Zijuan walked in with hurried steps.
Ye Yunniang and the other two left last night and have not returned to Fanghua Courtyard.
Madam Jiang couldn't sense it, so she sent people to look for her.
Because Old Master Jiang doesn't believe in these things and doesn't allow such practices in the mansion.
Furthermore, this matter also involves the second branch of the Jiang family.
Madam Jiang didn't dare to search openly, so she had people search secretly.
After some searching, they learned that the light from the burning paper money had attracted the patrolling servants. Ye Yunniang and the other two had been locked up in the Bamboo Rhyme Pavilion in the front yard.
Zhu Yunxuan was managed by Granny Kong, the wet nurse of Old Master Jiang.
Granny Kong was always incorruptible and impartial. Once someone made a mistake and went to jail, it was usually useless for anyone in the mansion to plead for them.
Ye Yunniang and the other two are for Jiang Tingjun. It's impossible for Madam Jiang the Fourth to do nothing.
Early in the morning, Madam Jiang took Jiang Tingjun to find Old Madam Jiang.
He recounted in detail what happened in the fourth house.
"Nonsense." Old Madam Jiang didn't believe in these things either, and slammed her hand on the table upon hearing this.
“Mother, your daughter-in-law doesn’t want to believe it either. But Jun’er,” Madam Jiang Si took Jiang Tingjun from Chun Yao’s arms and handed him to Old Madam Jiang.
Looking at Jiang Tingjun's thinner face, Old Madam Jiang said with heartache, "Jun'er, how did you become so thin?" She took him and held him in her arms.
It's much lighter than it was two weeks ago.
He was dissatisfied with Madam Jiang because she hadn't taken good care of her grandson.
"Ever since my second sister-in-law had her miscarriage, Jun'er hasn't had a good night's sleep. Doctors have been called, and medicine and acupuncture have been given, but nothing has worked."
I also invited Zhang the Blind Man with some skepticism. When Zhang the Blind Man arrived, he explained everything clearly without asking any questions. "That is," Madam Jiang paused here, wiping away tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief.
"I also took a 'better safe than sorry' approach and had the wet nurse do as Zhang the blind man said." Madam Jiang paused, a smile appearing on her lips. "After midnight, Jun'er stopped crying and slept soundly."
Madam Jiang now truly believed that Zhang the Blind was capable.
As Madam Jiang listened to what Fourth Madam Jiang said, she looked down at her little grandson who was blowing bubbles at her.
"Alright," Old Madam Jiang agreed and wrote a note.
Zijuan took the note and hurried over to Zhuyunxuan.
Fortunately, they arrived in time; otherwise, Ye Yunniang and the other two's hands would have been smashed.
Granny Kong saw the note.
"Rules cannot be disregarded, but we must remain focused on the main task. The 30 strokes of the cane are waived, but a two-month salary deduction will be imposed," said Granny Kong, announcing the new regulations.
Ye Yunniang and the other two thanked her happily.
Zijuan led the three of them away from Zhuyunxuan and back to Fanghua Courtyard, to the main house.
Madam Jiang inquired about the events of the previous night.
Ye Yunniang explained the situation, but concealed the fact that she had comforted the infant.
The marks on his neck disappeared overnight.
Dongqing was puzzled, realizing that she had overthought things last night.
"I've made up for the monthly fines you three were owed. Go back and rest." Madam Jiang didn't say anything more.
Ye Yunniang bowed and withdrew.
Ye Yunniang and Granny Shi returned to Zhiyuxuan.
Pear was waiting for them at Zhiyuxuan. Both of them had calming incense burning in their rooms.
Ye Yunniang fell into a deep sleep.
In her dream, Ye Yunniang felt that she was in a garden. She heard voices and crying.
"Young master, don't cry. We're in the garden now. Look how beautiful these flowers are..." Zi Yuan carried Jiang Tingjun as they walked through the garden, and before they knew it, they had reached the crossroads.
Sounds came from Qushui Courtyard.
Jiang Tingjun pointed to go.
"Young master, do you want to see your younger brother? The Eighth Young Master is still in your second aunt's belly. You can only play together after he is born."
"Let's play," Jiang Tingjun echoed.
As the word "play" faded, a dark figure drifted in from the direction of Qushui Courtyard.
Jiang Tingjun wasn't afraid at all, playing with the shadowy figures that others couldn't see.
After playing for a while, Jiang Tingjun returned to Fanghua Academy.
The shadowy figure wasn't tired; he followed them back.
He wanted Jiang Tingjun to play with him the whole time. He woke up the sleeping Jiang Tingjun.
Jiang Tingjun was sleepy and couldn't sleep, so he started crying.
Ye Yunniang opened her eyes.
"Sister is awake." Pear, who was guarding the door, turned around when she heard the noise.
"What time is it?" Ye Yunniang sat up, shook her head, her neck was a little sore from sleeping.
"Three o'clock in the afternoon," Li'er replied, pouring water for Ye Yunniang to wash up.
"I'll do it myself." Ye Yunniang got up, dressed, walked to the washstand, and brushed her teeth and washed her face.
Pear went to fetch the food.
Coral, accompanied by her entourage, delivered the gifts from Madam Jiang.
"Nanny Ye, you worked hard yesterday, you can rest for three days. Master Zhang said you should spend more time in the sun." Coral said and left.
Ye Yunniang respectfully saw Shanhu off.
Turning around, I saw two boxes, one large and one small, placed on another empty bed.
Ye Yunniang first opened the small box, which was filled with silver ingots. Each silver ingot weighed 10 taels, and there were 20 ingots in two layers.
Ye Yunniang counted on her fingers and found that she had 200 taels of silver.
"With this money, we can buy the house Mother wants." Ye Yunniang felt that everything that happened last night was nothing.
Ye Yunniang opened the large chest again, which contained cloth, furs, gold, silver, jade and other clothing items and jewelry.
Ye Yunniang kept it safe.
The obedient child came to the yard and sat down to bask in the sun.
Although there won't be much sun this time.
Pear returned carrying a food box, and the food was placed on the stone table.
While eating, Ye Yunniang listened to Li'er tell the latest gossip.
"Did you know? The Second Madam's miscarriage was caused by Fairy Ma?" Pear dropped a bombshell.
"I told you before that the Second Madam might not be able to give birth to this child. And now, it's true. Sigh!" Pear sighed, feeling sorry for Zhuang Meixue.
