12 · Chapter 12

Robin's movements were fast and fierce, and the silver blade light quickly approached Messiah.

Messiah slightly turned his head to avoid Robin's long sword, and a strand of hair fell by his ear. The silver blade brushed his cheek, almost cutting off Messiah's ear.

But Messiah tilted his head slightly, causing Robin's sword to miss.

A strand of pure white hair fell to the ground. Robin clenched the long knife in his hand, his tone full of displeasure: "Why don't you do it? Are you looking down on me?"

In Robin's view, Messiah's behavior of standing still and not fighting back was undoubtedly a contempt for him.

"No." Messiah looked at Robin strangely, not understanding why he would think so. "You are not a criminal."

Messiah tried to explain his logic to Robin. Superman's order to him was to clear out the prisoners in Arkham. He only needed to kill the prisoners and there was no need to fight with Robin.

Although Robin and Batman are together, Superman said that Batman is the enemy, but the people Superman asked him to kill were Arkham prisoners, not enemies.

Robin looked even angrier.

Damian Wayne aka Robin looked at Messiah coldly. The domino mask covered the expression on the upper half of his face, and only his cold and sharp green eyes could be seen.

He suspected that the Messiah saw what he was thinking and was therefore teasing him.

Damian had seen Messiah's information in the Batcomputer and knew that Messiah was on Superman's side. Combined with Batman's instructions, Messiah's purpose was obvious.

- Cleanse Arkham and kill all the criminals in Arkham.

Damian fully supported this idea, so he just planned to stop Messiah for the sake of appearance and then let him go.

But now, Damian's intention to let the game go has completely disappeared.

"Do it." Damian grabbed the kari stick with his backhand, pointed the long knife at Messiah's throat, and said coldly, "Either do it or get out."

Robin was small in stature but had a big temper.

Messiah sighed helplessly and looked at Damian as if he was looking at an ignorant child.

Judging from the height, it is true.

But in terms of age, Messiah's physical age is only three years older than Damian's.

Damian no longer looked at Messiah's expression and rushed forward with murderous intent.

His movements were swift and fierce, the sharp blade pointed directly at Messiah's throat, and every blow carried deadly murderous intent.

Messiah was still dodging, nimbly dodging Damian's attacks and watching Damian's every move without blinking.

Damian's figure was reflected in those bright golden eyes.

Damian's expression grew even darker, and his attack was filled with genuine murderous intent.

Until his Robin Dart missed again, Messiah, who had been dodging, suddenly moved.

Messiah easily clamped Damian's wrist with one hand, and used his palm like a knife to hit the acupoint on Damian's wrist muscle, while his other hand caught the falling long knife.

Damian's hand went numb and he involuntarily loosened his grip on the knife handle, watching his knife fall into Messiah's hands.

Messiah curiously made a sword flower with the knife, and Damian saw a familiar trace in Messiah's knife-holding movement.

That was a move from the League of Assassins, a move he often used.

Damian narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression cold.

He realized one thing—the Messiah hadn't just been dodging, but learning his moves.

Damian pulled out another kari stick hanging behind his back, used it to hold the long knife against the opponent's and quickly engaged in a fight with Messiah.

The kari stick and the swung long sword made a sound of metal clashing in mid-air. Messiah's movements were a little unfamiliar at first, but later he became more and more skilled. The long sword from Damian was in his hand like an arm.

Looks like, very similar.

Damian dodged the silver blade expressionlessly. If he hadn't looked at the person opposite him, he would have thought he was fighting another self.

There was another bang, and Damian retracted the kari stick that was against the long knife. The hand holding the kari stick trembled slightly. The huge force from Messiah almost made him lose strength.

Messiah is constantly learning and improving.

Damian calmly steadied his shaking hands. He noticed that Messiah had been adjusting his movements. At first, his sword-swinging fighting style imitated him, but in the end, it became the posture that best suited Messiah himself, and later, his movements became more and more concise.

By now, Messiah had mastered a new sword technique.

Although it still has the style of the Assassin's League, it is indeed a new sword technique.

As Messiah's swordsmanship improved, it became increasingly difficult to resist Messiah's attacks. At first, he could suppress Messiah, but later Messiah took the upper hand.

The next second, Damian felt a chill in his throat, and the long knife that belonged to him was against his throat.

Messiah's tone was steady: "Is it okay?"

"I'm going to fight." Messiah looked at Robin, whose pressure was getting lower and lower. He thought Robin hadn't fought enough, so he said in annoyance, "It's time to end it. You can't beat me."

Damian stared into Messiah's eyes. Those golden eyes looked at him calmly without any emotion, as if defeating him was not something he needed to care about.

"You win." Damian gripped the Khari stick tightly and then loosened it, his eyes filled with resentment, but he still stepped aside to make way for Messiah. "Arkham is yours."

"Um."

Messiah nodded and returned the long sword to Robin.

Damian gripped the long sword he had lost again and looked at Messiah with complicated eyes. "Don't you want it? It's now... your trophy."

"No need." Messiah gave Robin a strange look, "It's not."

Although he didn't understand why Robin insisted on fighting and asked for the "trophies" after the battle, Messiah still chose to respect it.

Maybe this is the custom of human beings.

Messiah pointed to the "Wards" deep within Arkham and said, in a way he thought Robin would understand, "This is the spoils."

Then, Messiah walked past the Arkham guards who were looking at each other in confusion and walked into the "ward" deep in Arkham.

It is called the "ward", but it is actually a prison.

In a cell deep in Arkham, a group of super villains were chatting boredly across the cells.

Although thanks to the efforts of Batman and the Gotham Police Department GCPD, Arkham's cells have been set up in different modes according to the characteristics of each super villain, and are all soundproofed, the talents of Arkham have their own countermeasures.

Prison breaking might be a little difficult, but as for chatting, it is not a difficult task now that Batman's energy is mostly focused on Superman.

"Did you hear that? Superman has gone crazy."

The Scarecrow's voice was filled with joy: "My fear gas is indeed the most wonderful thing in the world. Even Superman can't resist it."

"Just be thankful that Batman stopped Superman." Professor Pig-faced grinned maliciously. He and Scarecrow were rivals in the same field, and they had a feud in the past, so naturally they didn't like each other. "Otherwise, you would have become the next Joker and Harley Quinn."

Killer Croc laughed maliciously: "Heartbreak? Hahahahahaha."

Two-Faced Man tossed the coin in his hand boredly, his tone full of indifference: "Whatever happens, as long as it's not..."

However, before he could finish his words, he suddenly stopped.

The entire Arkham "Ward" suddenly became quiet, and the super villains in the cells all looked up in the same direction.

There was a sound of footsteps in the corridor, getting closer and closer.

"Not the little bat."

The Riddler spoke up, "Not Robin and Nightwing either."

After being attacked from behind so many times, Gotham's super villains have long been familiar with the differences in the footsteps of different members of the Bat-Family.

——Of course, this still doesn't help them avoid being beaten by bats, because most of the time bats walk silently.

"Who is it?" Bane looked at the venom device he had secretly brought in. "A new bird? Or a new guard?"

"No matter who it is, I will tear him apart."

Killer Croc licked his lips and said, "Batman is not here today, so it's a good day to eat some meat. I haven't tasted flesh and blood for a long time."

"Aren't you afraid?" The Mad Hatter couldn't help trembling. "What if Superman comes?"

"Not Superman."

A strange voice suddenly interrupted their conversation. The voice was clear and smooth, with a distinct boyish tone.

A white-blonde boy appeared in the middle of the ward at some point. His face still had a hint of baby fat, and he was blinking at them. "It's me."

Even the most timid ventriloquist stopped trembling when he saw the face of the person who came.

"Are you Batman's new bird?" Scarecrow narrowed his eyes. "White hair? When did Bats change their taste?"

There were many highly intelligent criminals present, and they all knew that Messiah must have some support to dare to enter here alone, but their arrogance prevented them from being wary of Messiah.

At most, he was just another super-powered teenager, and they had killed many people like him.

“No… No…”

The Penguin looked at Messiah's unreservedly exposed face and couldn't help but take a step back, muttering in a low voice: "It's Superman's man!"

"He was the one who killed Harley Quinn!"

The tension in Arkham Ward suddenly broke, and the super villains took out their weapons from every corner of the ward. Those who did not take out weapons began to try to intimidate Messiah with words.

"He'll be another scar on my body."

"How about using the heart-wrenching method as well?"

"Hehehe, I wonder if Superman will go crazy when he finds out."

"I want to try his meat. It looks so tender and skinny. It should taste good."

"I like his face... leave the skin to me."

"This is a waste. Why do we have to kill him? Wouldn't it be better to keep him and brainwash him, and turn him into my new puppet? I can also use him to disgust Batman and Superman."

Messiah quietly looked at these super villains who made no secret of their malice towards him, and was not affected by their words at all.

"I'm Messiah." Messiah politely introduced his purpose. "Our goal is to clear Arkham."

"Please die."

【Author’s words】

Originally, according to the setting of the first episode, Damian should also be called Robin, but Robin has too many roles, and it still felt a bit weird when writing, so I changed it to Damian [calico cat head]

Ah Bat, do you have anything to say about this?

(The fact that everyone is described by code names is a setting for the first week. This is another of my little ideas in strange places [sunglasses])
