Chapter 28 It’s Not Too Late for the Answer

Chapter 28 It’s Not Too Late for the Answer

She trampled all her talents underfoot and crushed them into the mud, just to support a so-called love that was a scam from beginning to end.

Xu Yueqing lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes hiding the emotions in her eyes, and her cheeks were burning.

"I failed Professor Chen's expectations."

Ji Bingqian's eyes fell on her, but he said nothing.

When he spoke again, he asked, "Have you thought it through?"

The words were not harsh, but they struck her heart directly.

"Planning to start over?"

Xu Yueqing raised her head and met his gaze, and a bright light reappeared in her dim eyes.

She nodded vigorously.

"fine."

His tone was unexpectedly gentle.

"At least you know what you want."

He looked at her and added.

"Don't be ashamed."

"It's never too late to start over."

Xu Yueqing was stunned.

Ji Bingqian was encouraging her.

She suddenly thought of Jiang Chejin.

What did Jiang Chejin say when she occasionally mentioned that she wanted to continue her studies?

"Xu Yueqing, what's the point of a woman reading so many books? Isn't it better to just find a job?"

"What do you know about AI? Don't think about those unrealistic things. Making money is the serious thing."

Those words of disparagement are still fresh in my mind.

But Ji Bingqian told her that it is never too late to start over.

A sour feeling welled up in my heart.

"Mr. Ji, don't you blame me?"

Ji Bingqian raised his eyebrows as if he had heard something funny.

"Blame you?"

He asked back, his tone amused.

"Is it your fault why you pursue your dream again?"

"It's still your fault. Why are you so outstanding that you were personally invited by the Jingbei Research Institute?"

Two consecutive rhetorical questions left Xu Yueqing speechless.

She opened her mouth, but couldn't say a word. She just felt her cheeks getting hot.

Looking at her like this, the smile in Ji Bingqian's eyes deepened a little.

"I support you."

He spoke every word clearly and solemnly.

"You know better than me what the Jingbei Research Institute is. Only the best of the best can get in."

"The fact that Professor Chen called you personally means you have the ability."

"Do it well."

"I trust you."

I just four simple words.

But it was like a key that, with a click, opened the shackles that had been locked in her heart for the past few years, trapped by lack of self-confidence.

Xu Yueqing clenched her phone tightly, and her heart, which had been hanging in the air, finally settled down.

She was about to say thank you when Ji Bingqian made a move.

He handed the white ointment to her.

Ji Bingqian's gaze then fell on the glaring red mark on her neck, and his eyes turned a little cold.

"It's for redness and swelling."

The cool tube pressed against the hot palm.

Xu Yueqing took it: "Thank you, Mr. Ji."

In the ward, there was a faint smell again, a rusty and bloody smell that even disinfectant could not cover.

Xu Yueqing held the ointment in his hand, raised his eyes and asked.

"Mr. Ji, your injury..."

Before he could finish his question, Ji Bingqian's cell phone suddenly rang.

He picked up the phone and answered it.

"Professor Chen."

Xu Yueqing's eyes were fixed on him.

Is it Professor Chen from the research institute?

I don’t know what was said on the other end of the phone, Ji Bingqian just responded lightly and nodded.

"Professor Chen, I will be there on time tomorrow."

The phone was hung up.

Xu Yueqing's curiosity overwhelmed her reserve.

"Is this Professor Chen from the research institute?"

Ji Bingqian nodded and said a few more words, "Tomorrow is the recruitment day for the research institute, and he asked me to go over there."
