Chapter 81 Li Nan and Xie Lanhua

Upon hearing this, Cai Hua's fierce expression softened, and she looked at Li Wenkuo with shining eyes, "Can you let my man out?"

Li Wenkuo couldn't, but he knew who could. He glanced at Cai Damei out of the corner of his eye as he thought this.

I couldn't help but recall the man's warning.

Li Wenkuo was filled with regret. He should have dissuaded Guihua from marrying Xie the Crippled's daughter.

Li Nan has always been headstrong, and when he reached marriageable age, Aunt Guihua introduced him to several women, but he wasn't satisfied with any of them. This made Aunt Guihua so angry that she cried in front of Li Wenkuo more than once.

Li Wenkuo talked to Li Nan and learned that Li Nan already had someone in his heart.

Li Wenkuo was delighted to hear this, thinking it was a good thing, and asked which family's girl it was.

Li Nan gave the woman's name and home address.

The girl's name was Xie Lanhua, and she was a villager from the next village.

Xie Lanhua and her father, Xie the Cripple, were well-known in several nearby villages.

Xie Lanhua was famous for her competence; she was a young woman who shouldered the heavy responsibility of supporting her family.

Xie was known for his limp, not because of an accident, but because he lost money gambling. Unable to pay his debts, his leg was broken.

With a gambling father like that, no matter how capable Xie Lanhua was, no one would want to marry her.

Xie the Cripple had already announced that if anyone wanted to marry his daughter, the bride price had to be 50 taels of silver.

In rural areas, one tael of silver can last a year, while 50 taels can last a lifetime.

Knowing that Li Nan and Xie Lanhua were getting together, Li Wenkuo and Aunt Guihua both disapproved.

In order to discourage Li Nan, Aunt Guihua refused to pay any bride price.

Li Nan was also determined; in order to marry the girl he loved, he went out to work and earn money. He wanted to marry Xie Lanhua by earning money through his own abilities.

Before he had earned enough money, Xie Lanhua was tied up by Xie the Cripple and put into a bridal sedan chair, then carried into the Huang landlord's house.

Xie Lanhua was forced to undergo a wedding ceremony and became Huang Jiabao's bride to bring him good luck.

Li Wenkuo and Aunt Guihua thought that Li Nan knew that Xie Lanhua would settle down after getting married and be willing to live a good life.

Li Nan went directly to work for the landlord Huang's family, wanting to be close to his sweetheart.

Later, Huang Jiabao died of illness, and the Huang family blamed Xie Lanhua, so they wanted her to be buried with him.

Li Nan was unwilling to let his lover be buried with him, so he spoke up to stop it and offered a suggestion.

The suggestion was to have Ye Yunniang and Huang Jiabao accompany each other in a ghost marriage.

Cai Damei had already experienced Li Wu's evil firsthand. She wasn't surprised by anything he did.

But Cai Damei had practically watched Li Nan grow up. Li Nan and Li Jun were about the same age and had a very good relationship.

When Li Nan was a child, he often came to Li Jun's house. Cai Damei always treated him to the best food and drinks.

Li Nan often said that Li Jun was his half-brother.

With such a bond, Li Nan was still able to kill his good brother's widowed mother and widow for the sake of his lover.

Bao Min had told Cai Damei about these things, fearing that she might be soft-hearted and let Li Nan off the hook.

Cai Damei harbored more hatred for Li Nan than for Li Wu.

Thinking of Li Nan locked up in jail, Li Wenkuo steeled himself and went to Cai Damei's side, "Damei,"

"Don't speak." Cai Damei didn't want to say another word to Li Wenkuo.

The words Li Wenkuo was about to say lingered in his mouth, but he finally said, "I'm sorry to Minzi, and I'm sorry to you and your mother-in-law."

Li Wenkuo sincerely apologized, but Cai Damei refused to accept it. The damage has already been done; it's impossible to let bygones be bygones with just an apology.

dream!

Li Wenkuo finally spoke up to plead for his son.

"Sister, could you..."

"No." Cai Damei refused decisively; she would never forgive Li Nan, not in this lifetime.

If it weren't for Bao Min, she might have really died in the cave. Yunniang would have been forced into a ghost marriage.

"I haven't finished speaking yet."

“You don’t need to say anything, I already know what you’re going to say.” Cai Damei glanced at Li Wenkuo. “I will not go to plead for Li Wu and Li Nan, who want to kill me.” She wished they were both dead.

"Impossible! Xiao Nan wouldn't even dare kill a chicken. She wouldn't go and kill someone!" Li Wenkuo didn't believe what Cai Damei said.

"If you don't believe me, why are you begging me?" Cai Damei's words made Li Wenkuo blush, and he hesitated for a long time before speaking.

"Big sister, please help Xiao Nan. He's just a child, he doesn't think about the consequences of his actions. He doesn't want the woman he loves to die."

“He just let us, mother and daughter-in-law, be killed and buried. Look at this.” Cai Damei pointed to the wound on her forehead. “All of this was caused by your son.”

Cai Damei didn't want to talk to Li Wenkuo any longer and urged Tong Mo to hurry up.

Tong Mo recalled Bao Min's instructions: "Do whatever your aunt tells you to do. Don't dawdle."

Tong Mo dared not refute, and quickened his pace. He took the lead, and the people he brought also hurried to speed up.

"Village chief, you don't mean she can save my man, do you?" Cai Hua, who was watching Li Wenkuo's actions, questioned him.

Li Wenkuo nodded.

“Impossible, how could Sister Cai have that ability?” Cai Hua didn’t believe it.

Back in her maternal home, she and Cai Damei were neighbors, and they knew each other's situation well.

She got married, and since they were neighbors, they knew each other's situations very well.

Cai Hua simply couldn't believe that Cai Damei, a woman inferior to her in every way, could have such great abilities.

Cai Hua didn't like it, and Cai Da Mei ignored it.

The grave has been dug up.

She brought her grandson Li Pan and kowtowed to Li Jun and Li Min to explain the situation.

A gentle breeze blew by, like a human hand caressing my cheek.

"Brother Minzi, is that you?" Cai Damei was overjoyed as she felt the gentle breeze.

Snap!

Cai Damei turned around, and Tong Mo stepped on Cai Hua's back. No matter how hard Cai Hua struggled, she couldn't move.

"Small,"

Under Cai Damei's murderous gaze, Tong Mo swallowed the "aunt" at the end and spoke instead, "She's going to ambush you."
