Chapter 3 Yin Han, I'm Here

The next day, Nan Sheng refused her family's offer to take her to school. She also chose not to fly, but instead took a twelve-hour bus ride to Beicheng.

For no particular reason, I just wanted to experience what it felt like for Yin Han to be traveling alone on this train.

She may never be able to experience what he felt at that time, but at least she was able to be in sync with him.

Back then, when he was abandoned by her, just released from prison, penniless, and braving the freezing cold to earn his travel expenses, did he hate her to death?

When Nan Sheng thought of the scene she saw in her past life, she felt like she couldn't breathe. He was the person who had "always" been by her side!

How could she have been so heartless back then?

Watching the scenery rush past, Nan Sheng silently said in her heart, "Yin Han, wait for me, wait for me to come and take you home."

......

North City.

Friday, at a middle school in the northern part of the city.

While all the students were happily anticipating the upcoming weekend, one person stood out from the crowd.

After packing up their things, they quietly left through the back door of the classroom.

I arrived at a car repair shop and quickly changed my clothes inside.

"Xiao Han, have something to eat first. This guest's car isn't in a hurry, you have plenty of time." Wang Dali, the owner of the auto repair shop, walked over and pointed to the food on the small table not far away, saying this to Yin Han, who was repairing a car under it.

Yin Han didn't speak, but shook her head and refused.

Wang Dali didn't say anything more. Over the past two months, he had learned more or less about the situation.

He had never seen Yin Han speak; shaking his head or nodding was his only response.

They'll come when it's time, and leave as soon as they're done.

At first, Wang Dali didn't intend to provoke him since he didn't say anything, but Yin Han didn't say anything and directly fixed a car that he couldn't fix, proving his point with his actions.

That's why Wang Dali decided to hire him.

And you know what? Ever since Yin Han came to the repair shop, there's been a steady stream of regular customers, all praising his skills.

Nine o'clock in the evening.

Yin Han walked out of the car repair shop. A cold wind blew by, but he didn't seem to feel the cold as he was only wearing his school uniform jacket. He went into a convenience store and bought a bread and a bottle of mineral water to fill his stomach.

Then I walked to a park bench where there were almost no people and sat down.

In the cold night wind, the moonlight shone on the boy, and only his mouth could be seen moving. His short hair with long bangs covered his eyebrows and eyes, and it was impossible to know what he was thinking.

After a while, he slowly raised his head and looked at the moonlight that pierced his eyes.

She brought him home on such a bright night.

In the end, however, she didn't want him anymore.

She's lying; she clearly said they were destined for each other.

Even so, I still miss her so much. Now, I don't even deserve to be in the same city as her.

Yin Han gently wiped away a tear from the corner of his eye with his slender fingertips, then slowly stood up.

Ten minutes later, he arrived at a food stall.

Looking at the bustling crowds and the lively atmosphere, Yin Han remained unmoved, walked in, took an apron from the boss, and started working.

As everyone knows, barbecue is an indispensable part of any street food stall. Yin Han stood by the grill, grilling skewers. The temperature suddenly changed from cold to scorching hot, a true contrast of ice and fire.

However, gradually, sweat began to bead on Yin Han's forehead. He had no time to wipe it away as menus were placed in front of him, and his hands never stopped moving.

Yin Han was finally able to stop when the food stall gradually emptied out at 2 a.m.

The food stall owner, Zhong Dabao, came over: "Xiaohan, look, there's not much food left. Why don't you take care of your late-night snack at home?" As he spoke, the owner took out some money: "Tonight was good. The customers all said it was delicious. Here's two hundred yuan. Consider the extra hundred a reward for you."

Yin Han didn't refuse, and after making a "hmm" sound through his nose, he took the money and left.

Zhong Dabao shook his head helplessly. He was good at everything, except that he was quiet and didn't like to talk.

"What are you looking at? Pack up and go home to sleep." The proprietress, Ma Chunmei, nudged Zhong Dabao.

Zhong Dabao scratched his head and said, "Honey, what kind of person is Xiaohan? He's quite efficient at his work, and he seems to be good-looking too. But he always likes to cover his eyes with his bangs, and he doesn't like to talk. Also, look, every time he stands there grilling skewers, he attracts a lot of women. Several of them even come up to ask for his WeChat, but he just says he doesn't have a phone. That kind of aloof spirit is rare, really rare!"

Ma Chunmei rolled her eyes at him and said irritably, "You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? Get back to work."

......

In a dilapidated place marked with the word "demolition" everywhere, Yin Han went around to the back, walked through a narrow alley, and entered the stairwell.

There was no light, and the squeaking of mice could be clearly heard in the darkness.

But Yin Han didn't seem to care. Even in the dark, he still walked accurately to his room.

Turn on the light; the house is bare, a small single room with a kitchenette and a toilet.

There was only a bed and a desk inside, and a clothes rack near the small window.

But there were very few clothes on the shelves.

Yin Han walked into the kitchen as usual, opened the pot, and found that it still contained two dishes and rice.

He knew that it was left for him by his grandmother.

He quickly finished his food, went to the bathroom, and didn't care that the water heater was broken. He took a quick cold shower and went to bed.

In this kind of weather, what does it mean to take a cold shower?

Perhaps only Yin Han himself can understand.

He fell asleep the moment he closed his eyes.

As usual, he had one nightmare after another.

The girl looked at him with disgust, resistance, and fear and said, "Please, don't come near me! Stay away from me. Maybe prison is where you belong."

No matter how much he pleaded, the girl ignored him. In prison, many devils used despicable means to humiliate him.

No matter how many times he looked at that gate, he could never see the figure he longed for day and night.

Later, he realized he had truly become the "dirty" woman the girl had described, and he dared not hope for anything more...

the next day.

Nan Sheng finally arrived in the North City.

Looking at the sky over the northern city, her eyes grew even more determined. Yin Han, I'm here.

As soon as she stepped out of the station, she saw someone who looked very familiar.

The man saw her too and was striding towards her.

"What's wrong, puppy? Don't you recognize me? I moved the base to Beicheng right after you graduated, so tell me, am I good enough as your older brother?"

The speaker was none other than Nan Sheng's cousin, Su Chuanlin.

"Big dog! When did you get here?" Seeing her for the first time since her rebirth, Nan Sheng couldn't help but be moved. If you had to say who doted on her the most besides Yin Han and her parents, it would definitely be Su Chuanlin.
