Chapter 103 Fighting to the End

"If you can't speak properly, you might as well not have a mouth." Ignoring the injury on her hand, Ye Yunniang slapped Wang Cuicui's face again and again.

When Old Lady Wang saw her daughter being beaten, she wanted to go and help.

Liang Maimiao couldn't bear to see her good friend being beaten, so she rushed up to stop Old Lady Wang.

Granny Wang was no match for Liang Maimiao, and she yelled at Huandi.

"Aren't you going to help?"

Huan Di harbored deep resentment towards Old Lady Wang, who tormented him every day, and Wang Cuicui, who constantly berated him for only giving birth to money-losing children.

She was overjoyed that the two men were being beaten, and had no intention of helping them.

Granny Wang called out, and Huan Di couldn't stand idly by. He hesitated, took a step forward, and then stopped.

Li An held a dagger in his hand, his eyes fierce like a wolf cub's, staring at Huan Di.

Huandi was so frightened that he pulled his daughter back and dared not go forward.

Wang Cuicui was being beaten by Ye Yunniang.

Ye Yunniang directed all her hatred for Wang Daxing onto Wang Cuicui.

Ye Yunniang stopped beating Wang Cuicui until she was unable to fight back. She grabbed Li Pan and Liang Maimiao, winked at Li An, and retreated to the front door.

Ye Yunniang stood on the threshold. "I don't need to say more about what happened that night. The neighbors all saw it and know why."

All I want to say now is that I, Ye Yunniang, have done nothing wrong and have a clear conscience.

Some people want to use fabricated stories about me being a widow, like using handkerchiefs or stripping me naked, to force me into submission so they can do whatever they want.

"Hmph, you've miscalculated." Ye Yunniang's words were not only for the Wang family, but also for anyone present with ulterior motives. No matter who it was, if they dared to smear her, Ye Yunniang would definitely stand her ground.

“Well said, Yunniang, I support you.” Qiu Fang, who had been enduring the situation with Zhang Er and Xiu Mei, suddenly spoke up.

It's someone else's fault, why blame yourself? Qiu Fang came to this realization, and her lifeless demeanor returned.

"I support you. If anyone brings this up against you in the future, I'll slap them across the face." As a woman herself, and a widow, Granny Zhang understood Ye Yunniang's hardships even more.

Most of the other women were also supportive.

Among the crowd, Niu Dajiao and Wang Pozi, who wanted to say something, dared not speak.

"Ye Yunniang is not bad." Tong Tiemei, who had been watching the events unfold from a distance, had a much different impression of Ye Yunniang.

"Mother, don't stop me." Tong Mo saw Ye Yunniang being bullied and was about to rush over to stand up for her, but was stopped by Tong Tiemei.

"Do you even have a brain? You're not going to stand up for Ye Yunniang, you're going to embarrass her, you're going to solidify the evidence of her adultery." Tong Tiemei was disgusted with Tong Mo; she hadn't inherited any of her shrewdness. She had inherited his father's stupidity entirely.

"How could that be?" Tong Mo said in disbelief.

“Xiao Mo, if you really want to help Ye Yunniang, then go and urge your uncle to close the case as soon as possible,” Zhou Wenbo said from the side.

"I dare not." Tong Mo thought of Bao Min's instructions: not to disturb Cai Damei before she was born.

"Look at your pathetic self, do you think your uncle would eat you?" Tong Tiemei couldn't bear to look at Tong Mo.

"My uncle won't eat me, but he can make me wish I were dead." Of all the people Tong Mo fears, Bao Min is second to none.

“Your uncle will definitely take care of this.” Ye Yunniang and Li Pan were Cai Damei’s biggest concerns. If anything happened to them, Bao Min would definitely not stand idly by.

Tong Mo thought about it and agreed, then got up to go find Bao Min.

After sending their son away, Tong Tiemei and Zhou Bowen got up and headed towards the Li family's house. A man followed behind them.

Arriving at the Li family's house, I knocked on the door.

Ang Lee opened the door. "Who are you looking for?"

"Looking for you."

"Looking for me?" Li An asked, puzzled.

"An'an, who are you talking to?" Ye Yunniang came out after re-bandaging her hand.

Upon seeing Tong Tiemei, Zhou Bowen, and the man beside them, his expression changed. He quickly stepped forward to shield Li An behind him and reached out to close the door.

Tong Tiemei reached out to block her view, "Do you recognize who he is?"

"I don't know her. You can leave." Ye Yunniang slammed the door shut, but Tong Tiemei's strength was far beyond hers.

"Mother, are they from the Jin family?" Li An reacted quickly. The only people who could frighten his mother and make her unwilling to see him were the Jiang family and the Jin family.

Ang Lee has met all the members of the Jiang family.

“You’re just as smart as your mother.” The man looked at Li An, his eyes filled with nostalgia.

"Don't mention her." Li An reacted strongly; he still remembered Jin Huifang's disgust and beatings towards him.

"An'an, don't think about it. Come inside with me." Ye Yunniang put her arm around Li An and walked into the house.

As for the three people at the door, they were ignored.

"Jin Lanxuan, you've finally met your match," Zhou Bowen mocked.

Jin Lanxuan didn't speak, she just looked at Li An.

Tong Tiemei elbowed Zhou Bowen, reminding him not to rub salt into someone's wounds.

Zhou Bowen rubbed his arm, his eyes pleading for mercy so he wouldn't say anything more.

The three of them looked around the small courtyard, which was very clean.

Tong Tiemei's gaze fell on the darkened door of the side room. Before they came, they already knew that Ye Yunniang and her three children had been robbed the night before.

"As you all saw, Jun'er is with her. Not to mention the hardships and suffering, his safety is not guaranteed." When they came, Jin Lanxuan made it clear that he wanted to take Li An away.

Tong Tiemei told Jin Lanxuan to first obtain the consent of the child and his adoptive mother before discussing taking Li An away.

“It’s good that Lanxuan is taking care of the child,” Zhou Bowen advised Tong Tiemei.

“Raising a child isn’t just about saying ‘raise’. You, Jin Lanxuan, can say you’re good to him. But can your wife and your child be good to him as well?”

"Yes," Jin Lanxuan replied confidently.

"It's easy to say now. But when the time comes, it won't be like that." Tong Tiemei didn't believe it.

"Sister Mei, I believe Lanxuan wouldn't do that." Zhou Bowen still had faith in his friend's character.

"Mind your own business. Before we got married, you said you would treat Mo'er like your own son. Did you really do that?" Zhou Bowen lowered his head in response to Tong Tiemei's words.

Zhou Bowen treats his stepson and his biological son differently.

When his own son does something wrong, Zhou Bowen can hit him or scold him as he pleases. He also wants to give his son everything.

But Zhou Bowen went along with Tong Mo. As long as it wasn't an unforgivable crime like murder or arson, Zhou Bowen let him have his way.

Zhou Bowen was the one who wanted Tong Mo to marry Ye Yunniang; Tong Mo really is like his father. Then he worried that Tong Tiemei would be angry, and that was it.

It was only after seeing Zhou Bowen's attitude that Tong Tiemei agreed to let Tong Mo go with Bao Min.

As the younger uncle, Bao Min disciplined Tong Mo more and better than Bao Shao and Zhou Bowen.

Zhou Bowen, having lost his argument, said no more.

Jin Lanxuan wanted to say something more, but Ye Yunniang opened the door to the main room.

"Gentlemen, please come inside and talk."

After entering the main room and sitting down, Ye Yunniang poured water for the three of them.

"There's no tea at home, only boiled water."

"Plain water is fine." Tong Tiemei didn't like drinking bitter tea soup.

"Are you all Huifang's family members?"

“We are Tong Mo’s parents,” Tong Tiemei introduced herself and Zhou Bowen.

"I am Fang'er's third brother and Jun'er's third maternal uncle," Jin Lanxuan introduced himself.

Ye Yunniang nodded and then began to recount the last time she met Jin Huifang.

“She handed the child to me. At first I hesitated. But when I heard him call me ‘Mom,’ my heart softened.”
