Chapter Fifty-Seven: You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen

When Tang Yue and Yu Jianguo returned to the ward, Yu Wan had already completed the discharge procedures. She looked Tang Yue up and down and smiled casually: "Old man, your beating skills are not good. There's not even a scratch."

"...What nonsense are you talking about? I'm a law-abiding citizen." Yu Jianguo absolutely couldn't let his daughter look down on him, so he argued logically: "If I really wanted to fight, he would have been in the ICU by now, wouldn't he?"

He turned his head and glared at Tang Yue.

Tang Yue hummed in agreement and immediately replied, "Uncle is very capable."

Upon hearing this, Yu Jianguo raised his chin even higher.

Yu Wan raised her eyebrows in surprise.

It's incredible that bankruptcy can turn an upright and proud person into someone who can spout nonsense with a book to prove it!

But what's even more surprising is yet to come...

"Old man, say that again?" Yu Wan's brows furrowed tightly, realizing for the first time what it meant for a father to betray his daughter: "You want him to move into our house, why?"

Although Tang Yue is currently living in the apartment building at Jiangda University, it's only a temporary stay; he'll have to move out sooner or later, and most importantly, no one knows. But if he officially moves into the Yu family villa, wouldn't that be tantamount to announcing to the world that Tang Yue is the Yu family's son-in-law?

Son-in-law... my foot!

Has the old man taken the wrong medicine? Or did Tang Yue give him some kind of hallucinogenic potion? Just over half a month ago, he was crying and begging her to swear he would never associate with Tang Yue again, but now he's inviting a wolf into the house!

Men can change their expressions faster than women!

Seeing his daughter's strong reaction, Yu Jianguo's slight displeasure vanished completely. He explained, "It's not moving to the main house. Your father has a villa in the east of the city, close to Jiangda. I just told my secretary to clean it, and the three of you can move in right away."

Since Yu Wan can only turn her danger around by being with Tang Yue, then let them be together all the time. If it weren't for the times being different, he might have even considered a marriage of convenience to bring good luck!

"Three... Uncle Yu, why are you looking at me like that?" Meng Shen pointed at himself and asked warily, "You don't mean I have to live with you too, do you?"

Yu Jianguo patted him on the shoulder: "Wanwan's innocence is now in your hands."

Tang Yue remained calm and composed.

Yu Wan smiled. There was no need to guard it anymore; her innocence was no longer at stake.

"You must be joking. Even if I agreed, my dad wouldn't." Meng Shen's mouth twitched, and he was screaming inwardly: The one I need to guard against isn't Tang Yue, but Yu Xiaowan! She's had a crush on him for so long, what if she suddenly makes a move in a fit of rage? Even if I wanted to stop her, I wouldn't be able to!

Yu Jianguo ruthlessly declared, "I just collaborated with your father on a project, and he gave me a 40% cut while the other six took 60%." The implication was that your father had temporarily sold me the right to use your services.

With a look of despair, Meng Shen pulled out his phone and stormed out to verify the truth. Less than half a minute later, he returned with a deafening scream, looking disheveled.

"Uncle Yu, do you need another son? The kind who only knows how to fight and race cars..."

-

This area consists entirely of detached garden villas.

When they arrived, the servants had already prepared the three rooms. Yu Wan stayed on the third floor, with a wide view of the meticulously maintained courtyard. Meng Shen and Tang Yue, on the other hand, stayed on the farthest floor, the first floor.

Yu Wan quickly scanned the room; it was fully furnished, with many items moved from the main house, and doubts began to arise in her heart.

Old Man Yu's sudden action seemed too much like he was preparing a way out for her, but that shouldn't be the case. The Yu Group was thriving, and there were no strong competitors yet. Was she overthinking it, or was Old Man Yu really hiding something from her?

Yu Wan frowned and dialed Secretary Li's number: "Has anything major happened at the company recently?"

"No," Secretary Li replied firmly.

"What's unusual?"

Secretary Li thought for a moment and said, "A few days ago, during the quarterly review, the company's financial report showed a 3 percentage point increase, and the chairman happily announced that all employees would receive a raise."

“…Alright.” Yu Wan was silent for a few seconds, then narrowed her eyes. Perhaps she was overthinking it? Maybe Old Man Yu really was fooled by her grand pronouncements, all because of the idiotic system.

[...] The Mir was annoyed. What did it have to do with this?

I was so angry I almost crashed!

-

Yu Wan went downstairs.

The living room was completely silent. A quick glance revealed Tang Yue sitting on the sofa in the center, his long legs crossed.

His eyes were lowered, and his long, clean fingers rested on the computer, lazily pressing the keyboard.

Yu Wan glanced at the screen; it was just some incomprehensible program code again.

She clicked her tongue, raising an eyebrow slightly. If Tang Yue hadn't almost been caught hacking into the backend of a live-streaming website last time, she would almost have believed he was a tech genius!

Hearing the noise, Tang Yue raised his eyes.

Those clear, bright eyes paused for a moment, a hint of warmth appearing within them, and she smiled, "Aunt Liu has already prepared dinner. You can go to the dining room first; I'll be done in two minutes."

Yu Wan nodded, but after taking a couple of steps, she realized something. Wait a minute, this is her home, why should she listen to Tang Yue?

She turned slightly on her toes, walked over, and sat down on the carpet with a nonchalant air. She turned on the TV, turned the volume up really high, and started playing online games, acting like a big shot who thought, "This is my house, I can do whatever I want."

For a moment, the living room was filled with noisy game background music.

Tang Yue paused in his movements, looked up, and happened to see Yu Wan provocatively raising her chin at him.

That section of snow-white neck was dazzlingly white in the light.

Tang Yue's Adam's apple bobbed twice, his peach blossom eyes deep and unfathomable. He lowered his head, quickly typed the last line of code, exited, opened the work group, and sent a message as Donnie: "Virus cleared, release as planned," before gently closing his laptop.
