Chapter 51: Burning for the Last Time

Chapter 51: Burning for the Last Time

Change happens in just a moment!

The frankincense twisted for a moment and suddenly rushed towards the well. A thick steam came towards him, and the sound of dripping water came from a distance, as if something was crawling out of the well.

The statue that was originally placed on the table quickly expanded, from the size of a vase to the size of a child, and it continued to grow.

"Walton, throw out the statue!" Darien shouted at Walton.

Walton quickly opened his eyes and with trembling hands pushed the statue in front of him, which looked like a living person, outwards. The originally light wood became solid and fell to the ground, raising dust.

Darien began to chant a spell, borrowing strength from the natural elements, and the wind responded by blowing continuously, willing to temporarily become the sharp blade in his hand.

The frankincense smoke became shorter and shorter, and the statue grew longer and bigger. Walton, sweating profusely, lifted the statue and threw it out of the circle. At the moment the statue left his hand, the smoke burned out and the statue made a crackling sound.

Walton immediately squatted and crawled under the table.

"Come here." Darien reached out to the cracked statue in the air.

The wind bundled up the statue and flew towards them suddenly. The statue dropped wood chips and crackled to the ground, and the dark brown body surged out from it.

"Are you calling me? My most loyal believers. Oh no, where are you from? I like you, new vessels."

Ferros finally woke up in this body. His face was much clearer than the one on the statue. He had a pair of yellow eyes with vertical pupils, a forked tongue that licked his lips, and a hissing sound when he spoke. There were residual scales on his body, making him look like both a snake and a lizard.

The force of the hand pulling increased, but Darien remained calm and clenched his fingers. "That's disgusting."

"When I eat you, I'll use your skin as my new face!"

Ferros suddenly broke free from the wind beam, and the rotating wind blades immediately cut his limbs. The smelly green blood fell to the ground, burning the soil and causing it to sink.

Sewell and Hawkins poured all the holy water in their hands on Fellowes. The light element burned Fellowes's flesh, making a sizzling sound. A stronger fishy smell and an eardrum-shattering scream burst out from Fellowes' body!

"How dare you! Ahhhhhhh! I will eat you!" The pain drove Fellowes crazy. He twisted his body wildly and struggled, but the bound wind blade cut him with more wounds.

There were bursts of banging sounds coming from the house in the distance. The villagers who were drowsy due to the sleeping potion were awakened by his screams and were controlled to walk towards the door, but were blocked by the formation.

Walton was still huddled under the table, covering his ears and trembling. After drinking the suppressant potion, he was temporarily out of control.

"Hawkins, pour snakeberry gin and fire phosphorus on him, he's a corrupted snake demon!" Darien shouted at Hawkins.

"Although some parts of his body do fit the characteristics, how could he have the ability to help people realize their wishes? As far as I know, snake demons can't do that!" Hawkins shouted as he took out potions, threw the fire phosphorus potion to Seville, and uncorked the snakeberry gin himself.

When Ferros heard their conversation, he struggled even harder and even rushed towards the wind blade. His wound was cut open again, and the dripping blood turned into small snakes crawling all over the ground.

As soon as the little snakes landed on the ground, they were splashed with snakeberry gin. They twitched all over and lost the strength to crawl quickly.

The wine soaked both the little snake and Fellowes through and through. The snakeberry gin can make the snake demon's blood produce toxins, which can quickly paralyze the muscles. Fellowes' body was covered with wounds, so the snakeberry gin took effect even faster.

The fire phosphorus agent acts as a combustion aid, and once it comes into contact with gin, it ignites a purple flame.

Ferros and the little snakes that emerged from his body immediately burned into a fireball. The wind fanned the flames. Amidst the tragic wailing, the sweet taste of the snakeberry became sweeter as it burned.

Darien still held the wind beam tightly, watching Ferros struggling, rolling and burning. He would not let go until Ferros was completely burned to ashes.

"Sevier, bring me that frankincense pot. I have suppression potion and soul trapping potion in my pocket. Pour them into the pot." He said to Sevier.

"Okay." Sewell did as he was told.

The frankincense pot on the table was taken over, and Seville took out two bottles of potion from his body. After mixing them evenly, he placed them not far from the burning Fellowes.

The power of the wind was gradually weakening, and so was Ferros's strength. His body had been burned to charcoal and broke into several pieces and fell to the ground.

Darien chanted another spell, the wind died down, and a wisp of black smoke from the charred body that was deader than dead was drawn into the frankincense pot. As soon as it was thrown in, a sharp crackling sound was heard, and the piercing scream that shook the soul sounded again.

Sewell walked over and put the lid on the violently shaking frankincense pot.

It's almost over.

Darien felt a little tired, which was a normal phenomenon after consuming magic power. He also had to confirm whether Ferros had completely left the body.

The combination of fire phosphorus and wine was very effective in burning the snake demon, leaving only a few curled-up pieces of charcoal on the ground.

Darien broke off a branch and poked the charcoal hard.

The burnt remains of the snake demon were very brittle and crumbled into pieces with just a few touches, revealing a special item hidden in the body.

A bright red jewel heart was revealed.

Darien used the branch in his hand to pull out the gem heart. Even under the dim light of the luminous dust, the gem heart still reflected a strong red light, which looked very unusual.

"Everything that happened here can be explained because of this thing. Although I don't know what it is, I can feel a very powerful energy on it." Hawkins squatted down and looked at the gem heart carefully.

"Take it back and have a look." Darien took out a handkerchief and wrapped it up.

The frankincense pot boiled for a while, then calmed down.

It should be over.

Walton and the missionary were still in the salt circle, and now it was time to let them out.

After Fellowes was dealt with, the energy that he had devoured but not completely consumed was sent back to its original place. Although Walton was still very thin when he crawled out from under the table, he looked like a normal person, no longer a skeleton.

"Thank you very much. Fellowes has been...dealt with, right? We won't have to go through that kind of thing every night anymore, right? I'm still alive, right?" Walton kept touching his face.

"You're still alive, and you have to remember to pay our bills," Darien replied.

"Of course that's no problem. They'll wake up sometime." Walton looked towards the house filled with villagers.

"When the sun rises tomorrow morning, you can go back to sleep. If you can't sleep, I can give you some potion." Darien said.

"That's not necessary." Walton waved his hand quickly.

When the sun rose the next morning, the unconscious villagers woke up one after another.

Everyone has become a little thin, but at least they are still alive. They should get better after taking care of themselves for a while.

As the village chief, Walton raised funds in the village early in the morning to pay the bills he had promised.

Darien didn't ask for much. Even if you searched the whole village upside down, you couldn't find a bag of gold coins. He only asked for three gold coins as a reward.

If the whole village works together, we can still get it together.

"Thank you for your hard work last night. One by one." Darien divided the few gold coins.

"It's not hard, not hard at all." Hawkins quickly put the gold coins into his pocket. His house was burned down and he was short of money now.

"Thank you for your generosity." Sewell smiled.

"You're laughing so hard that it gives me goosebumps." Darien shuddered three times as he looked at his face.

There was only one last thing left to deal with, and that was the peeling missionary.

How to deal with him is indeed a difficult problem.

The villagers of Feilin Village obviously disliked him. Their horrific appearance of peeling skin left a deep impression on them. Having just ended the curse of Ferros, they were wary of missionaries, even though they had killed him before.

"Leave this village. Everything here is over. You are no longer needed here. They are afraid of you, so you'd better leave quickly." Darien said to the missionary.

"Thank you very much for your help. I am a monster, and hiding my identity for so long has exhausted me." The missionary sighed softly.

"Do you want the curse lifted?" Darien asked.

"No, I don't want to." The missionary shook his head. "If the curse is lifted, I should die. I still want to live a good life."

"Then let's go somewhere far away." Darien nodded.

The missionary set out to leave the village, he was probably going to a farther place to meet an unknown fate.

Darien yawned and brushed off the dust on his clothes. It was time for them to go back.

"Where's my soup pot and my soup spoon? Are they safe?" Mrs. Fitch asked nervously.

"They're all fine and made delicious soup." Sewell put Mrs. Fitch's treasures back in their places.

"I'm glad they're all okay. What do you smell like? It's awful, like the fermenting smell of long-forgotten food. You should go take a nice bath right away." Mrs. Fitch pinched her nose, and her little whiskers trembled.

"It should be the smell of the snake demon. He is really disgusting." Darien's expression was not very good. He remembered the fishy blood.

"Dear Darien, then go ahead and relax with some lavender oil. You should get a good rest," said Mrs. Fitch.

"I will. I want milk pudding," said Darien.

"Of course!" replied Mrs. Fitch.

Seville has quietly left. As a qualified butler, he must provide the most considerate service.

He would fill the bathtub with bath water of the right temperature, bath salts and soap, as well as relaxing essential oil candles, soft bathrobes... everything would be prepared thoughtfully.

All Darien had to do was take off his dirty clothes and completely immerse his body in hot water to relax.

If he wants, he can of course lie in the bathtub and let Mr. Crow give him a massage.
