Chapter 59 Qingbao saves a mother and child
Qingbao frowned slightly.
I almost jumped up and hit the slave trader's knee.
The little guy said firmly again, "I'll buy this woman!"
The slave trader then looked down at her, and when he met her big, round eyes, he was instantly stunned.
That girl is really pretty. If we caught her and sold her, she might be worth more than that boy.
"What are you doing buying women when you're just a child!" The slave trader's eyes scanned, searching for her parents.
Si He squeezed through the crowd with difficulty and stood in front of him with a cold face. "The person my daughter wants, just take the money and give it to her. Why are you asking so many questions?"
Qingbao was still holding a fifty-tael silver note in her hand.
The slave trader was surprised to see that a three-year-old child could casually produce such a large silver note, and that the fabric worn by the lady in front of him was not cheap either.
I guessed they must be ladies from some wealthy family.
Then, with a quick thought, the slave trader said, "I can sell her to you, but this woman is exceptionally beautiful and a real stunner. Fifty taels is absolutely out of the question."
"How could you say that? You just told everyone it was fifty taels!" Qingbao said, looking unhappy.
He silently sentenced the human trafficker in his heart.
Human traffickers are shrewd; they would never imagine that a wealthy family would spend fifty taels to buy a maid.
"That's the price I charge the poor. It's not the price for you rich people." He shook his finger, his eyes full of greed.
Si He sighed softly and comforted Qingbao, saying,
“I was originally planning to take a concubine for your father, who was destitute and alone, so that he could have a younger brother. But since he’s raising the price, we don’t need to buy such an expensive one. We can just go to the market and buy one who can have children. Fifty taels can buy five or six virgins. It’s not worth it to pay so much for a woman who has given birth. Let’s go.”
After saying that, he took Qingbao's hand and left.
The crowd buzzed with discussion, and those who had initially been lustful towards the woman immediately lost interest.
"Boss, you're heartless. No matter how beautiful she is, she's still a mother."
"That's right, fifty taels could marry countless innocent girls. Such beauty is rare, but not unheard of."
"Let's go, let's go, it's boring."
The slave trader was frantic, pacing back and forth, "Oh dear, don't go! Her son is very handsome too."
Seeing that most of the people had left, he finally became anxious.
"Wait, madam," he called out to Si He.
Si He ignored him and took three more steps forward.
The slave trader rushed over and reached out to stop them.
"This is a mother and child, who are destitute and helpless. If you buy them together with the child, you can also control the concubine to use for your own purposes. This is a very good deal."
After saying that, he walked over and pinched the little boy's face.
The little boy pursed his lips, his phoenix eyes slightly upturned, his face revealing a cool and stubborn temperament.
"Look how pretty this little one is! He'll definitely grow up to be a handsome young man. What can't he be used for?"
His words revealed a lewd tone.
"If you want to buy them, I can sell you both together."
Si He looked at Qing Bao.
Qingbao waved her hand, "No need, no need. I don't need such expensive ones for my father to be his concubines. You can sell them slowly. You won't be able to sell them even if you try for three days and three nights."
She had already mastered the essence of her mother's bargaining skills, and looked completely at ease.
Qingbao is such a good learner; she can imitate anything perfectly.
"So how much money are you planning to offer?" The slave trader was clearly losing patience.
All that talk is just an attempt to negotiate a lower price.
"Ten taels," Si He said.
The human traffickers were shocked.
Si He added, "Two."
Two for ten taels of silver?
"What do you take this place for? Ten taels for a mother and child? How is that possible!" The slave trader immediately objected.
Qingbao thought for a moment and saw through the cause and effect at a glance, "You're making a pure profit, so don't complain about this or that."
"What? What do you mean, pure profit? What are you talking about? I bought it with real money from the market!" The slave trader was getting anxious.
"Are you sure you bought them? Didn't you find them at the bottom of the cliff?" Qingbao clenched her little fists, her little expression fierce.
Not only did they pick up the person and not help them, but they even dared to bring them to sell.
This person has no conscience.
The slave trader's eyes darted away. "You're talking nonsense."
Seeing this, Si He roughly understood what was going on.
She took out a tael of silver and handed it to the slave trader, saying, "Either take the money and get out of here, or I'll send someone to report this to the authorities."
The human trafficker felt a little flustered.
He snatched the tael of silver from Si He's hand and ran away.
Qingbao pouted.
He turned around and untied the ropes from the woman on the ground.
The little guy clapped his hands and said, "Okay, you can go now. Don't run into bad people again, okay?"
Sihe took off his outer garment and wrapped it around the trembling woman.
The woman looked up at her and said in a hoarse voice, "Thank you."
“A tael of silver is worth it to save you. Take the child and go back quickly.” Si He helped her up.
Instantly.
A rumbling sound came from the woman, who lowered her head, looking embarrassed. "We haven't eaten for two days."
So, the kind-hearted Sihe and Qingbao took them to the inn for a meal.
Another private room.
Separated only by a screen.
Si Han and Si Yao met with Daoist Wufeng here.
Master Wufeng also looked haggard; he said weakly.
"Getting a peace charm is possible, but the evil spirits that night were too powerful. You need a purple charm to protect your life."
Unfortunately, Master Wufeng's purple talisman, which had already been placed in his Qiankun bag, was taken away by that child.
"Then what are we waiting for? Give me the purple talisman! How much do you want?" Si Yao shouted excitedly.
Si Han also said, "Money is not a problem. The main thing is that those evil spirits should not bother my sister. As long as they are useful, that's fine."
"Of course they're useful. Those purple talismans are all treasures from my Taoist temple's founder, and their power is considerable, but..."
Master Wufeng looked annoyed. "My Qiankun bag was swapped by Qingbao. All those treasures are with her. If you want them, you can pay me the silver first, and then go to her to ask for them back."
"What? Why would you exchange the treasure for Qingbao out of the blue?" Si Han looked at Daoist Wufeng in disbelief.
Master Wufeng said, “What does the cause and effect between the two of us have to do with you? In short, if you want the talisman, you have to get it from Qingbao. Pay me the money.”
As a Taoist priest, he couldn't very well tell them that he had exchanged it for a pen, which then disappeared.
This is so embarrassing.
"This puts us in a difficult position." Si Han knew that Qing Bao and Si He would never give him the purple talisman.
Master Wufeng asked, "What's troubling you? Aren't you her uncle?"
We're all family, it's better than him, an outsider, asking for it.
Si Han looked impatient. "I won't beg them. Do you have any other way to get the purple talisman?"
Master Wufeng shook his head. “That was left behind by my ancestor. Even if there are others, none of them have such power. If you think your life is not important, then you don’t need to ask for it.”
Even if you go back to your master to get this purple talisman, you will still have to ask for the same thing.
There is no such thing as something that can be obtained without asking for it.
These words.
Through the screen, the sound reached the ears of the little baby next door who was eating heartily.
