Chapter 102 Stage 1 Bone Cancer?

Chapter 102 Stage 1 Bone Cancer?

The living room was very quiet. Even if Xu Yueqing didn't intend to listen, Zhou Yuan's voice on the other end of the phone came through without missing a word.

"Boss Ji, that man is making trouble again and wants you to give him an explanation tomorrow!"

Ji Bingqian's expression didn't change at all. He just leaned back in his chair and asked, "Where are the people?"

"He just ran to the company lobby and threw a tantrum like crazy, but was stopped by security and has now been sent back to the hospital."

"How are you feeling?"

"Not very good." Zhou Yuan continued, "I've got the surveillance video and I'll send it to you now."

Ji Bingqian hung up the phone.

Then his phone vibrated and a notification of a received video file popped up on the screen.

He was about to click it when Xu Yueqing's curious voice sounded from the opposite side.

"Is that the man who stabbed you?"

Ji Bingqian nodded.

Then he gestured towards the empty seat next to him.

"Come sit here."

Xu Yueqing obediently put down her chopsticks and stood up.

She sat down next to Ji Bingqian, and a crisp woody aroma mixed with a hint of tobacco instantly enveloped her.

It's the smell of Ji Bingqian.

Ji Bingqian tapped the phone screen lightly with his slender fingers.

The video was clicked.

The picture was a little shaky. A man in washed-out and somewhat worn work clothes was being dragged out by a tall and strong security guard.

The man's face turned red, veins on his neck bulged, and he was howling with all his strength, his voice so hoarse as if he was coughing out his lungs.

"Let me go! Call Ji Bingqian out!"

"It's all his fault! If he hadn't insisted on doing that crappy project with us, how could my daughter get sick? How could she get sick?"

The man's cry was filled with tears, despair and helplessness.

"She's only a little girl! Now her condition has worsened! She rolls around in pain in her hospital bed every day! You are such heartless capitalists! For the sake of making money, you don't even care about human life!"

His legs kicked wildly on the ground like a mad trapped animal.

The picture ends here.

Deathly silence returned to the restaurant.

Xu Yueqing looked at the black screen, and her heart felt like it was being tugged at by something.

A little sour and a little astringent.

She thought of the people in the hospital who were also running around with worried faces trying to pay for their family’s medical expenses.

I also thought of my mother.

She understood too well the despair of watching loved ones suffer while being unable to do anything about it.

That despair seemed to have crossed the screen and weighed heavily on Xu Yueqing's heart.

In this dead silence, Ji Bingqian's cell phone buzzed softly again.

He lowered his eyes and clicked on the screen.

It’s a picture sent by Zhou Yuan.

Xu Yueqing was sitting next to him, the light from the phone screen reflected on her face, and she glanced at it subconsciously.

That was a diagnosis report from the hospital.

Tong Tong.

Stage I bone cancer.

Xu Yueqing's heart was twisted again.

Then her eyes looked down and were attracted by a strange yet somewhat familiar seal and logo in the lower right corner of the report.

There was a line of small words below: Haihao Hospital.

Haihao Hospital?

She quickly ran through the names of all the top-tier hospitals in Beijing, but none matched her. She had visited nearly every reputable hospital for her mother's illness, and she knew all of them by heart.

But Haihao?

Then, an idea suddenly flashed into her mind, splitting the chaos like a bolt of lightning.

She remembered something.
