Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Ji Rong was standing at the door; she was also startled by the sudden opening of the door.

She had just returned from the northern part of the city and wanted to stay at her brother's safe place. She knew the password to her brother Ji Fang's door and was just about to open it when she saw the original human that her brother kept open the door for him.

Ji Rong took a step back warily; Yuanren can be somewhat aggressive towards strangers.

However, it was clear that her brother, this original human, was not aggressive towards her, and even gave her an expression as if he knew her.

This original human has a good memory; he remembered her after meeting her only once.

Ji Rong looked at the little guy, who was less than two meters tall, with a somewhat incredulous gaze: "You opened the door for me?"

Joe didn't know how it happened. He was originally a pet, but now he had sneaked out and was doing something naughty. Although it wasn't as troublesome as destroying the house, it would still worry the responsible owner.

The thought that she would definitely tell her master, and that his plans to go out would be interrupted, that his attempt to commit the crime would fail and that his master would find out, made him feel incredibly unlucky.

Qiao silently opened the door wider to let Ji Fang's sister in.

This person may not like keeping pets. Qiao also felt that it wasn't that she didn't like them, but based on her personality, she was probably indifferent to pets.

After Ji Rong came in, Qiao suddenly changed his mind. Wouldn't it be more reassuring for him to go out and play if someone was watching over him at home? That way, when he came back later, someone would open the door for him!

Qiao instantly cheered up. He climbed back onto the stool, opened the door, and gave Ji Rong a signal that he was about to leave.

Ji Rong witnessed firsthand how cleverly and nimbly her brother's family opened the door, gave her a look, and then left, thoughtfully closing the door behind them.

No, is it true that her brother's pet isn't a person in disguise?

Or did his brother get another pet robot that was even more expensive than Ling Fei and Ling Yu?

No, there's an even more serious problem: her brother's family ran away from home right under her nose.

Ji Rong didn't even have time to put down her luggage before she hurriedly opened the door to try and grab the original person back, only to find that the original person was already gone.

Ji Rong didn't know how her brother raised the Primal Human. She had never raised one, but her best friend had. Primal Humans were creatures that couldn't be kept at home. They had to be taken out for walks often and kept company frequently, otherwise they would become depressed and die easily.

Tsk, so fragile and troublesome, it's a miracle his brother can support him.

To avoid her brother blaming her for his pet's death, Ji Rong made a call to her brother. The call connected, and Ji Fang was training at the camp.

Ji Fang: "What's the matter?"

Ji Rong: "I just arrived at your house, and your family opened the door for me. Now, your family has run out."

Ji Fang frowned: "Don't let it get lost, find it and bring it back."

Ji Rong was a little tired: "Alright, I'll go look for it right away. Is what you're raising really a primitive human, or some kind of high-class product?"

Ji Fang: "What high-end stuff?"

Ji Rong was speechless: "Don't you know it can open doors? It even went out right in front of me, and gave me a signal to go out! It must have had its genes mutated by the radiation from the Netherworld Forest!"

Ji Fang naturally knew that Ling Mu was intelligent, so he was not surprised: "The original humans I raised are naturally intelligent."

Ji Rong clicked her tongue in disgust. Her older brother's matter-of-fact tone was really annoying.

Ji Fang wasn't worried that Qiao would get lost. This community was quite safe and strictly managed. Qiao had always been very quiet and well-behaved, so even if it opened the door, it wasn't locked. The space for it to move around in the house was already small, but it still managed to go out.

Qiao quickly went downstairs and arrived at the bottom of the community. The area below was very large and had excellent greenery, making it seem like a community nestled in the mountains and forests.

There were many small animals in the tree, including many birds bigger than his head that made a high-pitched sound, and many more insects that were hiding somewhere that made strange noises.

Joe memorized the way, but he didn't dare run too far, lest he lose his way home later.

Behind his building is an open park where many elderly Cohen residents sit or move around.

Qiao found a clean stone bench to sit on. He saw a black bird staring straight at him. When their eyes met, Qiao's heart started racing.

This bird won't eat humans, will it?

An old man strolling in the park came over, opened a bag, tore off a piece of bread, and threw it into the air. The black bird quickly flew over, caught the bread, and swallowed it whole.

Joe breathed a sigh of relief; at least this bird was vegetarian.

When the old man saw Qiao Ye, he tore off a piece of bread with trembling hands and handed it to Qiao Ye: "Here, here, for you."

Joe shook his head and refused.

The old man was delighted to see the primitive man shaking his head: "Oh, this primitive man can understand human speech! Here, don't be afraid, here you go eat."

Joe shook his head again in refusal. Seeing that Joe wouldn't eat, the old man had no choice but to toss the food into the air again to feed the black bird.

After feeding the birds a bag of bread, the old man saw that Qiao was still sitting there perfectly fine and muttered to himself, "See, you weren't eating, so I gave it all to the birds!"

"Who are you from? I've never seen you before. Where is your owner?" The old man looked at Qiao Ye, who was dressed in a well-fitting pet outfit and had neat and tidy hair, and judged that he was well taken care of by his owner.

Seeing that Qiao Ye wasn't afraid of him and was very docile and non-aggressive, the old man became interested and sat down on the stone bench opposite Qiao Ye, placing his hands on the stone table to observe her.

Qiao Ye also observed the old man. The old man had a very kind face. Qiao Ye had just seen him greeting many people. He was a lively and talkative old man.

This reminded Joe of his grandfather, who was also a very warm and popular person.

The old man casually opened the chessboard on the stone table and started fiddling with it.

Qiao looked on curiously, not expecting that the table had a mechanism. The chess pieces inside were black and white, and the chessboard was made of grids and diagonal lines. He watched the old man move the chess pieces and curiously pointed at them, discovering that the pieces could follow his finger.

The old man chuckled as he saw the original man move the chess pieces, saying, "You can play chess? You're so clever. Come, let's play a game."

The old man was just joking around for his own amusement. He placed a chess piece and didn't think that a primitive human could be smart enough to play chess.

Qiao was bored, and seeing the old man make a move, he also took a white chess piece and followed suit.

The old man enthusiastically began teaching the primitive man. He pointed to a grid point and said, "Wrong, you should go down here!"

Soon, Joe learned how to play.

When the old man saw that Qiao had landed in the right spot, looking quite professional, he assumed that the original human had just stumbled upon it randomly. He happily boasted, "If you beat me, I'll give you jerky."

The old man took out a packaged piece of dried meat snack from his bag to tempt him.

Joe's mouth watered when he saw the snacks because he noticed the packaging said they were spicy.

Ji Fang never bought him snacks, only gave him proper staple food, and at most let him eat with him, but mostly gave him bland food.

Since he found a master, he has never eaten barbecue or kebabs again. After ending his life as a homeless man, no one feeds him kebabs anymore.

Qiao swallowed hard and began to play the game seriously. The rules of this game were not complicated.

At first, the old man didn't take it seriously, but Joe won. The old man didn't mind and happily took out a bag of snacks: "Wow, you're so smart, you learned it so quickly?!"

Qiao, drooling, finished off the spicy jerky and beat the old man again. The old man smiled incredulously: "You actually beat me!"

The old man quickly gave him another bag of jerky. He realized that this guy was no ordinary person and started playing seriously. As a result, he lost another bag of jerky. Qiao also noticed that some of the jerky had cumin flavor.

Joe tore open a packet of jerky, and the spicy aroma instantly filled his taste buds. It was delicious! With his cheeks puffed out, he freed one hand to continue his battle with the old man.

Soon, Qiao Ye won all of the old man's large bag of jerky. He lost all his jerky snacks, and even his snack bag was lost to Qiao Ye.

Qiao also shook her head, holding her snacks, not wanting to get off. When Ji Rong came over, she saw an old man with a big beard and glaring eyes, pulling her brother's Yuanren and not letting him leave. Ji Rong's heart skipped a beat. Had Yuanren hurt someone?

Ji Rong felt extremely annoyed. She had always thought that pets were a real nuisance. If the old man continued to make a fuss later, she would let her older brother handle it; she didn't want to worry about it.

Ji Rong quickly ran over and separated Qiao Ye from the old man. Seeing that the old man was agitated, she asked with some concern, "What's wrong? Did my family hurt you?"

Qiao Ye, holding snacks, looked at Ji Rong and shook his head, indicating that it had nothing to do with him. Ji Rong then saw Qiao Ye holding something and thought that it had stolen the old man's things, so she took it and returned it to the old man.

The old man was still reeling from the shock of losing to a primitive creature in a row, which was an absolute disgrace. He said, "It won all my jerky. No, it can't leave. I must beat it today."

Ji Rong understood what had happened and was somewhat surprised and uncertain. Could this primitive man play chess? Or did the old man teach him and he won on the spot?

The old man was very excited. "Your artificial human is really smart! No one in this neighborhood can beat me at chess. But I was defeated by this artificial human today. Could it be a lifelike artificial human that you young people keep and is playing a joke on this old man?"

Ji Rong couldn't help but doubt Qiao Ye's authenticity again. Given her older brother's obsessive-compulsive nature, it was indeed a bit unbelievable that he would raise a primitive human that could shed fur, excrete waste at any time, and cause destruction.

Qiao followed Ji Rong back into the house. Facing the woman's scrutinizing gaze, Qiao pretended not to see it and nervously stuffed the jerky she had won into her mouth.

Then this strange woman suddenly came over, cornered him against the wall, pried open his mouth and observed him for a long time. She also took off his pet clothes, held his struggling hands in place with one hand, lifted him up, observed him for a while, and then let him go.

Ji Rong was puzzled. He wanted to know if this original human was fake. Unexpectedly, it was indeed real, possessing all the characteristics of a living being.

Joe was also startled by the sudden attack. He had struggled desperately, but no matter what he did, he couldn't break free from the grip of that large hand, which suddenly reminded him of the horror of the primitive slaughterhouse.

The resistance of the primitives was utterly insignificant in the face of the absolute power of the Korn; a single female Korn was enough to render them completely immobile.

Qiao was trembling uncontrollably. He was afraid of this woman. He fled into Ji Fang's room, closed the door, and then moved a stool to lock the door from the inside.

Even if she is the master's sister, she shouldn't break into her brother's bedroom.
