23 Chapter 23

23 Chapter 23

The apathy surrounding Messiah was instantly shattered. He tilted his head towards Jason, and the huge scarf tilted with it.

The small body with the big scarf on top looks very cute. No one who sees Messiah's current appearance can imagine that he has just killed a group of people in an extremely bloody way.

Messiah shook his head and said seriously, "I am bringing them relief."

His attitude was very matter-of-fact. Messiah, who didn't think there was anything wrong with killing, naturally wouldn't have any emotional fluctuations just because Jason saw him killing someone.

Moreover, the Messiah believed that he was now doing the right thing and bringing relief to these people.

Jason looked at his brother who was standing there obediently. Although he didn't understand why the Messiah had the ability to crush people, he also didn't understand why his brother, who had just woken up a few hours ago, wanted to say "liberation" to these gangsters.

But he knew one thing, the Messiah protected him, protected both of them.

That's enough!

But Jason was still a little dazed. His autistic brother suddenly became a possessor of special abilities and tore a bunch of people apart cleverly. The contrast was too great.

Messiah didn't know what Jason was thinking. He looked at Jason standing there quietly without saying a word, and couldn't help but pursed his lips.

Although Messiah did not think there was any difference between killing and not killing, the logic he deduced in his mind was almost convincing him.

Batman is from Gotham, and so is Jason. Maybe the people of Gotham really hate killing people, just like the people of Metropolis are so friendly.

The Messiah hung his head gloomily, and just when he had thought of saying goodbye and leaving before Jason could scold him like Batman scolded Superman, and then start bringing relief to the world, Jason finally took action.

Jason rushed forward and hugged Messiah: "Well done, Messiah, you protected us!"

He suppressed the urge to pick up Messiah and spin him around; after all, now was not the time to discuss this. He had to get rid of the remains before anyone else could enter the alley and discover the dead gangsters.

Messiah blinked his eyes. He didn't expect that Jason not only didn't scold him, but praised him instead.

So, is Jason the same as Superman from the previous world?

But when Messiah looked at Jason's sparkling eyes, he always felt that something seemed different.

Jason looked at Messiah's dazed look and thought that Messiah was frightened after realizing that he had killed someone.

Only then did he realize that unlike himself, who had been wandering Crime Alley for months and had been involved in Crime Alley since childhood, Messiah had never seen a dead body, let alone a body torn into pieces like this.

Even Jason himself felt a little uncomfortable the moment he saw those fragments.

"It's okay, it's okay." Jason patted Messiah's back again and again, trying to comfort him clumsily with words, "You protected me, Messiah."

"Don't be afraid. Brother won't let anyone else find you. I will always protect you and will never abandon you."

Jason made a promise that could be called an oath. He let go of Messiah, found a suitable corner for Messiah to hide, and held Messiah's shoulders to make him stay in the corner obediently.

"Wait for me here, Messiah."

Jason rolled up his sleeves and walked to the scattered blood and flesh, ready to clean up the scene.

We must not let anyone else find this place.

If Batman and Robin found out, they would definitely take Messiah away! If the gangsters found out, Messiah would be in even greater danger.

Messiah looked at Jason's small back quietly. This was the second time someone promised to protect him forever.

He pinched a corner of the scarf, listened to Jason's heartbeat getting faster and faster, and walked out of the corner.

"Should we clean them out?"

Jason was mentally preparing himself - he couldn't find the right tools at the moment, so he could only clean up the debris with his bare hands, which was a bit too disgusting even for him.

Hearing Messiah's question, he gave Messiah a reassuring smile: "Yes, if others find out, we might be in danger, but don't be afraid, brother will take care of it."

"Be good, wait for your brother over there, it will be done soon."

In order to appease Messiah, who he saw as frightened, Jason began to describe the future to Messiah.

"Once we've dealt with this, we'll leave here and continue looking for food, and then we'll go home. Oh, and I can teach you how to read. I have a copy of Pride and Prejudice at home that I found in the trash."

As he spoke, Jason couldn't help but smile hopefully. He began to imagine the future as he spoke. Things that were once difficult when done alone, now seemed no longer difficult when done with someone else.

Messiah listened to Jason's words, and a trace of emotion appeared in his eyes.

He exhaled lightly and stretched out his hand towards the pile of flesh and blood.

This is a white and tender little hand that obviously belongs to a child, but it contains great power.

Warm and holy golden light poured out, and the bloody alley was instantly covered with a layer of golden light. The remaining uneasiness in Jason's heart was dispelled by the golden light. He stretched out his hand curiously wanting to touch the golden light, but the golden light instantly shrank and abruptly avoided his hand.

Messiah used his abilities to avoid Jason and whispered, "Danger, don't touch."

It was a destructive force, and he was afraid it would hurt Jason.

"Dangerous?"

Jason looked at the golden light. Just by being close to it he could feel warmth, and it could also dispel negative emotions. Why did the Messiah say it was dangerous?

——As perceptive as Jason was, he naturally realized that it was Messiah’s special ability that dispelled his negative emotions, which was why he was so calm.

Even though the Messiah had used this power to kill someone in front of him, Jason still felt that this power was gentle and even sacred.

The golden light went out, and the flesh and blood scattered in the alley turned to ashes. Aside from the scattered clothes on the ground, there was no trace of the gangsters' existence.

"alright."

Messiah looked at Jason, with an emotion in his eyes that even he himself was not aware of, as if he was expecting something.

This young body unknowingly influenced Messiah too much, but Messiah himself was completely unaware.

Perhaps, this is not the influence of this body, and the Messiah has simply returned to the state he should have been in.

Jason reached out a hand to ruffle Messiah's hair, but it only stopped awkwardly at the scarf ball.

Did I wrap it so well? Jason looked at the huge scarf ball that had been firmly fixed on Messiah's head all the way and scratched his head in confusion.

Messiah, who has been using his abilities to maintain the scarf group, has kept his merits and fame hidden.

Jason was very hesitant. He knew that he should praise Messiah now, but he was afraid that his praise would cause some misunderstanding to Messiah.

He was afraid of both striking the Messiah and misleading the Messiah.

Messiah had just regained consciousness, and in Catherine's words, he was still a baby.

Those gangs had victimized many children in Crime Alley before, and they deserved no regrets.

Jason felt they deserved to die. If he had the power, he would have done the same, but to his well-behaved younger brother...

Jason's strong desire to protect others made him subconsciously reject this matter.

"You did... well, Messiah," Jason racked his brains. "You successfully protected us."

Raising a baby is so hard. Jason thought bitterly that if he had the chance, he would definitely go through the trash cans outside the monastery and bookstore, trying to find a parenting book or two!

"But in Crime Alley, using your powers openly can be dangerous." Jason gestured with a bat symbol. "A pitch-black bat monster will descend from the sky and snatch away all the disobedient, ugh, special children."

"And the gangs! They're especially bad, they kidnap children..." Jason thought for a moment, and in order not to pollute Messiah's pure heart, he tried to describe it in a more euphemistic way. "They kidnap children and make them work for free, 24 hours a day, and they don't even give them food!"

Messiah stood there quietly, listening obediently as Jason made up horror stories to scare the children.

Of course he knew it was fake, Messiah thought, but Jason was only eight years old, and he had been sixteen before, so he was the older brother, and it was normal for him to be tolerant of Jason.

"...So, unless you encounter special circumstances, you can no longer use your abilities." Jason concluded, "If you encounter danger in the future, leave it to me. It's only natural for an older brother to protect his younger brother."

Messiah thought about it and nodded obediently.

Okay, I will protect my brother too.

Jason looked at the obedient Messiah. He didn't know that he had become a younger brother in Messiah's heart, and he nodded with relief.

"We don't have to look for food today."

Jason quickly walked towards the piles of clothes on the ground, rummaged through the clothes without any disgust, found his cell phone and wallet, and picked up a gun.

The gun felt heavy in his hand, but Jason became more determined. He had promised to protect Messiah, and this was his responsibility as a brother.

Messiah ran forward with his short legs and together with Jason, he hugged his wallet, cell phone, and a few valuables.

The wallets piled up high in Messiah's arms, almost burying the little Messiah. Fortunately, Messiah already had a huge scarf on his head, so he didn't need the pile of wallets to serve as a burden.

Jason found a few more clothes from the pile and folded them into a ball of cloth. He threw the valuables in his and Messiah's arms into the ball of cloth and stuffed a few pieces of garbage in it as a cover.

After throwing all the remaining clothes into the trash can to destroy them, Jason clapped his hands in satisfaction as he looked at the gray ball of cloth.

I said, I really have a talent for making things.

"Let's go, Messiah." Jason shook a few banknotes he had pulled out. "No need to look for food today. I'll take you shopping."

Messiah nodded. He looked at the ball of cloth that Jason had messed up, and secretly used a little strength to stabilize the ball of cloth like he was holding a scarf on his head.

The shaky cloth was protected, and Messiah also silently protected Jason's "self-confidence".

Jason held the cloth ball in his left hand and held Messiah's hand with his right hand, and left the alley with a proud and confident look.

Two figures, one big and one small, left. Their shadows stretched longer and longer on the ground and finally merged together.

Not long after they left, Batman, who followed the clues of the missing children case, fell from the sky and found the place.

Batman landed silently on the ground, looked at the thin layer of dust on the ground and the two pairs of children's footprints left on the dust, and frowned slightly.

The goggles blocked Batman's emotions, and one could only see that the air pressure around him had obviously dropped a few degrees.

A few alleys away, Messiah heard a familiar heartbeat and looked back thoughtfully.
