0074 Fallen

0074 Fallen

Song Ning called out to Shen Yuxiu, and Shen Yuxiu responded with an "Mmm," all the remaining resentment in his heart vanished, replaced by endless tenderness.

Song Ning gently brushed against his hair, the scent of camellia filling the air. Her voice was soft and gentle: "I'm going back to my hometown this weekend."

“I’ll go with you.” Shen Yuxiu stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the gate of the residential complex. “Next Monday, it’s time to go back and see your parents.”

Next Monday is the anniversary of Xu Zhihua's death, and he used to accompany her there.

There were still quite a few people in the neighborhood at night, and occasionally someone would glance at them, but Song Ning didn't care: "I want to go back by myself."

Shen Yuxiu froze for a moment, but quickly recovered and even asked her jokingly, "Why do you suddenly want to go back by yourself? Do you think my figure isn't good enough?"

Song Ning couldn't answer why. She couldn't very well say that she wanted to go back and buy a gun to play with, and besides, she wasn't sure if he would stop her.

The last time she impulsively said she wanted to kill Fu Cong, he didn't reply, which made her assume in her heart that he disagreed.

He's always been like this; he never directly refuses her, so when he doesn't want to agree, he uses silence or changes the subject instead.

“How could that be? Those big guys aren’t my type. I like someone like you, slim when dressed, muscular when undressed.” Song Ning wrapped her arms around Shen Yuxiu and coaxed him in a soft voice, “I just have something to do back home. I’ll be back after Monday.”

Shen Yuxiu remained silent, his aura as still and lifeless as death.

Song Ning felt like an eternity had passed since she left the residential area. Only after she reached the gate did she hear him respond with an emotionless "okay."

He then added, "Ningning, if there's anything you need to tell me, please do so."

Song Ning pursed her lips and hugged him tighter: "Of course, if I don't tell you, who else can I tell?"

He chuckled softly, but the laughter was not pleasant.

Shen Yuxiu's emotions lasted only a short time. After he said "okay," the emotions seemed to disappear into thin air, and he became the gentle and reserved Shen Yuxiu again.

Song Ning didn't think the coldness she felt from him earlier was an illusion. She vaguely knew why he was angry, but she didn't want to pinpoint it.

She felt that even if she figured it out, she didn't have a better way to solve it and could only make up for it in other ways.

When they entered the snack shop, Shen Yuxiu had already put Song Ning down. It was around 11 p.m. and there was no one in the shop.

The proprietress, in her forties and petite, was sitting at the cashier playing on her phone. Upon seeing them, she stood up and greeted them as always, "Bringing your boyfriend out to eat again?"

"Hmm, give me a bowl of wontons." Song Ning turned to ask Shen Yuxiu, "What do you want to eat?"

"I'm not hungry, just grab a bottle of water."

The two found a place to sit down, and the proprietress put down some water: "Did you go home for the New Year? I haven't seen you for a while."

Song Ning hummed in agreement, offering no further explanation.

The proprietress didn't seem to mind. They hadn't been open for the New Year, so these were just polite greetings. But had the two of them been arguing today? Even as an outsider, she could tell something was off about the atmosphere.

Shen Yuxiu unscrewed the bottle cap and handed it to Song Ning: "Drink this, your mouth is dry."

The air in Yanjing was dry and cold. Song Ning took the water and drank two sips.

His attitude was as if nothing had happened.

Song Ning would rather he yell at her, throw things, and give her a hard time, but if he really did that, she couldn't imagine what it would look like. He's always been like that; he's a master of emotional control.

After the wontons were served, Song Ning took disposable chopsticks and a soup spoon, scooped up a spoonful, and asked, "Feeding you?"

Shen Yuxiu ruffled her hair: "Eat it yourself."

"Don't rub my head." Even with Shen Yuxiu, she didn't like it.

“I forgot, you didn’t like it,” Shen Yuxiu said with a smile.

It was intentional.

He patted her head very few times, and pretended not to be angry. She was clearly angry, but she didn't have the courage to confront him. She was afraid of his angry expression.

Seeing her like this, Shen Yuxiu tilted his head back to drink water, and after putting the water down, he stopped talking.

"Hehe, why don't you like your boyfriend touching your head? I see all the young couples at school seem to like it," the proprietress joked.

Shen Yuxiu glanced at Song Ning and said, "She feels unhappy that others treat her like a child."

Song Ning glared at him; he would never normally act like this.

The proprietress's gaze swept over Song Ning, assessing her: "How old is she? She looks under 25, right?"

Shen Yuxiu chuckled: "I'll be 20 right after the New Year."

The proprietress was a little embarrassed, but quickly found something to make up for it: "I was wondering why you two, with such a good relationship, weren't you married yet? Such a nice young lady, don't keep people waiting too long."

Shen Yuxiu said casually, "She's young, but she's incredibly bold."

Song Ning: "..."

His ability to obscure the key points and imply the unspoken meaning is truly remarkable; he seized upon a single word out of all the other person's words.

"Haha, young people these days are so brave. Take my son, for example. He's only in junior high school. A few days ago, he caught a snake from somewhere and said he wanted to keep it as a pet. It scared us both half to death," the proprietress said with amusement.

Shen Yuxiu replied, "She used to keep one too. It bit her, and she gave it away. Actually, it wasn't poisonous, so it's fine for her to play with it. But if there's any danger, then it's not okay."

Song Ning glanced at him and noticed that he was unusually talkative today. Moreover, she hadn't given away the snake; she had given it to someone to be soaked in alcohol.

The boss chuckled, "I can see that. This young lady is quite bold. But that's good, no one will dare to bully her. If I had a daughter, I'd be afraid she'd be bullied. Looking at the two of you together, I'm sure this young lady is in charge."

Shen Yuxiu's eyes darkened slightly, and his voice lowered a few decibels: "Yes, listen to her, but... we can't listen to her completely."

"You have to pamper your partner when you're dating, but when you get married, you still have to discuss things with your spouse so that the relationship can last."

The owner brought out a bowl of wontons from the kitchen and said, "It's none of your business how these young lovers behave."

The proprietress took the wontons: "Oh dear, look at me, once I start talking, I just start talking about everything. It's mainly because there's no one around late at night, and my husband doesn't like to talk, so I can't help but talk too much."

Knowing that the landlady was trying to mediate, Shen Yuxiu smiled and said, "You and the boss have such a good relationship, so we should learn more from each other's experiences so we won't quarrel in the future."

Shen Yuxiu's words had a hidden meaning, and Song Ning, being no fool, naturally understood.

She put down her chopsticks and said, "I'm full, let's go back."

Shen Yuxiu glanced at the wontons in his bowl, then got up to pay the bill.

When I got home, only a light bulb that I had left on before leaving the house was on.

Shen Yuxiu held Song Ning in his arms, gently rubbing her waist, his dark eyes deep: "You're full after eating so little?"

His warm breath on her face, his deep, husky voice, was clearly an attempt to seduce her.

Song Ning had never seen Shen Yuxiu with such a bewitching and seductive appearance, and her previous imposing manner weakened a bit: "Loss weight."

"How about we do some more exercise?"

Before she could respond, Shen Yuxiu had already pinned her against the door and was kissing her tenderly and deeply.

His soft lips rose and fell, one after another, while his hand, through her clothes, slowly and deliberately caressed her breasts.

Song Ning felt a tickle in her heart and slightly parted her lips.

His tongue skillfully probed into her mouth, chasing and entwining with her tongue inch by inch. The tip of her tongue was hot and moist, causing a tingling, itchy sensation.

Song Ning stuck out her tongue and entwined it with his, then gripped his collar tightly and pulled him toward her.

Shen Yuxiu reached into her inner garment, tore off her bra, and kneaded her soft, round breasts, teasing her nipples.

In no time, Song Ning's body succumbed to temptation.
