Chapter 13: The first mission!

Chapter 13: First Mission

"What is the mission?" Ye Chen asked.

Bai Long shook his head and said, "I'm not sure about the details, but it seems that the detective department found a place where people were trapped, so they sent the military to rescue them."

Ye Chen nodded and said, "Where is the meeting place?"

“The central square of the community.”

"You go first, I'll be there in a minute." Ye Chen said, and his figure moved, and then turned into a breeze and disappeared, as if he had disappeared out of thin air.

"Huh? Did anyone just come here?" In another bedroom, the young man named Qinghe walked out with a look of surprise on his face.

Bai Long and others looked at him and shook their heads.

To the east of Barracks No. 108, there is a one-story building.

Ye Chen came here and the door was not closed. He walked in and saw something written on the door: Sales point of Commercial Department!

The room was extremely simple, with two desks and two computers on each. Two men, who looked quite strong, were sitting in front of the computers, checking something.

Seeing Ye Chen coming in, one of the men raised his head and looked at him, especially at the horizontal bar on his chest. When he saw that it was a single bar, his expression became much more indifferent. Without standing up, he asked casually, "Excuse me, what do you want to buy?"

Ye Chen walked to the table and said indifferently: "How many military merits does a Type 64 pistol cost?" The one he received was no longer usable. He had to buy two new ones to carry out the mission this time. Although they were not very useful, Ye Chen did not intend to expose his strength too much, so as not to attract too much attention. His every move was under the surveillance of others.

Hearing Ye Chen's words, the man's expression became even more contemptuous, and he said lazily: "0 military merit per sword, how many do you want to buy?"

Hearing the price, Ye Chen couldn't help but frowned slightly. 10 military merits is equivalent to 00g of basic flesh, which can make an ordinary person who has not been strengthened reach the strength of more than ten people.

He groaned for a moment and said, "Give me two."

"Huh?" The man looked at him in surprise. For a soldier, 400 military merits was not a small amount. However, he did not say anything. He tapped on the keyboard a few times and then said, "Show me your military ID."

Ye Chen casually took it out and gave it to him.

The man took a look, entered the name into the computer, searched it, and found Ye Chen's file information. He was shocked: "3660 military merits? With such high military merits, he can become a captain-level figure in the next month."

Ye Chen frowned and said, "Please hurry up."

The man glanced at him, and the contempt in his eyes disappeared. As long as Ye Chen didn't die in the mission, with such military merits, he could definitely become a captain-level figure. The position of a captain was not much different from theirs.

"Wait a moment!" The man walked into a room next door. After a moment, he took out two ordinary pistols and handed them to Ye Chen. Then he took out a receipt from the drawer and said, "Please sign it."

Ye Chen wrote down the name casually.

The man put away the data, then tapped a few times on the keyboard and deducted 400 military merits from Ye Chen. Since there was written evidence, there would be no case of private deduction. Once discovered, the crime would be punishable by death!

The current base city is not perfect, but the local network has been connected, and it has absorbed many professional elite talents to operate it, and it can be connected locally. Therefore, the man was able to find Ye Chen's information at once.

Ye Chen picked up the pistol, turned around and left, rushing to the central square of the community, and immediately saw that many people had gathered there, listening to the captain's speech and saying something that needed attention.

Ye Chen walked over.

The young captain immediately saw Ye Chen, frowned slightly, and said: "Considering that this is your first time, don't be late next time."

Ye Chen nodded and said nothing.

The young captain immediately looked at everyone and said, "This time, rescuing the people trapped in the building is our primary goal. Secondly, I hope everyone will pay more attention to safety. After leaving the base city, follow the command and do not act on your own."

Everyone nodded.

The young captain waved his hand and said, "Okay, let's get ready to go." Then he took the lead and walked outside the community, where a large truck was parked. It was not convenient to drive such a large truck in the community because the roads inside were too narrow. Unless it was an emergency, such as the last time when Captain Zhang arrested Ye Chen and others, he drove straight in to save time.

The group of people put their pistols into the leather armor at their waists and got on the truck.

"Xiaolong, go drive." The young captain ordered. His name was Mu Baifeng.

A sturdy man nodded in response, opened the driver's door, walked up and started the car. With a "whoosh", the truck drove out of the base city. Ye Chen and others sat in the back of the truck.

Ye Chen swayed with the bumps of the car. This feeling was so familiar. He still remembered that in his previous life, he was just like these people. He accepted personal tasks every day, fighting monsters everywhere during the day, and guarding the city gates at night. He was exhausted, and only busyness and fatigue could make him forget the loneliness of being alone.

Not long after, the large truck drove out of the city gate and headed for the wilderness and ruins outside, amid the envious gazes of the new survivors around it. There were basically no monsters near the base city, as they were all wiped out by the soldiers entering and leaving the city gate, with only a very small number of remnants.

Mu Baifeng took out a map with a small red dot marked on it. It was the target of this mission, about five kilometers away from the base city.

On the dilapidated streets, the tall buildings have turned into ruins. There is no human voice at all. Everywhere is filled with silence, mystery, and a gloomy atmosphere. The whole city is lifeless and dead, with only the sound of large truck tires crushing the gravel on the ground.

The people in the car were shaking with the bumps. Everyone was silent and expressionless. In fact, every mission was dealing with death. Moreover, after experiencing so many things, most people were separated from their wives and children and were alone. Only a few still had relatives around them. When they were lonely, they could find someone to chat with, and when they were alone, they could sit together.

There was a depressing atmosphere in the car.

Ye Chen did not say anything. He had long been accustomed to this kind of silence. He just held the cold pistol in his hand and lowered his head in thought.

Yue Heng sat beside the car, looking at the buildings receding on both sides, and yawned out of boredom. Mo Feng, like Ye Chen, sat in a corner, remaining silent.

Bai Long looked at Zhuge Fan beside him and said with a smile: "Guess, is our trip going to be successful or a failure?" He held a one-yuan coin in his hand.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

Zhuge Fanqi asked, "Do you still have this kind of thing on you?"

Bai Long grinned and said, "I picked it up casually and played with it. If you guess it right, everything will go smoothly. If you guess wrong, it will be dangerous. Watch out." As he said that, he flicked his finger and threw it up.

The people around who were originally silent all looked up at the man. Although they despised this extremely idiotic game, at this depressing moment, they still wanted to see if they could guess it right, just like most people know that fortune tellers are all liars, but they still do it for fun.

"I guess... a human head!" Zhuge Fan thought for a while and said.

Bailong slowly opened his palm...a human head!

"It seems that everything is going well." Bai Long laughed.

The people around smiled. Although it was just a game, they were no longer so depressed and felt much more cheerful.

"Once the mission is successfully completed, we must return to the base city for a big meal!" Bai Long said with a smile.

The people around laughed, and a young man said with a smile: "When we come back, I will invite you to the Red Mansion Club. The girls there are the prettiest and the prices are cheap."

"OK!"

"This mission will definitely be successful. I'll kill these damn monsters one by one."

The people around started talking and laughing. A burly man looked at Bai Long and said in a muffled voice, "Little brother, can I guess whether I can get married in this life?"

Everyone was stunned, and then burst into laughter.

"Ashu, I'll introduce a girl to you later."

"Ah Shu, don't believe him. The people he introduces are not good ones."

"Tsk, who is pure in today's society? It's good enough to have a slut to wear. Just like these women dislike men for not being loyal, they are actually not good people either."

"You can't say that. There are still some top-notch ones."

Bai Long smiled slightly and said, "Okay, guess which side?"

The burly man thought for a moment and said, "Human head!"

Bai Long smiled slyly, flicked his finger, and threw the coin into the air.

"roar--"

Just then, a shrill roar was heard in the distance, and two zombie dogs rushed over with a large group of zombies.

Everyone changed color.
