Chapter 112 A Big Shot

The day after the surgery.

It was already late when Tang Yue awoke.

After the anesthesia wore off, waves of pain shot through his chest, constantly reminding him of what had happened in the past.

He licked his dry lips.

The room was quiet; if you listened carefully, you could faintly hear the sound of pages turning.

Tang Yue turned his head and looked in the direction of the sound.

A dim, yellowish light spilled across the right corner, the light not bright, but exuding a warm glow. Especially when it fell on that delicate profile, it cast a soft veil over it.

The girl sat languidly in a single sofa, one hand supporting her chin as she looked down at a book, her long eyelashes casting a shadow on her eyelids.

Quiet, yet within easy reach.

Such a heartwarming scene made his blood boil, a warmth that burned in his heart. Tang Yue couldn't help but slightly raise the corners of his lips, his eyes suddenly brightening as he called out her name: "Wanwan?"

Yu Wan looked up, a hint of surprise on her face, which vanished in an instant. She glanced at him expressionlessly, then closed her book, slipped on her slippers, and walked towards the door.

"Wanwan, don't go." Tang Yue was startled, his voice trembling with urgency. Seeing her turn the lock, he anxiously straightened up, aggravating the injury on his chest, causing him to wince in pain, and then fell back down.

Yu Wan turned back with a cold face, frowned, and pressed the call button on the bedside table.

Meanwhile, someone seized the opportunity to grab his left hand, which was hanging by his side.

"Are you angry?" Tang Yue sighed almost imperceptibly. "I'm sorry for making you worry."

His voice was hoarse and low, with a slight nasal tone, as if he had just woken up.

Yu Wan's expression was indifferent. She slightly raised her chin and sneered, "Worried? Do you think that's possible? Stop being so presumptuous. I'm staying here just to see when you die."

Tang Yue gripped her hand tighter and tighter, smiling as he echoed, "I'm sorry, I've disappointed you now, it's all my fault."

"..." Yu Wan felt a dull pain between her eyebrows, and a feeling of unease was stuck in her chest, causing a surge of restlessness to rise in her heart, all of which spread to the corners of her eyebrows.

"You think I need you to save me?" She tilted her head slightly, her eyes narrowed, revealing a hint of crimson. "Or do you think you're some kind of superhero, sacrificing yourself to save all of humanity? If you're so capable, why don't you just fly to the moon?" And do you even know how terrified I was?!

...I'm afraid you'll never wake up.

Her fingertips trembled uncontrollably. Yu Wan took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. To avoid losing control further, she tried to pull her hand away, but couldn't. She lowered her voice and said, "Let go."

Tang Yue knew things were going badly. He wasn't about to let her go, so he lowered his eyelids and pretended to groan.

Looking at his pale face, all the chaotic emotions in Yu Wan's heart were extinguished: "Don't move, I'll go call the doctor."

"Don't go." Tang Yue held her hand tightly and refused to let go, showing a resolute attitude that if she dared to leave, he would follow her.

"..."

Yu Wan knew that this man had started to change his personality after going bankrupt, but could anyone tell her why he was becoming more and more of a scoundrel?

Noble and elegant.

High and mighty.

Where did they all go?

She paused for a moment, but her toes remained rooted to the spot.

A smile flickered in Tang Yue's eyes.

Tsk.

It's both awkward and adorable.

A plan came to mind.

"Lower your head, I have something to tell you in private." His expression suddenly turned serious.

Yu Wan couldn't help but think of that organization, and leaned down.

The neck was encircled and pulled down.

She was startled and braced herself against the headboard.

The deep eyes before me shimmered with tiny, sparkling lights, as bright as stars.

"Wanwan, I regretted it back then," Tang Yue said. "I was so afraid that if I died, you might fall for another man in a few years and I would be gone from your life forever. You are so outstanding, I have to live well and keep a close eye on you."

He spoke with slight breathlessness, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

Yu Wan's heart was gently touched, her tense body relaxed, and she frowned, muttering, "Sycophant..."

That handsome face suddenly loomed large in front of me.

then.

The rest of the words were swallowed up by their lips and teeth.

Yu Wan took a big bite.

-

After examining the wound, Zhang Guofeng said that the recovery was good, except for slight bleeding.

After re-bandaging, he stared at Tang Yue's bitten lip for a long time, and said in a low voice, "Young man, if you're too hot-tempered, drink a pot of chrysanthemum tea to clear heat and relieve fire. Do whatever you need to do after you've recovered."

This was naturally said to Yu Wan.

"..."

Yu Wan held her breath.

She was terribly wronged!

She's clearly the victim!

"We understand, thank you, doctor." Tang Yue looked up and smiled, his voice gentle and clear.

Zhang Guofeng gave Yu Wan a knowing smile; it was no wonder she couldn't resist having such a handsome boyfriend.

Yu Wan stared wide-eyed. "Hey, hey, hey, old man, what nonsense are you thinking?"

Soon, only two people remained in the ward.

Yu Wan glanced sideways at the culprit.

The latter smiled even more gently.

"Knock knock knock"

There was a sudden knock on the door.

Yu Wan glanced sideways.

Standing outside the door was a middle-aged man in a suit and tie, around forty years old, with a square face, a serious expression, sharp and deep eyes, and an aura of authority emanating from him.

Behind him, four burly bodyguards stood guard at both ends of the corridor, their posture upright, their eyes sharp, their ears wearing professional walkie-talkies, and their waists slightly bulging... clearly not ordinary security personnel.

Yu Wan frowned slightly as her gaze returned to the middle-aged man. She felt that his face looked very familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before.

Tang Yue coughed lightly, his fist pressed against his lips, "Wanwan, you've been watching over me for so long, go back and rest." That organization was too dangerous, and he didn't want to involve Yu Wan, so the less she knew, the better.

Yu Wan lowered her eyes and responded softly, "Okay."

Seeing this, Yan Lin finally began to scrutinize Yu Wan. The young girl had one hand in her pocket, and as she brushed past him, she didn't even glance at him, her expression chillingly aloof. He raised an eyebrow in surprise; someone didn't recognize him?

"Uncle Yan, Wanwan is just like that, she didn't mean to offend you," Tang Yue explained, his tone full of protectiveness.

Yan Lin laughed and scolded, "You little rascal, I haven't even done anything yet, why are you so worried?"

He walked into the ward, pulled out a stool in front of the bed and sat down, frowning: "You were too impulsive, acting on your own. What if something happens?" He arrived in Jiangcheng the day after receiving the news, and after finishing his work, he rushed to the hospital.

Tang Yue's eyes darkened: "I've waited fifteen years for them to finally appear, and I don't want to miss any clues." He pursed his lips and asked, "Did you bring your computer? My phone was taken, but the recordings were uploaded to the cloud."

Yan Lin's face lit up with joy: "Please wait a moment."

He beckoned one of his bodyguards in and ordered him to fetch a computer.
