Chapter 28 Sugar-Free Tomato Scrambled Eggs

"Yin Han, you're back!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Yin Han was taken aback, seemingly not expecting her to appear here.

Upon realizing what was happening, he noticed the apron she was wearing, his brow furrowed slightly, and his long fingers clenched. Then, seeing the steam rising from the food on the table not far away, a dark glint flashed in his deep eyes.

His hair no longer covered his eyes as before. Nan Sheng noticed his gaze and thought he didn't like her being there, so she hurriedly explained.

"Yin Han, I'm all better now. I didn't go to school today. I missed you and wanted to see you, so I came here to wait for you after school. I was just with my grandma..."

Before Nan Sheng could finish speaking, she saw a magnified version of the top of her head in front of her.

Yin Han held her hand and examined it from head to toe. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that it was intact, but he felt that her hand was cold and red. He said in a low, ambiguous voice, "Don't go into the kitchen in the future. It's dangerous."

But he didn't let go of her hand.

Hearing what Yin Han said, Nan Sheng relaxed. So he was worried about her. Her eyes immediately crinkled into a smile.

"No, Grandma said she'll teach me a lot of dishes in the future, and I want to learn how to cook them for you."

Yin Han tightened his grip on her hand, unsure how to respond.

"No need, I can do it." Yin Han didn't say these words aloud; he kept them to himself.

"Brother Han, did you miss me too?" Nan Sheng leaned close to him, her face almost touching his chest. She looked up, scratched his chin, and said playfully, "Look, you held my hand as soon as you came in. Is this what they call being unable to let go of someone's hand?"

Yin Han's face flushed slightly. He turned his head away from her hand and said in a flustered tone, "No, your hands are too cold. I'm afraid I'll have to take you to the hospital again."

"Okay, okay, I know you're just shy, I understand. It's enough that I miss you." Nan Sheng stood on tiptoe, trying to whisper in his ear.

Sorry to bother you, I'm not tall enough. Then I pulled the person to sit at the dining table.

"Xiaohan, you're back! Dinner's ready!" Li Xiaomei came out of the kitchen carrying a pot of soup.

"Um,"

Yin Han stood up, took the package, and placed it on the table. He was about to go to the kitchen to wash his hands when he hesitated for a moment, then pulled Nan Sheng, who was next to him, to the kitchen.

Nan Sheng was excited, after all, Yin Han had taken the initiative to pull her along!

"Brother Han, what's wrong? Do you want a hug and a kiss?"

"..." Now that my body is healthy, I'm full of energy.

Yin Han took a basin and filled it with hot water from a very old water dispenser. Nan Sheng, puzzled, stared at him without moving.

Then she watched as he mixed the cold water together, pulled her hand over, and soaked it in the warm water, instantly warming her previously icy hand.

"So you were worried about me!" Nan Sheng also held his hand and soaked it in the water.

Yin Han was about to take a tissue to wipe her hands when she turned her head and felt a soft touch on her cheek.

He was as if he had been struck on an acupoint, his body motionless, his deep eyes meeting the girl's gaze without blinking.

He could understand that the girl was sick and very dependent on him yesterday, since she had done a lot of things for him before.

Now……

Nan Sheng's beautiful eyes were full of smiles: "Thank you, Brother Han, this is a reward for you." After saying that, she went out.

"Xiaohan, why are you taking so long to wash your hands? It's cold, come out and eat quickly, or the food will get cold," Li Xiaomei said to the kitchen.

A short while later, Yin Han came out.

Nan Sheng looked at the boy's neck and ears, which were still flushed. How cute! How could someone blush only on their neck and ears while their face remained completely unaffected?

If she had known before, she would have made him blush every day, and then touched his prickly buzz cut. Thinking this, she decided that she would definitely do that from now on!

After Yin Han sat down, she looked at the table full of dishes: braised lion's head meatballs, steamed pork ribs with fermented black beans, steamed fish, shredded pork with garlic sauce, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and a bowl of vegetable soup with dumplings. None of them were dishes that girls would like to eat.

Grandma just said that the girl bought the vegetables. Yin Han looked at her, seemingly lost in thought.

“Xiaohan, Shengsheng knows you love scrambled eggs with tomatoes, so she specially asked me to teach her how. It took her a long time, and she even burned her hand with oil. Tell me, that shows how important you are to her.” Li Xiaomei’s eyes darted back and forth between the two children.

When Nan Sheng met Yin Han's deep, bright eyes, her heart skipped a beat, and she immediately lost the boldness she had shown when she kissed him in the kitchen.

"It's quite interesting watching Grandma cook. It's her first time trying it, why don't you give it a try?"

Then, it stretched out its little paw and pushed the plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes toward Yin Han: "No sugar was added."

Yin Han picked up his chopsticks under Nan Sheng's expectant gaze, then nodded slightly: "Don't go into the kitchen anymore." After saying that, he continued to work on the scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

Nan Sheng was confused. He should be happy that she cooked for him, so why was he telling her not to come into the kitchen? "Is it not good?"

Nan Sheng also picked up her chopsticks, took a bite, and found that the taste really wasn't very good. She should have tried it when it was first cooked.

Yin Han paused with his chopsticks, glanced at the girl's disappointed expression, and sighed softly. When had he ever said it wasn't good? He was just feeling sorry for her: "No, it's delicious."

Li Xiaomei smiled knowingly and helped Yin Han explain, "Sheng Sheng, it's not that it's not tasty. Even if it really wasn't, Xiao Han would still finish all the sauce because it's the first time his favorite girl has cooked for him. He's just feeling sorry for you! Ignore him and let's eat."

Yin Han stiffened when his grandmother exposed him, his ears turned red again, and he lowered his head to pick up other dishes and stuff them into his mouth.

"Really?! Okay, Grandma, have some. This fish is so fresh!" Nan Sheng was overjoyed. At first, she didn't believe it, but when she saw the boy's reaction, she believed it!

Grandma, you are truly my God!

In the end, a small portion of the large table of food ended up in the stomachs of Grandma and Nan Sheng, while the rest went into Yin Han's stomach and was completely devoured.

This was the most satisfying and filling meal Yin Han had had since arriving in Beicheng, especially the girl's scrambled eggs with tomatoes, which he really enjoyed.

After dinner, Yin Han took the initiative to clear the table and wash the dishes, while Nan Sheng followed behind Yin Han like a little shadow. Li Xiaomei said with great insight, "Grandma is full and is going down for a walk. The landlord asked me to go get the bottles. You guys clean up at home."

"Okay, Grandma."

Nan Sheng had just rolled up her sleeves to help when she heard a hoarse voice: "You sit down, I'll take care of it."

The boy took the bowls and chopsticks into the kitchen, and the girl followed, standing beside him and watching him intently, even resting her chin on her hand.
