Chapter 22

Chapter 22

"Wait for me!"

There was another driver in the car, and Yan Qing looked at him to ask for his opinion.

"A cocktail party at the branch office."

Yang Mingzhou got into the car in a hurry. When he saw the driver, he shrank and looked at Ming Xu with wide eyes: "Why is he here?"

The driver smiled: "Long time no see, young master."

The person being questioned ignored him, and Ming Xu spoke from behind: "The driver was lent to me by Sister Zhao Ye."

Yan Qing said he understood, and looked at the person who was sulking in the passenger seat. He was very angry and didn't say a word the whole way.

The car drove to a mountain villa and stopped. The door was opened. Yang Mingzhou got out of the car reluctantly, but saw the two people in the back seat were motionless. He panicked for a moment: "You two, get out quickly."

Mingxu lowered half of the car window, raised his arm and waved at him: "Enjoy it."

As soon as he finished speaking, the car started. Yang Mingzhou was stunned in place, and then he realized that he had been tricked: "Ming Xu!"

He looked around and saw several people looking at him. He forced himself to calm down. The driver was his sister's man. Was his sister here? Suddenly, he seemed to have thought of something and ran away.

It's still a step too late.

"Ming Zhou."

A deep voice came from behind him, and he could recognize it.

Forcing a smile uglier than crying, Yang Mingzhou slowly turned around and said, "Dad." When he saw the people next to his father, his back teeth almost broke. "Good evening, sister."

"Why don't you go home to Beicheng?" Yang's father had a serious face. If his daughter hadn't accidentally let it slip, he and his wife would not have known that their youngest son was at the door. When they heard him say that he didn't want to come back, they had no choice but to contact Mingli and staged such a scene.

Faced with his father's questioning, Yang Mingzhou immediately put on the appearance of a filial son, stepped forward, took his father's arm, and pushed away the people around him: "Dad, I left just a few days after I came back. I told my sister that I would come back next month to accompany you and mom. Who knew that my sister would betray me." As he said that, he glared at Yang Zhaoye.

Father Yang listened to his son's words and, after seeing their interaction, remained serious: "Why blame your sister? She's still speaking for you. How disrespectful."

"Yes, I know I was wrong. Where's Mom?"

He went to look for his mother without saying a word, just like when he was a child. Father Yang was already used to it: "Your mother went to Jingcheng and will be back in a few days."

Yang Mingzhou patted his chest and breathed a sigh of relief. No wonder he didn't notice the danger. It turned out that his mother was not at home.

The three of them entered the hall together and saw Yang Zhaoye and Mr. Yang appear at the same time. Many bosses gathered around them.

"Boss Yang, this is the young master, right?"

Yang Mingzhou didn't like socializing and wanted to hide aside, but his sister stopped him and told him not to run around.

Seeing the interaction between the two, everyone knew what was going on.

There were also some ignorant people who wanted to approach him and ask, "Boss Yang, are you planning to let the young master return to the company?"

When these words were spoken, everyone present was stunned and looked at each other.

Before his father and sister could speak, Yang Mingzhou spoke up, looking down at the man and leaning closer: "Your mouth stinks."

This sentence represents Yang Mingzhou's thoughts. He is free. Since childhood, the two brothers have been taught that the family business belongs to the most capable. His sister is also more capable and ambitious to lead the Yang family business to a higher level.

"Mingzhou!" Father Yang seemed to be scolding his son, but in fact he was warning everyone. He quickly changed into an approachable demeanor, "Zhao Ye's abilities should be obvious to everyone. If anyone has any dissatisfaction, you can come to my house and we can talk over tea."

There were rumors spreading in the outside world about the heir of the Yang family, but now these rumors can be stopped.

Father Yang left not long after staying, saying that he wanted to go home and rest.

"I'm definitely going home to watch TV. I'm going to tell my mom."

After coming out of the cocktail party, Yang Mingzhou looked at his sister, wanting to say something but stopping himself.

"Just say whatever you want to say."

"Sister, don't take those words to heart." Even though his sister had an iron fist, people were kind-hearted. He had heard a lot of similar words, not to mention that his sister was in this position. She would have to endure more than him. After thinking so much in her mind, she only said this sentence in the end.

Yang Zhaoye patted her brother's head, her eyes softening as she whispered softly, "I don't care about that, and you don't have to listen to me. Just do whatever you want to do. Your sister and mom and dad will always be your solid support."

After a few minutes of tenderness between the siblings, Yang Mingzhou began to criticize: "Sister, you did this on purpose this time, didn't you?"

"What did you say?" Yang Zhaoye pretended to be dumb. "I have something else to do. I'll leave first."

"What could have happened so late? Yang Zhaoye, I knew you did it on purpose!"

Leaving Yang Mingzhou behind, Yan Qing was still a little worried: "Is it really okay for you to do this? Will he be angry?"

Ming Xu didn't care: "If his father beats him up, he won't have time to be angry with us." He knew Yang Mingzhou very well, and he would just express his anger.

Yan Qing seemed to have lost focus and was a little worried: "Will his father beat him?"

"Um."

"Has your father ever beaten you?" Yan Qing's eyes sparkled, as if he wanted to see through something.

Mingxu was startled and looked at him. Their eyes met and he asked, "What do you want to hear?"

Why is this guy digging a hole in the opposite direction? Yan Qing turned his head and ignored him.

"When I was little, I was someone else's kid, and all the beatings were left to my brother."

The driver dropped the two off at a restaurant and left.

Yan Qing was puzzled. Why did he have to run so far to eat?

Looking at the restaurant's decoration style, she felt very familiar. Ming Xu saw her expression and answered her question: "This is the first restaurant I opened. It serves Spanish cuisine."

As far as Yan Qing knew, Mingxu University was in Haicheng.

"Someone told me at the beginning that there was no Western restaurant in North City that suited her taste."

Yan Qing paused and looked at Ming Xu in disbelief.

"This is my first time here."

"It opened ten days after you left." Mingxu's expression was calm, as if he was discussing what to eat in the evening. "Now, he has finally waited for the person he was waiting for."

Yan Qing looked away in panic, trying to dilute the meaning of this sentence.

Ming Xu said: "Try it and see if it suits your taste."

Ming Xu had ordered the dishes early in the morning, and they started to be served one after another the moment they entered the door. He didn't know what kind of Spanish food Yan Qing liked, so the dishes on the table were all his guesses.

Fortunately, the answer will be revealed soon.

Yan Qing's first stop on her college entrance exam graduation trip was Spain. It was her first time eating authentic Spanish food, and she couldn't forget it. The second time she went, she couldn't find the same flavor, or perhaps the same feeling had vanished. It was like looking at the person in front of you while thinking about the past.

She carefully picked up a piece of ham, put it in her mouth, and the aroma exploded on her tongue.

He nodded under Mingxu's expectant gaze.

Both of them seemed relieved.

“It’s delicious.”

Yan Qing seemed to have guessed what Ming Xu was going to say next and immediately changed the subject: "This tastes just like the one I had in Spain. Very authentic."

At this time, the chef came out and expressed his gratitude to Yan Qing.

Looking at the foreigner's face, Yan Qing was a little dazed and whispered to Ming Xu: "Foreigners all have the same face. I think I've seen it somewhere."

Ming Xu motioned the people around him to leave, served Yan Qing a bowl of seafood rice, and casually said, "He's Spanish. When I met him, his restaurant had just closed down."

So that's how it is. No wonder the rice I make tastes the same as what I remember.

Yan Qing didn't say anything and just quietly fed his food.

"The Spanish food in the north city is terrible. I ate a lot of it in Granada during my graduation trip. I still miss it. I must go there again when I have the chance."

Listening to the girl's longing and expectation in the headphones, Ming Xu took note of this strange city.

After that, Yan Qing began to ask his friend about his interests and hobbies, "Brother Meiqiu, what kind of food do you like?"

“I rarely eat out.”

An unexpected answer. Boys of this age should like to go out, but I didn’t expect him to be different.

Yan Qing didn't believe it: "You are lying to me!"

Mingxu smiled and didn't refute.

The two chatted casually in the language room. Yan Qing will graduate next year. Although her parents have no expectations of her, the atmosphere around her still aroused her fear of the unknown.

"Brother Meiqiu, what job did you find after graduation?"

“I started my own business.”

Freelance, Yan Qing became interested and asked him to talk more.

I didn’t expect that Brother Meiqiu’s first venture was to open a restaurant.

"What kind of restaurant are you planning to open? Spanish food? If you open a branch, you must come to North City. There really is no good Spanish food in North City!"

"Okay, I'll invite you to cut the ribbon when the business opens."

"It's a deal."

Yan Qing still broke his promise. Ming Xu looked at the message that had not been replied for a week and sneered at himself.

Ming Xu looked up at the person opposite him, his dark eyes revealing no emotion.

"Why did you leave without saying goodbye?"

He still asked this question. He never thought that they would meet again. When Yan Qing left suddenly, several people in the gang who were familiar with her went to ask Zhou Mingshu, but Zhou Mingshu kept his mouth shut and just said that he knew nothing. Later, he heard the news that Yan Qing went abroad.

Until that day, when he saw that familiar face reflected in the glass, he would never forget it.

Yan Qing didn't expect Ming Xu to be so direct: "Haven't you asked this before?"

"I want to hear the truth."

As silent as ever, Mingxu no longer asked any questions.

Back at the hotel, Yan Qing looked at his back, biting her lower lip, not knowing how to start.

She called Zhou Mingshu and said, "The fact that you two are meeting again shows that your fate is not over. His repeated questions don't necessarily mean he wants to know the truth."

Yang Mingzhou returned to the hotel still angry, but when he saw Mingxu's gloomy face, his frustrated expression disappeared. He gossiped, "Did you two have another fight?"

After being denied, he began to analyze: "I don't think Yan Qing's departure back then was necessarily a big deal. It's normal for her to stop playing games when she's tired of it. If she doesn't say it, then don't say it. You should cherish the opportunity to meet again now."

"I don't necessarily need to know the answer. I just want to confirm whether she will leave again."

Ming Xu was a little excited. He had had many arguments with his family in order to open a branch in North City. Fortunately, his elder brother supported him and provided a lot of funds. Everything was settled. When he couldn't wait to tell the most important person, he found that she had disappeared completely.

Yang Mingzhou had never seen Ming Xu like this before. He was always calm, and the obstacles he encountered when he first started his business did not defeat him.

But when it comes to Yan Qing, he seems like a different person. Ming Xu is very frustrated. He doesn't know what to do and doesn't dare to touch him.

He collapsed on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling, muttering, "I'm afraid she'll leave me again."

"You never had it."
