57 · Chapter 57

"You and Jay are going to go solo?"

On the phone, Dick laughed gleefully, "Did B find out?"

Messiah shook his head and lowered his voice like a guilty thief: "Father doesn't know yet. Jason and I are still planning. Jason is researching ways to skip a grade and go to college."

"Hahahaha." Dick's low laugh echoed through the microphone. "Then I wish you all success in your solo venture. I'll come back from Bludhaven to celebrate for you."

"I'm going to an alien planet with the Teen Titans and will be out of contact for a while. I hope to hear good news from you when I return."

Dick half leaned against the wall of the spaceship, a gentle smile on his face: "I will bring gifts for you and Jay."

Messiah nodded vigorously: "Once Jason and I have a plan, I will definitely tell you!"

"See you later?"

"See you later!"

Dick smiled as if he had clairvoyance that could see into the Messiah's bedroom, "See you later, Jay?"

Jason, who was sitting there pretending to be nonchalant and flipping through a book, actually had the book held upside down, put it down, leaned over to his phone and said awkwardly, "See you later, Dickhead."

Dick hung up the phone with a smile. He looked back and saw the Titans hiding not far behind him and eavesdropping furtively.

"Come out." Dick said helplessly, "I see you."

The Titans pushed each other and finally came out.

Kid Flash was the first to ask curiously, "Dick, are these your two younger brothers?"

"right."

Kid Flash had never seen Nightwing smile so gently. Most of the time, Nightwing was either cheerful and enthusiastic or serious and calm. He rarely showed such gentle emotions.

"You should have heard of Robin and Messiah." Dick smiled. "I'll introduce them to you when we return to Earth."

"The Teen Titans are getting new members?" Beast Boy cheered. "Yeah!"

Dick hummed, then smiled proudly as he thought of his two younger brothers.

After Messiah hung up the phone, he and Jason threw themselves on the bed.

After they both grew up, they rarely slept together anymore, and today was a special case.

"Messiah, I've found some good news." Jason buried his head in the pillow and whispered, "Do you know... Katherine is not actually my biological mother. I am the child of Willis and another woman."

Jason had actually been hesitant about whether to tell Messiah about this, but seeing Messiah's well-behaved and gentle attitude towards Dick, he made up his mind.

Even if they are not brothers from the same father and mother, they are still brothers.

Messiah blinked. “Huh?”

As Jason thought, Messiah did not show any special attitude towards Jason's words.

Messiah actually doesn't have much impression of Willis and Katherine. His concept of parents all comes from Bruce. To him, Bruce is more like his father than Willis, the biological father of this body.

"Is she still alive?" Messiah hugged the Batman doll in his arms. This doll had been with him from the age of seven to twelve. "You want to go find her?"

With his understanding of Jason, Messiah was keenly aware of Jason's thoughts.

Jason hesitated, then nodded. "I...I want to know what my mother looks like."

"I looked it up. Her name is Sheila Haywood. She's a pro bono doctor in an Ethiopian refugee camp."

Jason's eyes lit up surprisingly: "She is a public welfare doctor who has helped many people!"

Messiah looked at Jason's face and realized the true identity of his biological mother, which surprised Jason. A kind-hearted and charitable doctor is indeed the mother that Jason longs for.

"You're going to Ethiopia to find her?" Messiah thought about his recent plans. "Are you going alone? Or should I come with you?"

He also needs to go to an alien planet recently. A planet he once helped has sent a distress signal again, but he can go there and come back quickly, so he still has time to accompany Jason to Ethiopia.

"I can go by myself. You don't need to accompany me." Jason smiled. "I'm not a child. I need someone to accompany me to do anything."

Messiah blinked and said straight away, "But I care about you."

Even though Jason had experienced this so many times, he still couldn't stand Messiah's straightforward emotional expression, and his ears instantly became hot.

"Okay, okay." Jason said awkwardly. Anyone who saw him now would not believe that he was the Robin who had become increasingly irritable and would break people's bones at any time. "I know you care about me... When I see her, I will tell you the good news."

Messiah smiled with satisfaction. He let go of the Batman doll, lay on the pillow with Jason, and began to imagine the future with Jason.

"Based on the city you mentioned, I've picked out a few universities." Jason quickly listed a few. "Their liberal arts and law schools are both highly ranked."

"I'm fine with either, just take your pick." Messiah said casually. He didn't have any requirements for college, and law school probably wouldn't be able to answer his questions.

"You can call me anything you want." Jason ruffled Messiah's hair and said in frustration, "Think about it carefully!"

Messiah didn't listen to Jason. He turned over and lay flat on the bed, pretending not to hear Jason's "complaint" with a smile.

There were starry sky stickers on the ceiling of the bedroom. Messiah looked at the starry sky stickers, recalled some memories, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously rose.

This was a surprise given to him by Jason, Bruce and Dick. He still remembered the warm memory of opening the bedroom during his night patrol and seeing Batman, Robin and Blue Jay jumping out to say "Happy Birthday".

Although he and Jason are leaving here, this will always be their home.

Messiah tilted his head and looked at the tiny bugs on the two battle suits hanging in the corner of the room. Bruce must have thought the same thing.

Bruce sat in front of the Batcomputer, listening to the children's conversation in silence.

"Master Bruce, silence won't solve any problems for you." Alfred put down a glass of milk heavily in front of Bruce. "Perhaps Master Messiah will understand you, but Master Jason obviously needs his father, not Batman."

Bruce rubbed his brow, a frown left a mark on his forehead. "I'm just... worried about him."

"The Joker is a criminal who cannot be judged by common sense. Contact with the Joker will make him target Jason, and he will be in danger."

Alfred raised his eyebrows. "But perhaps you shouldn't say these words to me. There's someone else who listens to you."

Bruce sighed, and at Alfred's urging, he reluctantly left the Batcave and walked hesitantly towards Messiah's bedroom.

The two little birds were lying on the bed chirping and fantasizing about the future. Jason came up with several code names for his future solo career, such as "Red Hood" and "Red Robin", but they were all rejected by Messiah.

The noise in the bedroom stopped abruptly until there was a knock on the door.

"Can I come in, Messiah, Jason?"

Messiah subconsciously wanted to agree, but thinking of Jason who had been arguing with Bruce recently, he subconsciously turned his head and asked Jason's opinion.

Jason closed his eyes, pretending he was asleep, but he didn't refuse Messiah's offer.

Messiah raised his voice and said, "Yes."

Bruce pushed the door open and walked in. He looked at Messiah, who was curled up in the quilt and smiling softly at him, and Jason, who closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep, but his fluttering eyelashes gave him away. His brow, which had been furrowed for years, unconsciously relaxed.

He hesitated for a moment, looked at Jason pretending to sleep, and said nothing more.

"Need a bedtime story?" Bruce simply said.

Messiah's eyes lit up. He ignored Jason's fingers poking at him under the covers and said happily, "Yes!"

It has been a long time since his father told him a bedtime story, although he didn't need a bedtime story.

Bruce coughed twice, then casually pulled out a book from the bookshelf next to him. Surprisingly, he pulled out the familiar "The Little Prince".

"What will happen to the little prince's planet? Perhaps the sheep will have eaten the flower..."

Bruce's low and gentle voice sounded: "People are bound to be distracted. Once is enough! One night he forgot to cover the roses with a glass cover, and the sheep sneaked out in the middle of the night..."①

“Whether or not a sheep eats a rose will affect how you and I, who both love the Little Prince, view the universe…”①

The story of The Little Prince has come to an end.

Messiah held Jason's hand in Bruce's gentle voice, and the two of them fell asleep together.

Bruce looked at his children's sleeping faces, and at this moment he could easily say the words that he couldn't say when they were awake: "You are my children, I love you, so I hope you can have a bright future."

"But no matter what you become or what future you choose, I will always love you."

He gently closed the book and walked over to kiss their foreheads.

"Goodnight, Messiah."

"Goodnight, Jason."

Bruce came out, lowered his head and clicked a few times on his phone, and bought a plane ticket to Ethiopia for Jason.

As Batman, it's his responsibility to be Robin, but as a father, he supports Jason's every thought.

After waking up, Jason looked at the text messages on his phone and fell into a brief silence.

Bruce...bought a plane ticket for him.

Jason looked back at Bruce's bedroom. Bruce was still sleeping after a night patrol. He... had something to say to Bruce.

"Forget it, let's talk about it after I get back." Jason sighed, but couldn't help but smile. Bruce's unexpected support made his tense heart relax. "Thank you, B..."

Messiah supported his chin and watched Jason quickly pack his luggage and was about to go out with his suitcase.

He heard Jason complaining quietly about Bruce buying the plane ticket so early, but even though he was complaining, there was an unignorable smile on his face.

Messiah couldn't help but ask again, "You really don't need me to come with you?"

Jason shook his head. "It's okay. I can do it on my own."

He stepped forward and gave Messiah a quick hug. Before Messiah could feel Jason's warmth, Jason had already pulled away and walked out with his suitcase.

"Goodbye, Messiah!" Jason shouted. "Wait for good news from me!"

Messiah leaned against the door and waved, whispering to Jason's back:

"Goodbye, Jason."
