"Ding...ding-dong...ding."

Wen Zhuyao was taking a shower when she heard her phone, which was placed outside, ringing incessantly. She was bombarded with messages, and the steam covered the mirror.

It couldn't cover her eyes.

She washed off the soap, put on her pajamas, wrapped her hair in a towel, and rushed out.

"If you feel sad, you can come to Nuo for support. Nuo is very sticky and can stick to you firmly."

"When people are needed most, please remember the name Nuo. Nuo rice is indeed sticky and chewy, and it is very sticky."

Chi Nuo's sentences and creativity never stop.

"If you're tired, chew on some glutinous rice balls. They're healthier and more energizing!"

When Wen Zhuyao came out, she saw Chi Nuo's message again. She put down her phone, thought for a while, and replied, "Received it. I like Nuonuo."

She tossed her phone onto the bed, went out to get the candied hawthorns from the refrigerator, sat down at the table to watch a movie on her tablet, and ate them all bit by bit.

The sourness of the hawthorn is neutralized by the sugar on the outside, resulting in a sweet and sour taste that isn't particularly pronounced.

It was icy cold, and the strawberries were sweet and sour too.

Chi Nuo felt a sweet warmth in her heart upon receiving the message, and turned her attention back to the group chat. Apart from her reply, the other two had not yet responded.

"Xiaozhu seems to be in a good mood right now, so you can speak freely." She expected that her good mood would last until the end of the conversation, or at least until it completely fell apart.

Mo Wen, besides waiting for new messages, just stared at the chat box hesitating, wondering what kind of reply would be best.

A new message arrived, startling him. The one that didn't pop up in front of him, which relieved him, was that it wasn't from this area.

Mo Wen went back to look, and even though he could get close to someone like Chi Nuo, his answer still left him feeling uncertain, as if he were swinging back and forth on a vine.

There is no place to settle down.

He didn't know how long the vines could hold on.

Even if you have some ideas and answers about something in the morning, you forget them in an instant when you actually have to deal with it.

There was only panic and helplessness.

Wen Zhuyao cleaned up the scraps and threw them into the trash can. She opened Mo Wen's chat window and returned to the present, where two more hours had passed.

She knew he wasn't busy.

So she sent a new message.

"Ding-dong..."

Mo Wen's notification sound rang again. He waited in the group chat for a few seconds but didn't see any messages. He refreshed the page, but still nothing.

He seemed to suddenly realize something, his hand stiffly gripping the phone, remaining in that position, stunned.

"Didn't you receive it?" Wen Zhuyao muttered to herself, then sent another message.

"Ding-dong..."

The second blow struck his heart. Mo Wen knew he couldn't wait any longer. He had to go and see for himself, to find the answer and verify if it was true.

Mo Wen let his thoughts control his body, opened Wen Zhuyao's message box, and saw the two messages.

Wen Zhuyao: "I just wanted to talk to you. There's no need to dwell on anything. We can't just leave our issues to ourselves. No matter what, we need to reach a conclusion."

Wen Zhuyao: "Relax a little."

"Relax a little." Mo Wen muttered these words, as if he had lost his sense of relaxation at some point.

Sensitive, anxious, tentative, certain.

These emotions keep cycling repeatedly, without ever finding a stable pause or even a change.

When they actually got there, Mo Wen didn't know what to talk about, so he told the truth: "I... I suddenly don't know what to talk about right now."

"It's not that we have nothing to say, it's that we can't quite grasp the topics." He didn't know how to describe it, what he wanted to say, to reflect on, and to explain after meeting face to face.

Everything has already turned into bubbles and dissipated in the air; he can neither create anything new nor hold onto the old.

I'm stuck here in an awkward situation.

Upon seeing the reply, Wen Zhuyao honestly said, "Actually, I can't think of anything to talk about either, but I feel that we should have an answer."

"Whether the answer to this matter is breaking up, not breaking up, or just resolving an argument, I think it can be considered the end of this matter."

She felt that since the matter wasn't handled properly at the beginning, it would take time to resolve.

Wen Zhuyao is in a very good state now, so she wants to set a time: "I was very impulsive back then, and my emotions were a bit extreme, but I won't be like that now."

"I can have a clear, calm, and stable conversation. What about you?"

Mo Wen looked at these words and didn't know how to respond. Was he sober now?

Thankfully, I'm still quite lucid.

Does he understand? Is he stable? That's hard to say.

"Let's set a time. Before that, should we relax and give ourselves some time to change or think deeply?"

"Once the decision is made, no one should change it easily. I think we can resolve everything properly." Mo Wen now realized that Ji Shu and Bai Yuzhou were right.

Wen Zhuyao: "Okay, then let's do it after the New Year."

The whole matter has come to an end.

"So, it's still dragging on?" Chi Nuo looked at the screenshot that was sent, touched her chin, and couldn't understand it.

Mo Wen immediately went to announce the good news after the deal was finalized, not to see this. He replied, "How can this be called dragging things out? Time will help feelings develop."

"As long as we think things through, and have clear bottom lines and boundaries, then..."

What are you mumbling about? Chi Nuo clapped her hands perfunctorily: "I don't understand, but I'm happy for you. I'll help you if you need anything."

Ji Shu surprisingly spoke up, saying, "It's good that you've thought it through. Didn't we say we'd get together after the New Year? Let's do it together when we have time."

"Isn't this a bad idea?" Mo Wen's good mood faded considerably. "If the talks break down, or if we really come up with a bad result, how embarrassing would that be?"

Bai Yuzhou: "It's rare to see you like this. Your true personality isn't like what you've shown before."

"Brother Bai, you've gone a bit off-topic." Chi Nuo rolled in and then rolled away, leaving behind an extra mouth-covering emoji.

Wen Zhuyao had no idea that they were having a private conversation, which was becoming increasingly profound.

She is now facing yet another conversation.

"Ring ring... Ring ring..."

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Wen Zhuyao glanced at the time; it was almost 11 o'clock. She wondered who would come.

She went out to call her parents, but neither of them was home. It turned out that the light she saw when she came back wasn't left on when they went to sleep, but left on before they left.

The doorbell kept ringing, so Wen Zhuyao had no choice but to open the door first, and then struggle with who it was, how to contact the person, and how to resolve the situation.

"clang……"

The cup fell to the ground and was placed on the coffee table. The person who had been drinking water waved his hand at the distracted Wen Zhuyao, saying, "It's really not Aunt Lin's fault. This is someone from our neighborhood, and he's the son of your dad's colleague."

"Did you hear me? I'm saving all these great resources for you." Aunt Lin said this with heartfelt sincerity, and even waited for her to say something after she finished speaking.

"Yes, yes, thank you very much." Wen Zhuyao knew that she would not harm her. In her experience, those who were close to her were more reliable than those who were not.

It's so wonderful that she was chosen despite everyone's objections.

Even if it's great, Wen Zhuyao is still not interested, but she didn't refuse: "I understand, Auntie. I'll go and make contact, but it's hard to say whether it's suitable or not."

"Auntie knows this. If you get along, great. If not, you're fine on your own. Wait for Auntie's next opportunity." After saying this, Aunt Lin prepared to get up and leave, giving him a hug before she left.

Wen Zhuyao tried to persuade him to stay: "Won't you sit for a while longer?"

"I'm not sitting here anymore. I wouldn't have come back here if some good resource hadn't popped up. It's so boring. Auntie's leaving now." Aunt Lin came in a hurry and left in a hurry.

She took her phone and asked her parents in the "Loving Family" group chat what kind of person this aunt was.

I rarely see Wen Zhuyao; I've only heard of her a lot. The few times I've met her, she's been a really good person.

The group chat, which hadn't been active for a long time, briefly became lively again.

When Wen's mother brought this up, she was a little embarrassed to say it: "Well, to tell you the truth, your father, mother, and you... you know, let's leave this topic alone."

"Actually, it was your aunt who said it in a group chat, one against twenty people."

Wen Zhuyao couldn't believe it: "Huh? But I'm not familiar with her. You could count the number of times I've met her on one hand in my entire life."

“She took care of you when you were little, and that’s just her personality. She was the same age as you when I gave birth to you.”

When Wen's mother talked about these things, she was somewhat envious: "Then, there were all sorts of pressure to get married and have children. Unlike my mother, she told all the things that were said about her, and then she left home to make her own way in the world."

"She only reports good news and not bad news. She broke out of her shell and took control of your grandparents' finances, so everything was left to her."

“She’s still all alone,” Wen’s mother said with some concern, wondering if she could overcome this loneliness. “We discussed having someone nearby to look after her, but she insisted she hadn’t had enough fun and would talk about it later. Sigh.”

Wen Zhuyao was quite taken aback by this answer: "Oh, I see."

It seems she needs time to think carefully about her answer regarding family matters; she feels that a one-dimensional perspective is too...

"Ding-dong..." A new message notification popped up.

"Hello?"

Wen Zhuyao switched back and saw a message from an unfamiliar chat box. She didn't remember this person or when she added them.

The person continued sending messages.

"I'm the blind date that Aunt Lin introduced me to. I know you, and I want us to just get by with each other."

Wen Zhuyao didn't understand. Why not just deal with each other and directly refuse? Why go through all this trouble?

Next, upon seeing the name sent by the other party, Wen Zhuyao knew who he was and what the details were.

"I am Chen Yan."

Wen Zhuyao had a senior and a junior in school. They were in a campus romance that started in junior high and has continued until now, and they have always been in the same school.

During her school years, Su Yu was a very kind person, and her gentle personality helped her a lot.

Even after leaving school, their relationship remained stable, allowing them to talk freely and maintain transparency on social media.

However, a long time ago, she couldn't remember exactly how long ago, all of Su Yu's social media accounts became inactive, and she gradually forgot about them.

The recollection ends.

Chen Yan sent another message, earnestly saying, "I know I'm being presumptuous, but among all the people around us, you're the only one we know."

"I beg you, please help us."
