Carry her

Carry her

Tai Shi Zheng and Cui Zhijun walked out of the Ginkgo Pavilion. They had just turned a corner and taken a few steps when he took his arm away from Zheng.

Zheng watched Cui Zhijun walk forward silently and alone. Suddenly, she pretended to be pitiful behind him. "Oh, I wonder if anyone can carry me? My knees feel like they're going to break."

Taishi Zheng finished shouting, then glanced at Cui Zhijun, who remained unmoved. Then, limping a few steps closer, Zheng felt like she was almost done and continued, "Ouch, why does my back hurt? And my head feels dizzy too? I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore—"

But Cui Zhijun seemed to be deaf and ignored him completely.

Tai Shi Zheng was left with no choice but to sigh, stand up obediently, and walk side by side with him.

But Zheng didn't lie.

Although she hadn't knelt for a full hour, she had already knelt for nearly half an hour. This half an hour was enough for Taishi Zheng, who had never experienced such punishment before, to kneel with a sore back and a weakened lower limbs.

She stumbled as she walked, as fragile as a wildflower drifting in the wind. Tai Shi Zheng, fearing she would fall, grabbed Cui Zhijun's arm. This time, she held Cui Zhijun quietly, saying nothing.

Cui Zhijun then lowered his eyes for her. It seemed that this person was not pretending.

Cui Zhijun suddenly stopped.

After Zheng finally managed to stand, she looked up at the person beside her. She asked, "What's wrong? Why isn't my husband leaving?"

Cui Zhijun stroked her hand away, turned around and left his back to her.

Tai Shi Zheng was startled by the sudden appearance of a sturdy figure. She asked in disbelief, "My dear, are you going to carry me?"

Cui Zhiyun responded.

He said, "Come up, so we can get back faster. It wouldn't be good if others saw you like this."

But Cui Zhijun clearly said he was carrying her, but his back was straight.

To Taishi Zheng, this was as arduous as climbing over mountains. How could she possibly climb this towering mountain, Cui Zhijun? Taishi Zheng was stumped. She pointed at him, inexplicably, and asked, "My dear, have you ever carried anyone on your back?"

Cui Zhijun turned his back to Taishi Zheng, wondering why she asked this. He replied, "Never."

Taishi Zheng is still the first.

"Really? It's so embarrassing." Zheng shyly drew circles on his back when she heard that.

What a joke, she would be embarrassed? Cui Zhijun was uncomfortable with her touch, and had no choice but to urge, "Tai Shi Zheng, do you still want to come up?"

"Go on, why not? Go on right now."

Since this was Cui Zhijun's first time carrying someone, Taishi Zheng didn't want to discourage him. Without saying a word, Zheng stretched out her arms and wrapped them around the slender neck of the person in front of her.

In the next second, she was hanging on Cui Zhijun's back, with her feet off the ground.

But the next moment, Cui Zhijun was strangled by someone, and he suddenly had difficulty breathing and saw stars.

"Taishi... Zheng, let me go..." Cui Zhijun squeezed out a few sounds from his throat with difficulty. The instinct for survival made him reach out and try to separate Taishi Zheng's arms that were locked on his chest.

"?"

What's going on?

Zheng was hiding behind him and felt something was wrong, so she let go and jumped down.

He felt a sudden release, a surge of air rushing into his nasal cavity. Cui Zhijun pounded his stuffy body, gasping for air repeatedly. Tai Shizheng walked around him in panic and asked blankly, "My dear, what's wrong with you? You haven't even taken a single step. Are you already so exhausted?"

Cui Zhijun responded anxiously: "What's wrong with me? Isn't it because you strangled me? Taishi Zheng, why are you strangling me?"

It turned out that he was strangled by himself. Tai Shi Zheng couldn't help laughing, and then defended himself: "How can you still blame me? Cui Erlang is clearly your problem. You stand so straight and straight, who are you trying to carry? Since you don't bend down, I can't let you down. So don't I have to work hard on my own? I climbed up with great difficulty, how can you still blame me!"

After hearing this, Cui Zhijun finally remembered what he had done just now and bowed silently. Seeing this, Tai Shizheng stood in front of him and asked, "My dear, are you really okay? You wouldn't just turn around and abandon me halfway, would you?"

Cui Zhijun retorted: "If you don't need it, I won't carry it."

"No, I'll do it." Tai Shi Zheng knew when to stop and turned around to lie on Cui Zhijun's back.

Cui Zhijun was worried that the person behind him was too heavy, so he stood up carefully carrying him on his back.

Unexpectedly, Taishi Zheng landed on his back as lightly as a feather. Where did all the food this man usually ate go?

Cui Zhijun couldn't help but feel suspicious.

Taishi Zheng rested her chin on Cui Zhijun's shoulder, her two slender arms tightly surrounding him. The bumpy road did not separate the two of them, and they stayed tightly together.

Zheng sniffed the faint fragrance on Cui Zhijun's body and couldn't help but move closer to him, until her cold face touched another warm face, and the coldness was completely melted by the warmth. Zheng rubbed her face against his without any scruples.

Then he said in a soft and sincere voice, "Erlang, thank you."

"Why thank you?" Cui Zhijun slowed down his pace. He subconsciously wanted to avoid Taishi Zheng's close relationship with him, but he couldn't just abandon her. He was in a dilemma.

But the next second, Zheng left his cheek by herself.

She lowered her brows and slowly spoke from her heart, "Not just today, though. I'm grateful for every day since I've known you. I can see that you're trying your best to be a good husband, and you can be a good husband. But, Erlang... I want you to fall in love with me, and I want you to fall in love with me, so that we can live a good family together. No matter what the future holds, when we finish this life, it'll be just the two of us."

"So, are you willing?"

Cui Zhijun was disturbed by her initiative, and his pace quickly quickened, a panic visible to the naked eye. Unsure of how to respond, Cui Zhijun actually headed towards the withered willow tree by the pond.

Fortunately, Zheng patted his shoulder and called out a few times: "Whoa, whoa, whoa—"

Cui Zhijun then stopped obediently.

"Cui Zhijun, are you really that bad? If you don't want to, then don't. No one is forcing you, why do you have to kill everyone? You are so cruel! You can even be so cruel to a weak and charming woman like me."

Tai Shi Zheng cursed, but the way she hugged Cui Zhijun was because she was afraid that he would throw her into the pond.

Cui Zhijun stood beneath the withered willow tree, his eyes shimmering as Taishi Zheng's words echoed in his mind. Although he couldn't understand what Taishi Zheng meant by "falling in love," he had never considered sharing this dull, ordinary life with anyone other than her.

However, it was Cui Zhijun's own choice not to make promises easily.

In the end, he just said, "Go back." There was no response.

Zheng also understood that if the man before her could answer immediately, she would look down on him. But she would still feel disappointed. But after the disappointment, Taishi Zheng did not dwell on it. She lived for herself.

Seeing the silence, Cui Zhijun, fearing that Taishi Zheng might be upset, changed the subject and asked what had happened today. Zheng then leaned on his shoulder again, repeating word for word what she had seen and heard in the Ginkgo Pavilion.

After hearing this, Cui Zhijun simply said, "Zhichou's wife acted so recklessly; it's good for her to learn a lesson. I just hope she won't act like that again."

The two reconciled.

Taishi Zheng teased Cui Zhijun as usual, "Eh? My dear, I accidentally heard that Song Mingyue was originally promised to you as your wife? So, if Song Mingyue had married you back then, what would your two be like now? In short, you definitely wouldn't be as unlucky as yesterday, being fed poisonous mushrooms by your father and then being arranged like this. Thinking about it this way, my dear, you must be regretting it very much——"

Zheng pretended to be pitiful, but Cui Zhijun said firmly: "There is no if."

Tai Shi Zheng smiled knowingly when he heard this.

But when she looked at the Yinzhu Yatang which was getting closer and closer, she suddenly remembered something and said hurriedly: "My dear, turn around, turn around——"

"Turn around? Why?" Cui Zhijun was confused. Tai Shizheng pointed to the other side of Yinzhu Yatang and explained, "Send me to Yinjianju. I have some unfinished business. I need to see my sister-in-law."

"It's almost noon. Why don't you go back and rest first, and then go after dinner." Cui Zhijun understood her.

But Zheng insisted on going to Yinjianju. "No, I've already made an appointment with my sister-in-law. We can't keep anyone waiting. I'll be back soon, probably before dinner. My dear, please be a good person. It's only a few steps away. Can you take me there?"

"But your legs..." Cui Zhijun was a little worried.

But Taishi Zheng started to act coquettishly again and said, "Please, my dear."

It was difficult for him to refuse her request, so he turned around and sent Taishi Zheng to the outside of Yinjianju. After slowly placing her on the steps, Cui Zhijun instructed, "If there is anything else, remember to send someone back to tell me."

Upon hearing this, Taishi Zheng looked down the stairs with his hands behind his back and replied seriously, "Remember, I'll tell you next time. I won't let you sit and sit in the Yinzhu Yatang, worrying about me! And then be forced to go out and search for my wife—"

Zheng revealed Cui Zhijun's true identity in one sentence, and Cui Zhijun's face changed and he turned around to leave.

"Leaving now? Then take care, my dear—"

Zheng waved from the corridor, and before anyone could get far, she turned and happily ran into the Silver Sword Residence. At that moment, Cui Zhijun looked back at her running figure, narrowed his eyes, and thought to himself: Shameless and perverted woman, she's going too far. There's nothing wrong with her leg at all...

Tai Shi Zheng walked into Yin Jian Ju and was about to call out to look for someone when Cang Yi just pushed the door open from the bedroom.

The two sisters-in-law met and smiled at each other.

Zheng spoke first, "Sister-in-law, I'm back from Ginkgo Pavilion, and the matter should be resolved. I'm free right now, are you free? Why don't you accompany me to the Second House to give gifts~"

"At this time?" Cang Yi was a little surprised that Taishi Zheng had returned so quickly. She looked at the light that was almost noon, then at Taishi Zheng, whose face was filled with anticipation. After a few pauses, she softly replied, "Okay, I'll take you there."
