Chapter 187 Arrival in the Capital

The family of four enjoyed their farewell dinner together.

Ye Yunniang suddenly remembered that she had promised Lu Xueying something and hadn't told Jiang Mingzhe yet.

The shops are all in Li Ping's hands, and Jiang Mingzhe doesn't intend to get involved. He'll let Li Ping handle it.

"How can Pingping handle the Jiang family's affairs?" Ye Yunniang was worried that Li Ping would be bullied.

“Mother, I won’t be bullied.” Li Ping felt that Ye Yun’s mother was underestimating him.

"No matter how smart you are, you're still just a 7-year-old child."

The Jiang family members have been immersed in the business and political arenas for many years. Their life experience speaks for itself. No matter how clever Li Ping is, he can't compare to them in terms of scheming and manipulating people.

Jiang Mingzhe understood Ye Yunniang's concerns.

However, if Li Ping wants to become the true owner of the Yunhua Chamber of Commerce, these are the things he must go through.

If Li Ping suffers a loss, Jiang Mingzhe will not stand idly by. He will definitely make those who bullied his son pay the price.

"Mother, I'll be careful," Li Ping assured her from the side.

"Listen to other people's opinions when you encounter problems, and don't just act on a whim," Ye Yunniang instructed, because she was genuinely worried about Li Ping.

Li Ping obediently agreed.

After having dinner and chatting for a while, everyone returned to their rooms to rest.

Jiang Mingzhe held several sheets of paper covered with names.

Ye Xiyun, Ye Yuan...

"Why are they all surnamed Ye?"

Jiang Mingzhe was still afraid that something would go wrong if the child took his surname. The surname Li wasn't suitable; taking the mother's surname was just as good.

Ye Yunniang thought about how badly her biological father and stepmother had treated her, and she didn't want her child to have the surname Ye.

Ye Yunniang didn't argue with Jiang Mingzhe much and decided to decide the child's surname after the child was born.

I slept soundly through the night until dawn.

After having breakfast with the children and sending them to school.

Ye Yunniang and Jiang Mingzhe left Jiangcheng in a carriage.

The carriage had been specially modified so that Ye Yunniang could not feel any bumps while sitting inside.

Listening to Jiang Mingzhe reading aloud, I gradually drifted off to sleep.

Jiangcheng is a thousand miles away from the capital, and it would normally take a horse-drawn carriage a month and a half to travel there.

Jiang Mingzhe slowed down the car, considering Ye Yunniang's pregnancy.

They traveled for almost two and a half months to reach the capital.

They lined up to enter the city gate, and the carriage stopped at the residence that Jiang Mingzhe had arranged to buy in advance.

Ye Yunniang dismounted, looking quite well.

In Jiangcheng, Ye Yunniang vomited every day while lying down, but she hardly vomited at all during the carriage ride.

“Our daughter is very active,” Ye Yunniang said to Jiang Mingzhe with a smile.

"Let's go out more often in the future," Jiang Mingzhe suggested.

Ye Yunniang happily agreed.

After resting for a night in the courtyard, Ye Yunniang couldn't wait to go to the Bao family. She wanted to see Cai Damei, Li An, and Cai Shuyi, whom she hadn't seen for more than two months.

When they arrived at the Bao family's house, they were stopped.

The gatekeeper of the Bao family said in one sentence: "No one can enter without a visiting card."

Ye Yunniang realized that she had been rash and should have sent a visiting card first.

"Madam, it was my oversight that I didn't prepare a visiting card," Qiu Shuang said, blaming herself.

"I didn't expect that either. Let's go back first." Ye Yunniang turned around and prepared to get into the carriage to go back.

"Ye Yunniang, what are you doing here? You've come to the capital? When did you arrive? Why are you standing at my door? Why don't you come in?" Tong Mo strode over.

Seeing Ye Yunniang preparing to return to the carriage, the gatekeeper not far away looked somewhat nervous.

Tong Mo understood.

"I'll take you into the mansion. Your aunt will be very happy to hear that you're here."

Ye Yunniang followed Tong Mo into the Bao family home and arrived at the courtyard where Bao Min lived in the backyard.

The gatekeeper has disappeared.

The maids and servants assigned to serve Cai Damei were not in the room to watch over her.

Pushing open Cai Damei's room door, a faint, unpleasant odor wafted into my nose.

Ye Yunniang's bad premonition intensified, and she quickly walked a few steps to the bedside.

Cai Damei's already pale face became even paler and bloodless.

"Mother." Ye Yunniang grasped Cai Damei's hand. "Mother, I'm here. I've come to find you."

As Ye Yunniang spoke, she smelled a strong odor of urine.

When the blanket was pulled back forcefully, Cai Damei's body was soaked.

Ye Yunniang turned her head and questioned, "Is this how Bao Min takes care of my mother?"

"I... I didn't know it was like this?" Tong Mo cursed Bao Min for doing something wrong, and blamed himself for being angry with Bao Shao and staying in the Prince's Mansion all day without visiting Cai Damei more often.

Ye Yunniang didn't want to listen to Tong Mo anymore. "Qiushuang, carry your mother away."

Qiu Xiang stepped forward and picked up Cai Damei, blanket and all.

"Auntie can't leave." Tong Mo tried to stop her; if Cai Damei left, Bao Min would kill him if he found out.

"Tong Mo, get out of the way." Ye Yunniang's tone was icy, her eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Ye Yunniang, your uncle will give you an explanation."

"I don't want any explanation right now. I just want to take my mother home. Tong Mo, don't force me to take action, get out of my way." Ye Yunniang's voice became more forceful.

Tong Mo took a step back and stepped aside.

Ye Yunniang strode out, with Qiu Shuang following closely behind.

Tong Mo watched as Ye Yunniang led people to take Cai Damei away, far away from the Bao family.

"Tong Mo, what are you doing here?"

"Where did you go? How did you take care of your aunt?" Tong Mo vented all the anger she had suffered at Ye Yunniang's hands on Bao Min.

"Tong Mo, how dare you speak to your uncle like that?" Bao Shao frowned. It was all Tong Tiemei's doing; he had no respect for elders and showed no regard for his seniors.

"My aunt has been taken away by Ye Yunniang," Tong Mo said, then turned and left.

"Tong Mo is back. Why did she take Madam away? What happened while I was away for a few days?"

"Go inside and see for yourself," Tong Mo said before leaving.

Upon hearing this, Bao Min strode into the courtyard.

I opened the door and smelled an odor. I walked to the bed and found the mattress was wet.
