Chapter 9
The owner left in a hurry, and the entire manor villa seemed to become quiet all of a sudden.
The robot continued as before, without any self-discipline. It would only grumble a few words when tidying up the house: "Master has gone out. Be good at home and don't be naughty. You can't go into rooms that are off-limits!"
Joe kept thinking about whether he could get close to the robot and press the switch hidden in its chest.
Once, when the robot was cleaning his toilet sandbox, he hugged the robot and felt around its chest, only to find that he couldn't open it at all.
That means the robot has the necessary permissions, and only the owner can open it.
Ling Yu was happy to be hugged by Qiao Ye. He picked up Ling Mu and placed him on the cushion, saying affectionately, "Don't make trouble, don't be clingy, I'm going to clean your room!"
Although Joe couldn't understand what the robot was saying, he felt like a scoundrel for touching it.
The robots in this world are so realistic that they seem to have their own thoughts in terms of behavior and emotional interaction, making it difficult for him to regard the two robots in the manor merely as tools.
Joe also began exploring the villa estate. The owner's study was locked and he couldn't go in. The other rooms were also locked, which Joe thought was to prevent him from going in and causing damage.
He is currently imitating Ruwei's behavior pattern in everything he does, and dares not do anything too outrageous.
The manor was very large, but he couldn't leave. One time, he walked to the gate and an alarm suddenly went off. Then the robot butler came over immediately and led him away.
He is now afraid to go out, worried that he will be kidnapped by bad guys again. The trauma from before is too terrifying, and he subconsciously doesn't dare to think about it.
The artificial hill and pavilion outside the manor were too boring; he would much rather go into the hall outside the study.
There are usually TVs or projectors in the lobby, right?
He went in with the robot butler while it was cleaning the lobby. Once inside, he observed carefully and indeed found a device, but was it something like a television?
Joe touched and fiddled with everything. At first, the butler robot would immediately stop him when it saw him touching the appliances, probably afraid he would destroy the house. Later, it found that he was very well-behaved and just curious, so it lowered its guard against him.
However, Ling Yu was busy cleaning, and Qiao was running around, which was quite a hindrance. Ling Yu searched for the term "how to calm Yuan down" in his online system.
The search server displayed multiple answers:
"It allows the original person to engage in a lot of physical activity, and once the energy is depleted, they can calm down."
"Give him a good meal. If he's too full, he'll lie down and not move. Just be careful not to overfeed him, otherwise there's a risk of indigestion. Also, don't feed him too much before bedtime, otherwise he won't be able to sleep."
“You can give the original person toys to play with, or let him watch videos, or put him on a holographic helmet to enter the ‘domain world’ to attract his attention. Last time I put a holographic helmet on him, he immediately quieted down, and after exhausting his mental energy, he fell fast asleep…”
"Quiet? How can the Primal Man be quiet! My Primal Man is constantly tearing the house apart, and the robots are always cleaning up after him. The energy consumption is twice as high as before..."
Aside from a few serious replies, the rest were mostly complaints about the original poster, interspersed with affection for their pet.
Ling Yu looked at Ling Mu, the curious little guy in the living room, and saw him pick up a valuable, fragile piece of jade that his owner had placed on the table. His pupils, mimicking those of a Cohen, instantly dilated.
"Don't take it! Put it down now!"
Joe turned around and looked innocently at the butler robot.
Ling Yu carefully placed the jade stone in a safe place where the original man couldn't reach it, then led the original man to settle him on the sofa. Following the information he had just retrieved, he connected the projector signal switch and turned on the projector in the living room.
Seeing that the original man's attention was instantly drawn, Ling Yu knew the method was working. He searched for several Cohen children's channels and chose one.
"Ling Mu, be good and watch carefully. I have to work now." Ling Yu gently patted his head.
Joe heard the pronunciation of "Modo" and knew it was being called. Judging from the tone, he deduced it was a word of advice and nodded.
Joe was extremely excited. He naturally discovered that it was a children's channel. In the mind of the butler robot, he was like a child to the Cohen people, which was incredibly convenient.
Learning a language by starting like a child would probably be faster.
He watched the video intently. The video was a heartwarming story about a family of four in Cohen. The language was simple and the sentences were repeated frequently.
Moreover, one can roughly guess some of the meaning based on the artistic conception.
The Cohens' language has rather strange pronunciation. While the robot was cleaning another room, Joe tried to whisper along with it and found that his tongue was practically tied in knots.
After the butler robot finished cleaning, I wanted to come over and ask him to leave, but Joe was engrossed in watching the cartoons of this world.
Ling Yu didn't disturb him while he finished watching the episode. Once he was done, just like a parent urging a child to do their homework, she turned off the projector without hesitation.
Qiao Ye couldn't agree to that. He tried to communicate with his facial expressions, tone of voice, and gestures: "I want to see this. I want to see it some more, a little longer."
Ling Yu said earnestly, "You've been watching for an hour now. It's time to move around more to stay healthy."
Joe was also dragged away. He was helpless; the access to the living room could only be activated by the robot, and he couldn't go in at will.
However, the butler robot didn't make things difficult for him. As long as he ate and drank on time and spent a certain amount of time in the manor every day, and Joe pulled him toward the living room door, the butler robot would open the door for him and project a children's channel.
Joe couldn't control the content of the video himself, because the projection device didn't have a remote control or anything like that; it must be high-tech.
The children's channel not only features animated stories, but also educational and entertainment programs for children with Cohen, offering a wide variety of content.
Moreover, the projected videos won't tire your eyes no matter how long you watch them; the video quality is very gentle and won't harm your eyes.
About a month passed, and the owner still hadn't returned. He also saw the video calls or instructions that the owner sent to the butler robot.
Joe also filled her life with activities, following the programmed schedule set up for the butler robot every day: waking up, eating, exercising, watching videos to learn, sleeping...
In about a month, Qiao gradually learned some words and language skills and was able to speak simple daily conversations.
Joe could only practice speaking quietly by himself. He dared not talk to the robot. What if the original inhabitants of this world couldn't speak? If he could speak, he might be mistaken for a monster.
Two months after Qiao diligently studied, counting down the days, Ji Fang finally returned.
Joe heard the sound of the manor gate being opened while he was strolling around the manor.
No one usually comes here, and only the owner and those close to him have the authority to open the manor gate.
The manor has a strong defense system; the only way to enter is through the main gate.
Qiao also ran over quickly and saw the airship enter through the gate. Then, at the villa entrance, Qiao saw the resolute owner disembark from the airship.
Joe ran over excitedly. Heaven knows he had been holed up in this manor for two months. The two robots would go into hibernation after completing their programmed tasks, and he hadn't communicated with any living beings for a long time.
He wants to get closer to his owner so that his owner can take him out to play, or anything else.
He can now understand some of the Cohen language and is looking forward to getting along better with his owner.
Like someone released from prison, Qiao threw himself into Ji Fang's arms as soon as he returned.
General Ji, who was in the midst of post-war emotional turmoil and trying to suppress his murderous aura, was momentarily stunned when Yuan Ren suddenly approached and hugged him warmly.
Joe was so excited that he almost hugged his owner when he came to his senses.
It's okay. When I left before, I even hugged my owner's neck. And now he's a pet being cared for. Isn't it only natural for him to be close to his owner?
Being close to your owner is also part of your job! Only when your owner likes you more and can't live without you will your survival be more secure.
Joe successfully brainwashed himself, justifying his behavior with a clear conscience.
He hugged his owner, only to realize that something was wrong with him.
Compared to before, the master's expression seemed more somber, as if he was enduring something, exuding a violent aura that made him feel he was about to unleash his power and devour everything.
The overwhelming threat of power instantly turned Joe's excitement into a chilling feeling, as if he had been transformed from the height of summer into winter.
Joe also felt that he could be crushed to death by this Cohen man at any moment.
Stared at by a pair of frightening eyes, Joe didn't dare to move, like a kitten with its head drenched and ears turned into airplane ears.
Li Cheng followed him out of the spaceship's cockpit and was startled when he saw the admiral's pet. The admiral had just returned from the battlefield, and the smell of blood on his body might not have even dissipated yet. His mental energy was in a state where he could accidentally injure those around him at any moment. Even Li Cheng didn't dare to approach the admiral, so what was wrong with this primitive human?
Ji Fang looked at the little guy who had just run over, his excitement turning into fear. Knowing that he had scared it, he restrained his outward aura even more.
The little guy wasn't afraid of him at all, and Ji Fang's mood eased slightly. He suddenly recalled the relaxing scent on this primitive man when they set off.
Ji Fang bent down, lifted Qiao Ye up and held him in his arms, feeling his breath. His tense nerves were instantly relieved.
General Ji, holding Qiao Ye in his arms, strode into the house with a fierce aura that suggested he was ready to go into battle at any moment.
Li Cheng stood there in a daze for a while, and only after the general had walked far away did he come to his senses. He straightened his military cap, kept a distance of more than five meters from the general, and followed him.
I've only ever seen the general's strength and ruthlessness on the battlefield, but today I'm actually fortunate enough to see that the general will like such a delicate, troublesome, and difficult-to-care-for Yuanren.
I must say, although the general's way of holding the pet was awkward, he was definitely being very careful!
Joe was also carried inside by his owner, and he was also taken aback, not knowing how to react for a moment.
Does this mean the owner misses him? Likes him as a pet? Has he been accepted as a member of the family?
The owner looks alarmed. Is work not going well? Or is he in a bad mood?
Upon closer inspection, Qiao also noticed that her master seemed to have lost weight and had a faint smell of blood on him. Could he have been injured?
Joe hesitated for a moment, then took the initiative to hug his master's neck and pat his back to comfort him.
Ji Fang was not averse to such closeness. He entered the hall, put the original person down, and then took off his formal attire, which was then kindly taken by the butler robot.
Then, Ji Fang picked up Qiao Ye and sat her on the sofa, let out a long sigh, and began to pinch and stroke Qiao Ye's body.
Joe was completely bewildered by the pinching. He awkwardly tried to dodge, but he couldn't escape being held in his arms.
Suddenly he remembered the Coen People children's cartoon he had watched. There was a scene in it where the Coen People relieved stress by sucking on the original humans, which was similar to how he used to suck on cats.
That's not good, it tickles him!
How embarrassing!
