Chapter 8: A shrew scolds people on the street and doesn't know how to behave

The box was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Jiang Rao leaned against Qi Ze's arms, fiddling with her nails leisurely.

She looked as if she was not the culprit of the farce just now, as if she was not the one who caused the farce.

Qi Ze didn't say anything and put his hand on Jiang Rao's shoulder.

The men sitting below understood immediately. No one spoke up for Jiang Feng and they all looked at each other in confusion.

"This is..." The man on Qi Ze's right spoke cautiously, looking at the woman.

"Jiang Rao."

Jiang Rao glanced at him and spoke in a clear, crisp voice.

When one person spoke, the others understood and flattered him.

"Miss Jiang is straightforward and a heroine."

"Miss Jiang has a good temperament. Please come to the party often in the future."

Jiang Rao felt awkward listening to these compliments, but the people who said them didn't feel it. Jiang Rao glanced at their flattering faces and thought, "Look, if someone praises you, even a bitch can be gilded. If no one praises you, you are just a shrew scolding the street, you don't know how to be modest."

Class and power, how fascinating.

"Of course, of course." Jiang Rao smiled and went through the motions with them with ease, as familiar as if they were old acquaintances.

After the men exchanged greetings, they tactfully left the room, leaving only Jiang Rao and Qi Ze in the huge box.

Qi Ze put down his hand and glanced at Jiang Feng who was knocked unconscious. Jiang Rao handed Qi Ze the windbreaker that he had placed on the sofa.

Qi Ze raised his eyes, took it, and said with a half-smile, "You are quite skilled at using the power of others to bully others."

"Mr. Qi is kind enough to praise me." Jiang Rao lowered his posture and gave a perfect smile.

Qi Ze reached into his sleeve pocket and took out a card, and Jiang Rao seemed to see light.

The sponsor handed over his business card, and the meaning was self-evident.

Unexpectedly, Qi Ze stuffed the business card into Jiang Rao's chest. The low-cut neckline was wide open, and a card stood between the ravines, looking very vivid. Qi Ze glanced at her, said "take care of yourself" and turned away.

The man was a real dog. Jiang Rao almost wanted to overturn the table and quit, but she was very patient. After taking out her business card, she made a shooting gesture with her right hand and hit Qi Ze on the back.

Qi Ze seemed to have eyes on the back of his head and turned around:

"You're a whore, but you still want to be a saint, Miss Jiang, aren't you well-mannered enough?"

This was just short of pointing at her nose and calling her a chicken.

Jiang Rao smiled humbly, "That's not the case, Mr. Qi. As long as I'm with you, I promise I'll risk everything."

I'm willing to kill you...

Jiang Rao swallowed the second half of the sentence.

"Put away your little tricks for a moment. I won't let you off so easily next time."

Qi Ze left a warning and went out.

After the box door closed, Jiang Rao stopped pretending and fell back on the sofa.

She took the business card Qi Ze gave her and played with it in her hand. The business card was gold-plated, representing the identity and status of the owner. The name and phone number were printed on it, like the red apple that tempted Eve.

"The result can't be worse than this, so what's there to hesitate about?" Jiang Rao said with slender fingers, humming to herself, took out her cell phone, looked at the business card, and made up her mind.

*

The people from Jinna acted quickly. Jiang Rao saved Qi Ze's phone number and just after she sent the friend request, they came over.

The leading man first ordered his men to drag the unconscious Jiang Feng away, then bowed and apologized to Jiang Rao, "I'm sorry, Miss Jiang, my men don't have good eyesight."

Jiang Rao was stunned for a few seconds before she realized that the man was talking about the cheongsam woman who had just taken the seat next to Qi Ze in the box.

"It's okay." Jiang Rao was very easy to talk to. She sat in the middle of the sofa, stretched out her arms, and leaned back on the sofa. "I'm happy today."

The man understood and ordered his subordinates, "Didn't you hear Miss Jiang say she was happy? Clean up the box and throw a party for Miss Jiang."

Jiang Rao nodded in thanks, and the man left with his men.

Jiang Rao flicked the card with her fingers. The gilded words "Qi Ze" made her eyes hurt. She threw the card away and said self-deprecatingly, "Life is full of ups and downs."
