Chapter 75 Brown Sugar Water

Upon hearing this, Ye Yunniang thought of Jiang Mingzhe.

He raised his hand and then lowered it, shaking his head. "All I want to do is raise Pan'er."

"You're still young, you can't just think about Pan'er." Aunt Guihua comforted Ye Yunniang. "What your mother said at noon is that people have to think about themselves. I think she's right. You should think more about yourself."

“Aunt Guihua, what you said makes sense. But Pan’er is still young. Let’s consider it again in a couple of years.” Ye Yunniang did not firmly say no.

"That's the right way to think." Aunt Guihua was satisfied and got up to go to the kitchen to make two bowls of brown sugar water.

"Here, have some brown sugar water."

Ye Yunniang took the brown sugar water and drank a sip.

I wanted to say something, but I felt dizzy and weak.

"Aunt Guihua, why!

"Yunniang, I'm sorry." Aunt Guihua reached out to support Ye Yunniang, who was weak all over.

The door to the Li family's house was pushed open, and two strong young men walked in, carrying a box.

The two men swiftly packed Ye Yunniang into the box.

Ye Yunniang's only moving eye was fixed on the room. Inside, Li Pan and Li An were asleep.

Ye Yunniang blinked only after the box door closed, blocking out all the light.

Ye Yunniang, who was lying in the box, was lifted onto the carriage.

The carriage stopped after traveling for about 15 minutes.

The box was opened, and Ye Yunniang was carried out and placed on the bed.

As Ye Yunniang watched the sky outside the window gradually darken, her anxiety grew.

"I don't know, how is Mother?"

Li Wu, along with Cai Damei and Li Nan, climbed to a crooked little tree halfway up Xiaobeishan Mountain and stopped.

I wonder what Li Wu pressed at the base of the crooked tree?

A cave appeared next to the tree.

"Wolf Fang, I'm hiding inside the cave," Li Wu said as he entered the cave.

Li Nan followed him inside.

Cai Damei entered the cave shortly afterward. After taking a few steps, she could no longer see Li Wu and Li Nan ahead.

Cai Damei turned around; the stone door of the cave was closing.

"No—" Cai Damei shouted and ran towards the cave entrance.

If you hesitate, the door will close, but there will still be a gap through which you can see Li Wu and Li Nan standing in the doorway.

Li Wu grinned maliciously, "Cai Damei, today is your death day." There are many large Buddha statues guarding Xiaobei Mountain, so even if Li Jun and Li Min turned into vengeful ghosts, they couldn't get through.

Li Nan, standing to the side, glanced around nervously, avoiding looking at Cai Damei.

Cai Damei pushed the stone door hard, but there was no response.

"Li Wu, where's the wolf fang?" Cai Damei didn't care about her own life or death; she only wanted her son's wolf fang necklace.

Li Wu pulled out a wolf tooth from his pocket and waved it at Cai Damei.

"Give me the wolf fang." Cai Damei reached out through the gap, wanting the wolf fang.

Li Wu wouldn't give it to her, and with a flick of his wrist, he tried to throw the wolf fang necklace away. Li Nan grabbed Li Wu's hand and snatched the necklace from him.

"Li Nan, are you going to back out?" Li Wu shouted angrily.

“This doesn’t conflict with our agreement.” Li Nan slipped the wolf tooth through the gap to Cai Damei.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Cai." Li Nan said, her face full of shame.

Cai Damei caught the wolf tooth necklace and examined it carefully by the light from the gap. It was the wolf tooth necklace that Jun'er had carried since he was a child.

After confirming that the wolf fang necklace was real, Cai Damei looked up at Li Nan and asked, "Do your parents know?"

"My father doesn't know."

Li Wenkuo was unaware, but Aunt Guihua knew and was involved. He thought of Ye Yunniang and her two children at Li Nan's house.

"Tong Mo must protect Ye Yunniang."

On the other side, Ye Yunniang, who had been lying down for an unknown amount of time, felt a bit of strength returning to her body. She tried to sit up.

The sound of the window rattling reached her ears, and Ye Yunniang turned her head to look.

Tong Mo pushed open the window and jumped in. "Are you hungry? I brought some sesame seed cakes. Your sesame seed cakes are really delicious."

"Pan'er, An'er, Mother." Ye Yunniang said the names of the people she cared about with all her might.

“Li Pan and the other two are fine, someone is watching them. I don’t know about your mother. Uncle, the adults are taking care of her.” Tong Mo stuffed a sesame seed cake into Ye Yunniang’s hand, gesturing for her to eat.

Ye Yunniang was too weak to hold the sesame seed cake.

Tong Mo caught the falling sesame seed cake.

"Oh dear, I forgot about your Chinese medicine."

Tong Mo took out a small bottle from his pocket and poured out a pill.

They forcefully pried open Ye Yunniang's mouth and stuffed the medicine inside.

"alright."

"What's done?" Ye Yunniang said in a complete sentence, realizing that she could speak and move again.

Ye Yunniang tried to sit up, get out of bed, and leave.

Tong Mo stopped Ye Yunniang, "You can't leave now."

"What are you trying to do?" Ye Yunniang was wary of Tong Mo, who always had a nonchalant smile on his face.

"I can't say what it is. Just know one thing: I, Tong Mo, will make sure you're safe." Tong Mo patted his chest to assure him.

Ye Yunniang rolled her eyes; Tong Mo's words sounded completely fake.

"If you agree to cooperate with us to complete the next mission, I personally guarantee that I will provide assistance to Jiang Mingzhe, helping him to have a greater chance of returning alive." Tong Mo stated his conditions, crossing his arms and waiting for Ye Yunniang to express her gratitude.

Ye Yunniang lowered her head, got out of bed, put on her shoes, and walked out while holding onto the table.

Tong Mo stopped Ye Yunniang, "Didn't you hear what I said?"

Ye Yunniang looked up at Tong Mo and said, "Move aside."

"You heartless woman, how can you abandon your lover?" Tong Mo accused Ye Yunniang of being heartless.

"My business with Master Jiang is none of your concern. As for your so-called help, I don't believe it." Ye Yunniang recalled what Jiang Mingzhe had said on the boat.

"Yunniang, remember. No matter who asks you to agree to anything about me, no matter what conditions they offer, remember, don't agree. I will come back," Jiang Mingzhe instructed Ye Yunniang.

Ye Yunniang always listened to Jiang Mingzhe, and she ignored Tong Mo's suggestion.

"I'm going to tell Jiang Mingzhe what you said, so he'll know you're a heartless woman. I'll make him dump you and the child in your belly," Tong Mo threatened.

Ye Yunniang rolled her eyes at Tong Mo again and walked towards the door.

There were footsteps outside the door.

While Ye Yunniang was anxiously wondering what to do, Tong Mo put a pill into her mouth.

"You," Ye Yunniang began, but before she could finish speaking, her body went limp and she collapsed.

Tong Mo reached out and caught Ye Yunniang, then carried her back to the bed.

Then, like a monkey, Tong Mo lightly jumped and flew to sit on the roof beam.

Ye Yunniang struggled to move on the bed, but couldn't muster the strength. Her gaze fell on Tong Mo on the roof beam. If looks could kill, Ye Yunniang's gaze would have already torn Tong Mo to pieces.

Tong Mo grinned and sat on the roof beam eating a sesame seed cake.

A middle-aged woman dressed in fine clothes walked in through the door.

Tong Mo, perched on the roof beam, silently uttered, "Madam Huang."

Madam Huang came to the bedside, looked Ye Yunniang up and down, then raised her hand and slapped Ye Yunniang hard.

One hand gripped Madam Huang's wrist.
