At this time, Du Jianguo came and Wang Hui smiled.
"Brother Jianguo, is there a camera at home?" Wang Hui asked.
Du Jianguo was stunned: "That thing is so expensive, we don't have it at home. If you want to take a picture, we can go to a photo studio later."
Wang Hui felt a little disappointed. She remembered taking lots of photos on her wedding day in her previous life. But she soon came to terms with it. At least Du Jianguo didn't have any annoying female colleagues. She also remembered that on their wedding day in their previous life, Zhao Yunsheng's lover from work came to provoke her.
"Okay." Wang Hui smiled sweetly at Du Jianguo.
Du Jianguo felt much more comfortable when he saw Wang Hui smiling at him. There were many women in his family and they often quarreled. There was no gentle person among them. Wang Hui looked gentle at first glance, and Du Jianguo really liked her.
When Wang Hui was laughing with Du Jianguo, Du Wenli whispered to her elder sister: "Look at her, she smiles so sweetly to her second brother, but she has a serious face towards us."
Du Wenxiu hit Du Wenli's hand: "Don't talk nonsense!"
"Humph, who is talking nonsense? You are blind and can't see. Second brother will definitely be fooled by her in the future." Du Wenli said.
Du Jianguo and Wang Hui chatted for a while before being called away to entertain guests. Wang Hui had to face the two aunts again, but they were whispering to each other, as if they didn't take her seriously at all.
Wang Hui thought, no wonder her elder sister ignored these two people after she became rich in her previous life. They were not good people.
After the afternoon banquet ended and most of the guests had left, Wang Hui whispered to Du Jianguo that they were going to the photo studio to take pictures. Du Wenli, seeing them whispering, pestered her second brother.
"Second brother, what are you whispering about with your second sister-in-law?"
Du Jianguo said: "I will take your sister-in-law to the photo studio to take pictures right away."
"I want to go too!" Du Wenli said hurriedly.
"Why are you going? I'm getting married to your second sister-in-law, and we're taking photos as a souvenir." Du Jianguo didn't want to take her with him, and Huihui had just said that they would go and take the photos together.
Du Wenli refused to comply and started to go find their father, Du Chengdong. Du Chengdong doted on this little girl the most and immediately ordered him to take her along.
Du Wenli also called Du Wenxiu over. Originally, Du Jianguo only needed to take the two sisters with him, but he also asked Wang Hui, "Huihui, can you take the eldest sister and the youngest sister with you?"
Wang Hui's breath caught in her chest, and she quickly said with a smile, "Sure, of course, I wanted to take them with me anyway."
Fortunately, Du Jianguo was not so stupid. He said that Wang Hui had just said that she only thought about the two of them.
So the four of them went to the photo studio.
The photo studio was very busy today, so Wang Hui and the others could only wait. Du Wenli seemed to be deliberately trying to antagonize Wang Hui, and kept pestering Du Jianguo.
Whenever Wang Hui and Du Jianguo said something, Du Wenli would say something too. If Wang Hui called Jianguo "Brother", Du Wenli would definitely call him "Second Brother".
Their eldest sister Du Wenxiu didn't say a word, nor did she say anything about her younger sister, or pull her aside so as not to disturb the newlyweds.
They waited for a full hour before it was their turn to take the photo.
Wang Hui and Du Jianguo hadn't taken the photo yet, but Du Wenli insisted that the three sisters take the photo first.
As for Du Jianguo, he was dragged by his younger sister to take pictures with them first.
Just as the photographer was about to take the photo, Du Wenli asked him to stop. Then she said to Du Jianguo, "Second brother, ask your second sister-in-law to lend me your watch."
Wang Hui was already angry at this time, but Du Jianguo actually said to her, "Huihui, take off your watch and let Wenli wear it."
Wang Hui felt a lump in her throat. Why was Du Jianguo like this when he was young?
Wang Hui had no idea that this was Du Jianguo's way of survival at home: he would listen to anyone who spoke. The Du Jianguo she later met was one who had been reformed by Wang Ying for many years, and of course he was different.
