Chapter 19: Slowly Breaking Through His Walls

Having finished eating, Yin Han was absentmindedly repairing the car under the vehicle, occasionally glancing up at Nan Sheng, who was sitting obediently without moving at all.

Sensing his gaze, Nan Sheng also looked over. Seeing that Yin Han was looking at her, she immediately smiled at him without reservation.

Yin Han hastily averted his gaze, forced himself to calm down, quickly checked the car's problems, and then picked up his tools to repair it.

Nan Sheng sat to the side without playing on her phone, nibbling on the remaining cherries and drinking the milk that Yin Han had just finished before throwing away the bottle.

When she returned after throwing away the bottle, she saw Yin Han crawl out from under the car, looking at her anxiously and at a loss.

"Is it all fixed?" Nan Sheng asked in surprise, but did not receive a reply from Yin Han.

She crouched down slightly, noticed Yin Han's gaze, and after a few seconds realized what was going on: "I didn't leave, I just finished my milk and went to throw away the trash."

Nan Sheng pointed to the trash can next to the door.

"Okay, it's fixed. Let's go." Yin Han took off his black gloves, went to the tap to wash his hands, picked up his backpack, and walked out.

As he passed Wang Dali, he said, "Come again tomorrow."

"..." Wang Dali looked at the cars parked in the garage and nodded.

So this kid left early? This has never happened before, this is the first time!

Nan Sheng saw Yin Han walking ahead and hurriedly followed.

As soon as the man left, the workers gathered together.

"Boss, judging from her accent, this beautiful woman doesn't seem to be a local!" a man said, looking at the two of them from behind. Suddenly, he thought they looked like a perfect match, especially with her height being so tall.

"Yeah, yeah, and that beautiful woman's voice is just like her face, amazing! Why wasn't she here to see me?" a man thought to himself in a blissful fantasy.

"Aren't you overlooking a key point? Yin Han spoke as soon as that woman arrived! No wonder he didn't speak; his voice was unusually grating."

"......"

"Go away, you guys are so fussy. Isn't it better to just watch? Stop daydreaming. If you're so capable, why don't you compare your car repair skills with theirs?" Wang Dali glanced at the group and said irritably.

I have to say, I never expected this kid to be so unassuming.

......

"Yin Han, wait for me." Hearing the girl's voice behind him, Yin Han's gloomy mood improved considerably.

When he noticed that all the men's eyes were on her, he wanted to gouge out their eyes and feed them to the wolves. So he couldn't help himself and lied to the girl, saying that his car wasn't finished being repaired. Or perhaps, the moment he saw her, his attention was completely on her.

He was momentarily distracted and looked up but couldn't see anyone. He hurriedly crawled out and was stunned for a long time when he heard the girl say that she had drunk the milk he had just drunk.

She actually drank what he left over... It had been a long time since something like that had happened.

"There's a car." Yin Han turned around, took Nan Sheng's hand, and pretended to be calm as he led her forward.

This sudden closeness caught Nan Sheng off guard, leaving her momentarily speechless. Feeling the warmth from his hand, she didn't move her feet, staring at the hand he was holding.

Yin Han sensed that the people behind him weren't moving forward, and a sudden panic gripped him. Was he just overthinking things?

"Sorry, the traffic light at this pedestrian crossing only lasts for about ten seconds, and there are quite a lot of cars, so..."

Yin Han hurriedly explained, afraid that he would hear disgust coming from her mouth again in the next second.

"No, I want to hold your hand. You're walking too fast. I need to hold your hand, but I feel safer holding your hand like this." Nan Sheng pulled his hand back and intertwined their fingers tightly.

The girl's voice was soft and sweet, and Yin Han couldn't help but feel a little hopeful. Had she really forgiven him? Could they really go back to how things were before?

Yin Han didn't say anything, but instead held the girl's hand tightly as they crossed the road.

Looking at his profile, Nan Sheng felt overjoyed. She believed that as long as she persevered, she would definitely succeed.

"Yin Han, are you going to do another part-time job? Can I go with you? I don't have much to do anyway, and I don't know anyone here."

After crossing the road, Nan Sheng did not let go, but instead took advantage of the situation and hugged Yin Han's arm.

This time, Yin Han neither refused nor avoided the situation.

"No, I'll take you home." Yin Han frowned as he thought about where he was going. Girls weren't suited for that kind of place. If they went there, he couldn't imagine how many eyes he would have to gouge out.

Because he knew that the girl already knew about his part-time job, otherwise she wouldn't have come tonight. And if he didn't let her, she would pester him until he agreed. He had seen how she pestered Lu Zhicheng before.

(Why didn't she ever pester Yin Han? Because Yin Han never refused her; he would agree to anything she asked.)

"Why aren't you going? Don't you want me to come with you? Then I don't have to go."

Nan Sheng didn't want him to work, didn't want him to work so hard, but it wasn't something she could control. She knew very well what kind of person Yin Han was. If she said she had money, that she could help Grandma Li, and that she could give him money, he definitely wouldn't accept it, especially after everything they had been through.

He would have a hard time if he didn't work, so she didn't want to delay his life. She would work hard to make him believe in himself again and then think of other ways to help him.

"I don't not want to."

Seeing her disappointed expression, Yin Han's heart softened a little. He uttered those four short words softly. If it were anyone else, Nan Sheng would have thought it was perfunctory, but it was Yin Han, and Nan Sheng only felt that it was incredibly sincere.

Suddenly an idea popped into her head. Nan Sheng let go of his hand, then hugged his lean waist tightly, and smiled like the sun: "Brother Han, let's go get a haircut, so your eyes can be seen more clearly and you can see me more clearly and see if I really like you, okay?"

The gentle voice gradually broke down the walls Yin Han had built; he had never been able to resist girls.

He looked down at the girl who was smiling at him. She was very beautiful. Compared to three years ago, her face had lost much of its childishness. Her smile seemed to glow, and her two dimples were sweet and lovely.

He admitted that he had broken down.

"Okay." I'll listen to you.

Ten minutes later, the two arrived at a barbershop. Nan Sheng led Yin Han in by the hand, and someone immediately greeted them: "Hello, you two, would you like a haircut or hair coloring?"

Nan Sheng looked over and saw that it was probably the hairdresser here. Her short red hair was extremely eye-catching, and then her face... well, she wouldn't look anymore, otherwise her little Hanhan would be unhappy later.

"A haircut." Nan Sheng then turned to Yin Han and asked, "Brother Han, what hairstyle do you want? Or do you have any ideas?"

"I'll listen to you."

“Okay, then let’s keep the buzz cut.” Nan Sheng seemed to have been waiting for this sentence, and as soon as she finished speaking, her eyes were deep and bright.
