After having breakfast carefully prepared by Cai Damei, Ye Yunniang, Li Pan, and Li An left home together.
They parted ways at the alley entrance.
Ye Yunniang arrived at the Baise Embroidery Shop.
Baise is currently taking inventory.
"You're here just in time. You can take stock of this batch of goods," Baise said, handing the booklet in his hand to Ye Yunniang.
Ye Yunniang took the booklet, which recorded various colors of embroidery thread. Below the name were information such as quantity, purchase price, and total price.
Ye Yunniang checked the embroidery threads in the two large boxes according to the booklet.
Under Baise's guidance, a small portion of the embroidery thread was placed in the display case. The majority of the remaining thread was placed in the corresponding location in the warehouse in the backyard.
After finishing all that, the day was over.
Ye Yunniang went home and first went to the school to pick up her two children.
Li Pan and Li An walked out of the school gate and saw their mother.
"Mother/Mother!" the two called out as they ran to Ye Yunniang's side.
"Mother, how was your day at the embroidery shop?"
Are you tired?
"It must be very tiring."
"Mother should go home and rest earlier."
"Yes. We can go back by ourselves."
Before Ye Yunniang could speak, the two finished their one-on-one conversation.
“Let’s talk about it when we get home.” Even after returning home, Cai Damei and Li Ping would ask the same question.
Ye Yunniang simply said it all at once.
Back home, after dinner, Ye Yunniang recounted her day at the embroidery shop and answered their questions.
Jinjia Restaurant opened on February 28.
Ye Yunniang and Cai Damei arrived at the restaurant.
From afar, the four large characters "金玉满堂" (meaning "Abundant Wealth and Prosperity") shone brightly in the sunlight.
Chef Jin and Chunyao stood at the door to greet the guests.
"Sister Chunyao, congratulations to Brother-in-law Jin."
Ye Yunniang then presented her congratulatory gift, a golden toad painted with gold paint, symbolizing abundant wealth.
Chunyao liked it very much and wouldn't let go of the golden toad.
After exchanging a few words, Ye Yunniang and Cai Damei entered the restaurant.
The restaurant has two floors. The first floor is spacious with no partitions, while the second floor has private rooms that offer a high degree of privacy.
Cai Damei looked around and asked, "Have Jiang Mingyue and the others arrived?"
"I didn't see it," Ye Yunniang shook her head.
The reason Cai Damei came today was because Ye Yunniang told her that Jiang Mingyue's family wanted to take advantage of their family.
Cai Damei wanted to see clearly who it was so she could be on guard in the future.
"They've arrived. There are four people at the door. The older one is Bai Yurong, the man is Li Mingshu, and the younger woman is Jiang Mingyue. Bai Yurong is holding Jiang Mingyi's hand."
Having memorized the four people's appearances, Cai Damei commented, "The whole family has shifty eyes."
“Mother is right,” Ye Yunniang agreed with Cai Damei.
Upon meeting the person they were supposed to see, the two did not linger and left the Golden Jade Hall.
When Chunyao finished her work and tried to find the two men, they were no longer in the restaurant.
Chef Jin stopped Chunyao, who was looking for someone.
Why are Jiang Mingyue and the others with your family?
"I don't know," Chunyao said, puzzled.
"Did you tell your family about the young master's affairs?" Chef Jin asked sternly.
"I didn't," Chunyao protested.
Jin Dachuan noticed the fleeting guilty look in Chunyao's eyes.
"What did you promise me?" Chef Jin asked, disappointed.
"No, I didn't. My mother promised me she wouldn't say anything."
"You promised me you wouldn't tell anyone." Chef Jin's words silenced Chunyao.
After a while, Chunyao grabbed Chef Jin's hand and said, "Dachuan, I was wrong."
After many years of marriage, Chef Jin couldn't bear to be harsh on his wife.
"You know my temper, this is the last time."
Chunyao repeatedly assured, "I will never tell my family anything again."
"I remember what you said." Chef Jin went to greet the guests.
"You've invited me to the wedding?" Ye Yunniang stared wide-eyed at Liang Maimiao. "You and your mother have made up?"
“My father came to see me,” Liang Maimiao explained. She didn’t want to go back to her parents’ home, but her father came to her house looking for her.
Liang Maimiao's father, brother and sister-in-law, and sister have always treated her very well.
It wouldn't be right for her, as the older sister, not to go back for her younger sister's wedding.
With that thought in mind, Liang Maimiao went back to her parents' home to do a wedding for Liang Hemiao.
Liang Hemiao held Liang Maimiao's hand and said that she wanted to invite Ye Yunniang to her wedding.
She was grateful to Ye Yunniang for embroidering her wedding dress and red veil.
"I also received money." Ye Yunniang didn't want to go to the Liang family; she wasn't used to being polite to someone who wouldn't listen.
“We’re not going to the Liang family, we’re going to her husband’s family.” Liang Maimiao said, which puzzled Ye Yun even more.
Why go to her in-laws' house?
Liang Maimiao explained that Liang Hemiao wanted to thank Ye Yunniang on their wedding day.
Because of what Yang Guihua had done before, Liang Hemiao felt awkward inviting Ye Yunniang to the Liang family home. She thought it best to have Ye Yunniang visit her husband's family instead.
"No. It's not appropriate for a widow like me to go to her husband's family." Ye Yunniang sensed something was wrong, but couldn't quite put her finger on it, so she could only decline.
“Yunniang, I know this is difficult for you. But I only have one younger sister, and she just wants to see you on her wedding day to thank you for the beautiful wedding dress you embroidered for her. Please help me out, okay?” Liang Maimiao pleaded.
“Alright,” Ye Yunniang agreed.
"Yunniang, you're so kind. I'll be in the procession sending off the bride's mother on the wedding day. I'll take you to see her then."
After seeing Liang Maimiao off, Ye Yunniang went to the backyard to find Cai Damei.
Cai Damei is breastfeeding Bao Shuyi.
Bao Min watched gently as the baby nursed.
Ye Yunniang knocked on the door and came in.
Cai Damei glanced at Bao Min and gestured for him to leave.
"Master Bao, you don't need to go out. I might need your help with this matter."
Reluctantly, Bao Min sat back down in his original seat.
"Tell me, what do you need my help with?"
