Chapter 34 Another Encounter with Adultery

Jiang Tingjun moved. He pushed all the items for the baby's first birthday celebration together, and then, with the force of a mountain pressing down, he lay down on them.

Jiang Tingjun's current appearance reminded Ye Yunniang of a scene from the village where children caught a turtle and, to tease it, flipped it over, leaving it upside down in a comical pose.

Ye Yunniang pursed her lips, trying not to laugh out loud.

Inside the room, some people couldn't help but laugh at Jiang Tingjun's comical behavior.

I burst out laughing.

Laughter rang out one after another, until the whole room was filled with laughter.

The one laughing the loudest was his biological father, Jiang Mingrui.

"Good lad, you're truly my offspring. Why choose? You should have them all, hahaha..."

Madam Jiang covered her eyes with her left hand and reached her right hand to Jiang Mingrui's waist, twisting it forcefully.

Uh… Jiang Mingrui’s voice changed instantly, his eyes pleading, “Madam, let go.”

Madam Jiang gave him a look that said, "We'll settle the score later."

"Son, take one, take a book."

If Jiang Tingjun can listen to Madam Jiang, then he's not a one-year-old child.

He waved his hands and feet excitedly, his eyes looking at Madam Jiang as if he were saying something.

Look how clever I am.

This made the laughter inside the room even louder.

"Jun'er is destined to be a man of both literary and martial talents," a member of the Jin family said, trying to defend their grandson.

“Yeah, yeah…” the others echoed with laughter.

Unbeknownst to Jiang Tingjun, his first birthday celebration had become famous.

In Jiangcheng, any prominent family that holds a baby's first birthday celebration will inevitably mention Jiang Tingjun's story from today.

After the baby's first birthday celebration, Jiang Tingjun was no longer involved.

Tao Hong carried Jiang Tingjun away, but he was unwilling. He couldn't abandon his precious child.

Aunt Jinlan asked Ye Yunniang and Hongcai to stay behind and organize the items for the baby's first birthday celebration, then transport them back to Fanghua Courtyard.

While tidying up, Hongcai was taken away to do some work, leaving Ye Yunniang to carry everything by herself.

None of these were heavy, so Ye Yunniang asked the old woman guarding the gate of Chunze Courtyard to borrow a large basket.

After placing the items for the baby's first birthday celebration in a basket, and avoiding areas frequented by guests, they returned to Fanghua Courtyard.

Put the items into the new No. 3 toy box.

Ye Yunniang returned to Chunze Courtyard with the basket, returned it to the old woman guarding the gate, and gave her a handful of copper coins as a token of her gratitude.

After finishing her work for the day, Ye Yunniang prepared to return to Zhiyuxuan.

As I passed by an artificial hill, I heard intermittent groans and panting.

Ye Yunniang's body tensed up immediately.

Who is so bold as to have an affair on a day like this?

Ye Yunniang felt incredibly unlucky; why did she have to encounter such bad things again?

The murderous glint in Madam Jiang's eyes flashed through Ye Yunniang's mind, and she dared not linger or be curious.

In a moment of panic, I accidentally kicked a pebble. The pebble rolled and fell into a small pond nearby.

The sound of water splashing startled the wild mandarin ducks behind the artificial hill.

"Who?" A rough voice called out, followed by the rustling sound of clothes being put on.

Ye Yunniang realized she was in trouble and hurriedly ran towards the bamboo grove not far away.

The man who came out from the artificial hill saw a splash of red disappear into the bamboo grove.

"Did you see who it was?" The woman who came out last asked in a hoarse voice filled with lust.

"The one in the red clothes is running towards the bamboo forest." He couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman, or what their appearance, height, or weight was.

"We can't let anyone see us." The two said as they headed towards the bamboo grove.

Behind the bamboo grove is a two-story bamboo building.

The first floor was empty, with only four pillars supporting the four corners.

The second floor consists of normal rooms, but with the doors and windows closed, it's possible someone could be hiding there.

"Why is there a bamboo house here?" the woman asked, puzzled.

“A few years ago, the old man, indulging in a bit of refined taste, planted this bamboo grove and built a bamboo house. But his interest waned after a few days. Usually, nobody comes here.” The man said, stepping forward first, followed by the woman.

Pushing open the door, the room was simply furnished.

A bamboo couch, a bamboo table, four bamboo chairs, and a bamboo screen symbolizing peace and good fortune.

The two of them turned their gazes to the screen at the same time.

They flanked from the left and right.

There's everything behind the screen.

"Let's see if there are any mechanisms?" the woman said, raising her hand to tap and bang around the room.

The two searched carefully but found no place where people might be hiding.

"Are you sure you're not mistaken?" the woman asked doubtfully.

The man did not answer, but instead looked at the big tree by the back window.

The woman followed the man's gaze and saw a red cloth strip hanging on a tree branch outside the window.

The man reached out and took it off, then handed it to the woman.

The woman took it, examined it carefully, and then smelled it. "The soft red silk gauze is a hassle."

"What's the problem?" the man asked, puzzled.

"Soft red gauze is a new fabric that's fashionable in Jiangnan this year. It costs 30 taels of silver per foot." Those who can afford to have clothes made of soft red gauze are definitely not servants. They are either the ladies of the household or the distinguished guests they've invited.

This is really troublesome.

The man's expression also turned serious. "Let's find out who it is first. She only heard the voice; she doesn't know who we are."

"It's all your fault." The woman playfully punched the other woman.

The man grasped the woman's small fist and gently bit it.

"It's my fault for not being able to control myself. It's my fault for being so infatuated with you." The man's teasing words immediately aroused the woman's lingering passion.

With a soft moan, the woman collapsed into the man's arms, letting him have his way.

"Um...no...what if someone else...um..." The woman's voice was broken and incoherent.

"Didn't we check everything? There's no one else here. My dear sister, don't you miss your brother?" The man's words put the woman at ease.

The two quickly resumed what had been interrupted in the bamboo house.

Unaware that someone was watching them from behind a painting, the two lost in their passion were oblivious.
