Chapter 7: Walking the Feeling of Mr. Crow's Butt

Chapter 7: Walking the Feeling of Mr. Crow's Butt

"Please go ahead." Darien made a gesture of listening attentively.

"Do you know Master Quentin?" said Lady Mary.

"I've heard a little bit about him. Is he the scammer who sells extremely expensive but ineffective medicine and also likes to use sleep therapy?" Darian accurately attacked his colleague.

"That's right! It's him!" Lady Mary suddenly became extremely excited. "His medicine has no effect at all. It can't change my husband's heart at all. He even dared to say that it's because my heart is not pious enough. Only if I sleep with him can my body be cleansed and my husband love me again."

Darien and Sevier looked at each other and saw the same twitch on each other's faces.

This Quentin really brings discredit to his peers.

"Hmph! I had him beaten up and thrown into the street. He actually dared to make such an unreasonable request to me. He must be coveting my beauty." Lady Mary snorted coldly.

Lady Mary was indeed very beautiful and charming, but her topic had strayed a little too far. If Darien hadn't gotten to the point within three sentences, he would risk causing Lady Mary's dissatisfaction by reminding her to return to the subject.

"King Sauron summoned him to the palace to sleep with him." Lady Mary dropped a bombshell the next moment. "Of course, this was done secretly. Quentin used to trick women into believing that sleeping with him would restore their youth. He never imagined he would end up like this, hahahaha—"

Darien had never expected things to take such a turn. "Sleeping with me? Is that the kind of sleeping with me I imagined?"

"Yes, it's just what you imagined." Lady Mary made a very obscene gesture with her hands.

"For a moment, I didn't know who to sympathize with more." Darien reached out and stroked his forehead.

"It certainly sounds like this is not going to benefit anyone," Sewell said in the same tone.

"I think we should sympathize with Quentin." Lady Mary said sympathy, but her face was full of smiles. "Although Quentin looks a little hard to swallow, at least he is still young. And my boy told me that Quentin has been secretly executed, like this."

She raised her hand and made a clicking gesture.

“That’s a good thing,” Darien said.

Lady Mary smiled and said, "Indeed, this liar who molests women everywhere should have been dragged out and beheaded long ago."

In addition to the incident with Quentin, King Sauron was also suspected of being insane because he began bathing in virgin menstrual blood.

Lady Mary also said that she had not been to the palace for a month. King Soren was a little too crazy, and she was afraid that the mad king would bathe in the blood of beautiful women next.

It’s better to appear less in the palace.

"I heard that King Soren treated his illegitimate son Orlando quite well." Darien thought for a moment and asked.

"Oh, of course. Orlando is the only child of King Sauron's chief mistress, Lady Fiona. He has no claim to the throne, but he enjoys his mother's influence. Lately, he's become increasingly popular at court." Lady Mary took a sip of hot tea. "King Sauron has bestowed upon him generous rewards, including titles, territories, and even money. He holds far more power than those princes."

That was enough for Lady Mary, who became interested in telling some other palace gossips before leaving the shop.

"Sevier, keep an eye on Pluto's income and check our parchment and ink. I suspect Pluto has been cheating recently." Darien took a last reluctant look at the gold coins left by Lady Mary, then pushed the bag of gold coins over.

The magic book has had a big appetite recently and has gained weight. Some barely noticeable scraps of paper and ink can be found next to the bookshelf, so it must have been eating a lot.

"Are we going to put Pluto on weight control?" asked Sewell.

"Let him eat more normally," Darien said. "If he keeps eating like this, I'll go bankrupt."

Cynthia's jewelry box was still upstairs, so Seville left the used tea set and went back upstairs to look for the characters Princess Yolanda mentioned.

The marigold bracelet is detachable and has a hollow layer in the middle where you can secretly hide some spices to emit fragrance.

Darien took out the inner ring of the bracelet, and the marigolds on the outer ring fell one by one on the velvet cloth that had been laid out on the table in advance. There were unclear words engraved on the back.

There were also words engraved on the inner circle. Darien took a book magnifying glass to examine it carefully. The handwriting was a bit ugly, and the engravings were of varying degrees of lightness and he felt a little pain in his eyes.

The soul lives on.

Not seeing any particular meaning, he put down the inner ring of the bracelet and picked up the marigolds to look at them.

He pieced the fragmented characters back together, feeling like he was playing Scrabble.

I have been echoing you in the wind.

There was one last marigold, which Darien thought would work equally well at the beginning or the end.

There was a "K" deeply engraved on the last marigold, which should be the abbreviation of someone's name.

Sewell pushed the door open and walked in, bringing with him a plate of freshly baked cookies from the kitchen.

The sweet banana oatmeal cookies were studded with large dark raisins, and the sweet aroma made Mr. Mage lose his focus on work.

"Help me, I can't go back." Darien simply didn't want to work, he wanted to eat cookies.

Sewell smiled and took out hot black tea and a milk jug from behind him.

Darian poured half a cup of hot black tea into it, added milk, and finally put in two sugar cubes and stirred them. He happily ate the biscuits with the milk tea.

On the other side of the table, Sewell took out a single lens from his pocket and placed it on his high nose bridge, then used tweezers and a screwdriver to reassemble the jewelry.

Crunch, crunch, crunch.

The oatmeal cookies are crispy and have a strong banana flavor. In addition to the sweetness of the cookies themselves, your teeth can also taste the sticky and sweet raisins.

Darien dropped the crumbs onto the plate while eating, and also drank hot milk tea. The astringency of the tea and the mellow taste of the milk could dilute the sweetness in his mouth a little bit, making the biscuits taste even better.

"How do the cookies taste?" asked Sewell.

He was asking knowingly; a plate of unpalatable cookies wouldn't make a constant crunching sound.

"Delicious." Darien was immersed in the cookie time, and his whole body became soft.

I had a double portion of afternoon tea today, and Mr. Master's was a bit too sweet.

Sewell worked on his handwork, occasionally raising his eyes to look briefly at Darien, as if he was quickly licking a candy with his eyes.

Darien looked back and said with his eyes, "Work hard."

Mr. Crow lowered his head and smiled softly.

After the marigold bracelet was assembled, it was placed back in the jewelry box, and the other necklace was taken out for inspection.

The necklace was much more exquisite and elaborate than the bracelet. Cynthia seemed to like marigolds very much. This necklace was custom-made after she became queen. It had the royal mark on it, but no characters.

Although a necklace is much more gorgeous than a bracelet, Cynthia probably treasures her bracelet more.

If Yolanda can bring letters and manuscripts in a few days, then there is a great possibility that we will know who the "K" that Cynthia has hidden is.

Because Avery was in a bad mood and needed some time alone, the tower returned to its former tranquility.

The business of the small shop was neither good nor bad. After paying several inexplicable huge bills, the finances of the tower barely escaped from being shaky and became leaky on all sides.

Darian spent more time in the herb garden. After the herbs that were infected with rot were cleared away, a large area of the herb garden was left empty and needed to be replanted with basic herbs.

The reason why the magic potions in the magic shop come in various flavors such as vegetable soup and fruit juice is inseparable from Darien's careful cultivation.

Once, a noble lady complained that the taste of the potion was too strange, so he grafted herbs with ordinary fruits and vegetables together. The price of the potion doubled with better taste, and unexpectedly, it also served as a theft deterrent.

Darien's gloves were covered in fresh soil. Planting new herbs, filling the soil and then tamping it down with a small shovel was enough work to keep him busy for a long time.

Sewell was on the other side, fertilizing the vegetable patch.

Some of the newly cleared land needed some manure buried in it to replenish the fertilizer, and they planted some new cucumber vines and pumpkin seedlings, as well as eggplant and zucchini.

The climate of the wasteland has always been very stable, neither cold nor hot, but there is a lack of sunlight. Every day, a light spell of varying lengths must be cast according to the growth characteristics of the plants.

"Want to go for a walk together, Seville?" Darien stood up and brushed the dust off his knees.

This is not to seek Mr. Crow's opinion, but to inform him.

"Of course, my pleasure," said Sewell.

There was a creaking of shutters, and the window above them opened.

Darien and Sevier looked up at the same time.

Avery was feeling a bit bored in the room, and when he opened the window he saw two faces looking at him.

"Good morning?" He felt a little embarrassed after hiding for so many days.

"Would you like to go for a walk together?" Darien was very service-oriented towards his guests.

"No, you guys go ahead. I want to stay with Cynthia for a while before the real goodbye." Avery laughed, his mood better than before.

"You can go to the kitchen and ask Mrs. Fitch for breakfast, and then we'll leave first." Darien took off his gloves casually in a bunch of rosemary.

"See you later." Sewell smiled and waved to Avery.

"See you later." Avery waved back.

They turned and walked out onto the grey wasteland, passing the raised fences and leaving the equally grey towers behind them.

There are no animals living on the gray wasteland except for the dull grass and some low shrubs that appear occasionally.

The wasteland was not flat, and there were bumpy stones underfoot. Darien was extremely careful when walking forward, as it would be very painful if he fell on the stones.

"The weather is pretty good today," Sewell said. "I saw a little bit of sunlight peeking through a gap in the clouds, right there."

Darien raised his head and had to squint a little to see the ray of sunshine in the gloomy sky.

"It is indeed a rare good weather, but not the best. Spring has come to the wilderness. Go pick a bunch of flowers for me as a crow." He retracted his gaze and pointed to the scattered and tiny wild flowers.

Mr. Crow sighed softly.

Darien's eyes were covered, the sound of feathers fluttering softly rang in his ears, and the hand that was on his eyes left.

A large crow with glittering feathers fluttered up and down, landing on the small wild flowers, and using its sharp beak to pick out the most beautiful blooming flowers one by one.

Darien sat on the grass, and Mr. Crow, who had turned into a crow, decorated his body with small flowers one by one, trying to enclose him with these flowers the size of sugar cubes.

The black crow hopped back and forth, its raised tail feathers looking plump and shiny.

The way a crow tries hard is really a bit funny, especially when it moves forward with its two short legs interlaced.

Darien bit his lip to stop himself from laughing, then reached out to pluck Mr. Crow's tail feathers.

Who can resist touching his butt when he jogs and can't help but twist his fluffy butt like a jumping puppy?

Darien's hands were quick, but Mr. Crow's butt was even faster. He immediately changed his tail feathers into a dead crow face, and placed his pointed beak on Mr. Mage's fingers to prevent him from taking any further action.

A crow's butt is sacred! Enough is enough!

"My quill has become so useless that I need a new one," Darien lied carelessly.

"Quack." Mr. Crow wanted to speak, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he just quacked and immediately shut his mouth.

This is why Sewell rarely turns back into a crow. Not only does he have to protect his butt, but he also can't control his croaking.

Mr. Crow made a quick decision, selecting two of the longest and most beautiful tail feathers from the tail and quickly placing them into Darien's hand.

The tail will be bald for a while.

Darien tickled Mr. Crow with his feathers in an obnoxious manner and laughed heartily, feeling no guilt at all for teasing the crow.

Mr. Crow quickly changed back into human form, with a helpless expression on his face: "Dear master, our walking time is over."

Darien was very satisfied with the game. He flicked his feathers and said, "Let's go back now."

Whenever you want to go back to the tower, you only need to take two steps and the tower fence will appear in front of you. You don’t have to go back along the same route, which is very friendly for walking.

Bang--

Just as Darien was about to enter through the gate, something fell from the open window with a loud noise.

"Jump, jump off the building——"

A question mark slowly appeared on Darien's face.
